“Kathy is the best Pet sitter Ive used the last few years. All of my requests are usually last minute/ emergency and she always is available to help. My beagles are 11, and they dont express excitement very much with their old age. But everytime they see her they get super exited! She is always careful of their old age. Letting them take their time eating, walking, and gives them plenty of pets!”

About: Hello, my name is Sophia, and I’ve grown up in a household full of pets, both big and small. I have extensive experience with cat and dog sitting and truly enjoy caring for animals. Throughout college, I cared for pets of all kinds, including puppies. I’m very active and love spending time outdoors, so your pets will receive plenty of attention and playtime. I’ve built lasting relationships with regular clients over the years and am always happy to care for returning pets, giving you peace of mind while you’re away on trips or outings. I recently graduated and currently work remotely for an internship, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I’m able to spend plenty of time with pets throughout the day, even while working on my laptop. I’m not someone who sits still for long, so your pets will receive lots of attention, care, and companionship. At home, I currently have one cat and three dogs who are all very loved and well cared for. As someone who enjoys being outdoors, I make sure my pets get plenty of walks and activity even when it’s cold or raining! We also have a backyard and access to a nearby park for extra fun. When caring for your pet, I would ensure they are well fed, comfortable, and fully adjusted to the routine you set, so they receive the care they need to be their happiest.
About: I’ve had a variety of animals in my home and loved them all my life! I love serving animals and providing them with the upmost respect and care. I’m a veterinary assistant so I have vast knowledge about cat & dogs medical needs. I can confidently administer medications, including insulin. I can provide care almost anytime on Mondays and Friday’s. I work Tuesday-Thursday 10 hour shifts but could potentially provide care after work at 6pm. Reach out about weekend availability. I have two very sweet cats at home that do well with other dogs. I have a “fear free” approach to care provided in your home, including animal pheromone therapy, patience/gradient touch, food motivation, respect of boundaries and positive vibes.
“I’m super happy with Danielle and autumn has really connected with her. Makes me feel good and it relieves a stress for autumn when we are apart. Highly recommended.”

“Brittany was amazing! She goes above and beyond to make sure your babies are spoiled and well taken care of. When one of our cats was diagnosed with diabetes just weekend before a scheduled trip for the holidays we were scrambling to find someone and we found the perfect person. My anxiety was so high with this new diagnosis and Brittany quickly made be feel so much better. She was sure to update us twice a day and the pictures she captures are amazing. We’ve had our share of pet sitters and Brittany is in a league of her own. She is the most professional, kind, caring and attentive sitter you will find!”

“Taylor did a fantastic job and was super friendly to me and my pets! I left an extremely long note of instructions and tips, etc., and she followed them like an absolute pro. Thank you so much!”

About: I have been a pet owner all my life and I treat every furbaby like they are my own. I enjoy animals and I think they make a household so much better. I’m the one my friends and family rely on when it comes to watching their animals when they have to go out of town and I won’t let you down either with your best friend. I work during the week but I am off during the weekends but I am more than willing to open my home to anyone who needs care. I feed all dogs in their crate or across a baby fence to keep everyone out of trouble and to prevent accidents. Unless I’m familiar with the dogs, I do allow out of crate sleeping but for most I stick with crate sleeping. My schedule is set the same every week. I do work full-time at my job (Monday to Friday) but I am off every weekend. . I treat every animal that walks through my door like family. If I’m watching multiple dogs everyone eats in their crate or across the baby gate.
“Michelle did such an amazing job looking over my cat Cleo while we were out of town. She came each day and spent time with her, she even brought her 2 year old which was such a treat for Cleo. I loved looking at Michelle’s rover card each day with pictures and an overview. She went above and beyond and brought in our mail and checked on the house which brought a lot of piece of mind while being away. I would recommend Michelle to anyone looking for good quality care for their pets!”

About: I used to work in a Petshotel taking care of dogs and cats. I have a passion for making animals happy and providing them the the proper care they need. I can administer medications in a variety of ways and have been able to monitor multiple dogs at once during playtimes. I have had 10 dogs in my lifetime, and I can't wait to meet even more. I ask that I meet every pet before hand to make sure we will be a good fit before providing services. I recently graduated with my masters, so I am on the hunt for a full time job. Currently my availability is fully open, but is subject to change later. I had dog-sat many of times before and am extremely respectful of other's property and how they choose to take care of their pet. I like to send pictures of people's pets to them while they are away so they can relax knowing they are in good care.

“What can I say? Ashley K. is the greatest when it comes to taking care of my cats. I was able to fully enjoy my vacation because I knew that Theo and Lena were in good hands and I did not have to worry about their care. Thanks again Ashley, you are my go-to-person for my cat sitting. You're the best!”

About: I’ve raised 2 dogs of my own since they were puppies and one is now a senior. I have taken care of cats and dogs alike and I truly love and care for them like they are my own. I have plenty of time to care for your pets during the day or evening. Caitlin is an AMAZING sitter! She cared for my senior kitty, with a variety of medical needs, above and beyond what I would have hoped for. I’m very protective of my kitty and don’t trust a lot of people to care for her but Caitlin is the absolute best! She is on time and very detailed with her drop in reports. Not only did she take amazing care of my cat but my home as well. If you have the opportunity to book Caitlin you won’t be disappointed!

Annie was absolutely amazing! Slim Shady and Cheddar Bob loved her! I was worried that Cheddar might stay hidden during my trip (he’s shy) but he was waiting for her every day. Annie sent pictures and videos and kept me updated daily. So thankful for Annie and the peace of mind I had being away for a whole week.

Amanda is absolutely amazing!! She gave me so much peace of mind knowing my cat was safe, happy, and well cared for while I was away. I came home everything in perfect order. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring!

Chante is wonderful!! She took such excellent care of our cat while we were away and she was extremely communicative and kind. Our cat was prescribed 2x a day medications immediately before our trip, and Chante very generously accommodated us on very short notice when we asked if this was something she could do. It was a relief knowing our kitten was in such great hands! I would not hesitate to recommend Chante. She really went above and beyond for us and our cat adored her.

What can I say? Ashley K. is the greatest when it comes to taking care of my cats. I was able to fully enjoy my vacation because I knew that Theo and Lena were in good hands and I did not have to worry about their care. Thanks again Ashley, you are my go-to-person for my cat sitting. You're the best!

Alima has been such a blessing to my family. She went above and beyond in taking care of our cat Pebbles. I was out of the country for an extended period and she bought Pebbles food and litter with her own money. She took time to play with my cat, comfort her during the 7 week period I was away. She made sure the cat was happy throughout the period. Alima thank you so much. I can and will recommend Alima to anyone. In my view she's the best in the Concord/Kannapolis area.

Donna is the best! She is on time, very communicative and easy to work with. She goes the extra mile; bringing chase balls for my lab and even came back over the 4th to check on my cat due to the heavy fireworks in the area. Great pictures of the animals as well. I highly recommend Donna. She is my go to when I need to travel

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Kannapolis stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kannapolis. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
