“Rachel was wonderful! She was open and honest about our pup’s anxiety and gave us some great tips to help him feel more comfortable. She was so kind, flexible, and understanding throughout the day. We truly appreciated her care and communication and will most definitely be using her again! A wonderful experience for us and our pups!”

“Kathy is so sweet & very attentive with my dog. She's also great at communication, which I've found to be a rare occurrence on Rover. She cares for other dogs while keeping mine, but I would never know if she hadn't told me! She sends pics throughout the day & promptly updates time cards. She's so compassionate & truly cares for my fur baby's wellbeing. I highly recommend Kathy!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Lyndsey watching our 10-week-old puppy. She attached daily pictures for us to see what our pup was up to and gave daily updates at pick-up of how her day had gone. Our pup was loved not only by Lyndsey but also her two young children and playful dog of her own. We brought the basics but Lyndsey had everything else to keep our puppy comfortable and busy. We would absolutely trust Lyndsey to watch our pup again.”

“Stacey was wonderful and Baby Hutch had such a good time with her and all the other pups at Daycare!! I will definitely be taking him back!! Thank you Stacey for helping me with a 7 week old puppy on such short notice!! You made me feel at ease and I knew he was in good hands!!”

“My two girls just love Debora! My one dog is usually very anxious around new people, but she went right up to her at their first meeting like they were best friends! She also has her own Yorkie named Jethro, who has become my girls' favorite new friend. Debora has been great about working around my schedule. I'm a travel nurse, so I work long hours that start early in the morning. It gives me such piece of mind to know my girls are taken care of and not alone all day while I'm at work.”

“I cannot rave enough about Lynann. I am VERY overprotective of my, almost 15 year old, dog and Lynann did an AMAZING job at putting my mind at ease regarding leaving my pup with her. I received updates and pictures throughout the day for my dog and she came home exhausted and happy. I would highly recommend Lynann to anyone looking for someone to care for your pup. She is definitely our new go-to dog sitter.”

About: I have taken care of dogs every since I was little. As a kid I offered services for my neighborhood. I now want to offer services out of the comfort of my own home! I have a very flexible schedule with no job. I would love to become a full time pet sitter if I can! I love animals even rabbits, hamsters, etc. I have two dogs currently that are sweet. I take my dog outside everyday I have a strong compassion with animals and love to play with them. I feel for them when they have to stay in the house all day so I do things to entertain them. They are only here for so long ❤️
“Karen took such wonderful care of our dog! He had a great time playing with her. She sent multiple photos of him smiling and playing throughout the day. I know he’d love to go back to her!”

About: This isn’t just a job for me—it’s something I truly enjoy. I find joy in every walk, cuddle, and tail wag, and that passion shows in the way I care for each dog. I’m currently a college student who enjoys pet care is part of my everyday routine. I make time for walks, feeding, and play to keep pets happy and comfortable. - Caring for pets in clients home, I will follow the pet’s normal routine with feeding, walks, play, and potty breaks to keep them comfortable in their own space. - Caring for pets in my home, I will provide a safe, pet-friendly environment with plenty of playtime, walks, and attention. - Caring for pets during drop in visit, I will make sure they feel safe and trusted by me :) but I’ll also make sure to provide fresh food and water, clean up when needed, and spend quality time playing or giving them attention so they don’t feel alone.
“Thank you Leslie for taking great care of Olive while he was little anxious in the beginning. He had a lot of fun which was evident by how exhausted he was when we picked him up. More day camps days to come !”

About: My family has had birds, cats, dogs, fish, and rodents throughout my whole life. I used to foster kittens and puppies as well as walk and care for animals at my local animal shelter. While I have pets of my own, my job situation has changed and I’d like to spend my spare time helping other busy people make sure their pets get the love and care they need! My current job is flexible and includes working from home, so I can adapt my schedule to meet your and your pets’ needs (within reason of course). I’ve got a local dog park where I take my dog regularly, and love to go for long walks or just play with a dog in the yard and let them out to go potty if needed. I’m sensitive to pets needing extra care or medication as well. I also am happy to just come over and play with your dog/cat if they just need love and attention. I’m slightly more of a cat person, but I love both very much!
“My Winston absolutely loves it at Kim’s house! He just struts right in like he owns the place. Her pups couldn’t be any sweeter & we feel so lucky we found her . Thanks Rover for making this so easy.”

“Peggy was great with my baby girl! She made sure my pup had lots of plays throughout the day, and sent me pictures and updates. She was able to accommodate our booking request such short notice, which really helped us out. Peggy’s home was welcoming and had lots of space for my pup to run around with her pups. I would recommend Peggy if you’re in need of daycare!”

“Bri and her husband were great! They were waiting for us when we arrived and made Nyla feel so comfortable, slowly introducing her to the other dogs. I got the cutest photos and regular updates. We will definitely be back!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Kannapolis commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
