“Hannah is the best I could ever ask for to take care of my animals while I’m away. She takes the stress and worry completely out of the picture. Will always go to Hannah first anytime I need a sitter!”

“⭐️5 stars⭐️ Laurie was fantastic! Trustworthy and reliable. Our two dogs took to her very well. Everyday she sent us pictures of our fur babies and a little update. That was such a nice touch. I will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Thank you so much for letting me know. I truly appreciate that. I always worry and Pepper is hard one to win her trust. Great work. They’ll be ready for the next one👍🌸🤗”

“Alissa was very good with our Rex. This was our first time leaving our baby and she was very accommodating to our concerns. She could immediately tell our sweet boy was sad we left him and she went out of her way to make sure our boy was happy, comfortable and loved! We will definitely be using Alissa again!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is truly my passion. I have been actively involved in the rescue community for over 10 years and have extensive experience working with animals of all ages, personalities, and needs. I hold a degree in Animal Science and have gained hands-on experience working at a local animal shelter as well as as a pet care technician in a pet store. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and proper care. I am able to care for cats and am very knowledgeable about their unique needs and personalities. I am also able to board dogs, provided they are friendly with cats and children. Since I work from home full-time, your pets will receive plenty of supervision, attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, medication administration, or simply a calm and loving environment, I am committed to providing the same level of care and compassion that I would give my own animals. My goal is to ensure both you and your pet feel comfortable, confident, and at ease while you’re apart. I work from home full time so I will be on YOUR pets schedule. I do have small children but they have been taught how to be around animals appropriately. They love to play with the animals but will never be unattended with them. I will provide whatever needs YOUR pet needs. They are all different and have different needs and schedules. I allow free roaming. Pets on furniture. Pets sleeping in the bed. Whatever your baby is most comfortable with is what they will get here.
“Jeanie is my go-to for pet care and couldn’t be happier! She’s professional, dependable, and incredibly attentive. I always know my pup is in great hands with her, and I love the wonderful photos she sends—they make my day every time. Highly recommend!”

“Meagan is reliable and great with my dog and cat. There was a few big unexpected messes she cleaned up. Meagan communicated with me throughout the weekend. Will use again. Thank you!”

About: I have had dogs since I was born and I've been pet sitting since high school when neighbors and family friends needed someone. I've taken care of young and energetic puppies, dogs with medical needs, big dogs, small dogs, and everything in between. I have experience providing potty walks and playtime as well as overnight sitting for 1-2 dogs at a time. I have a special love for dogs and I look forward to being your dog's new best friend! I currently work 1-2 days at a pickleball club and am an online MBA student. I am available to take care of pups on weekdays and weekends at all times of the day! I will follow what the dog is used to for their health, safety, and trust. I can walk dogs on a leash or let them outside without one. Inside the house, I will do as the owner says for spaces the dog is able to be or in a crate. If the dog is seeming uncomfortable or unsafe at any point, I will contact the owner.
“Awesome sitter and my 3 Shepherds were well taken care of...Kari is always communicating and everything went extremely well. Definitely recommend and may even try boarding with her another time and her house in the future !!”

About: I’ve worked with and owned many different breeds of dogs, along with cats and reptiles etc. I love all animals and have helped with a family member’s boarding facility over the past few years. As I currently have a work from home job, I’m easily able to care for and play with all of the furry babies as they need it! I have a fenced in yard with a lock, and make sure to sure keep all things put away that your four legged baby might not need to have access to.
About: I have been taking care of pets for family members and friends for over 5 years now. It started when a friend had an emergency out of town and needed help. It was a pleasure to sit in and feed, play, and send goofy pictures of my friend’s dog to provide ease and comfort during a hard time. I work full time and that means my cats are fed on a routine. They require a special diet that requires portioned meals and time to play. I have an active pet cam that I am able to use to talk to them when I am not home to provide comfort and time dispensers for treats. I will abide by your routine and follow directive on when to feed, when to walk, and when to provide or administer medication. Only you know your companion best and in order to provide safety and structure, as your care-taker it would be a privilege to honor your schedule and routine.

I’ve now also experienced the joys of cats, with my own little kitten! I am ready to be as active or relaxed with your pet as you need. I work part time and have my 3-year-old daughter with me after school hours. I am available for drop ins regularly, and house-sitting/boarding during periods with more availability. In a client’s home, I respect the limits of where you choose to allow your pet and am happy to take dogs on walks or facilitate outdoor time as needed. I have a fenced yard in my home and keep doors to most rooms closed. My home is toddler-proof, so also largely pet proof!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Karen
We had such a great experience! She took wonderful care of our cat while we were away and gave us complete peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly genuinely cares about animals. We came home to happy, well-cared-for cat and everything just as we left it. We would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
