About: I’ve been the primary caretaker for my dog for the past 7 years, handling everything from daily walks and feedings to baths and medication. I walk him at least four times a day and try to get in a longer mile-ish walk a few times a week so he can explore at his own pace. I’ve also cared for several friends’ dogs for multi-day stays ranging from a couple of days to over a week. Between that and growing up around pets, I’m very comfortable reading a dog’s personality and routine. My wife has lived with dogs her whole life as well, so our home is very dog friendly. Dogs are welcome on the couch and our own dog sleeps in bed with us. I’ve also done a fair bit of basic training with him. I taught him “wait” (stay), helped him get comfortable with paw cleaning after walks, and even set up a little “dog nest” on the bed that he now uses as his sleeping spot. About: I’ve taken care of a handful of dogs before and every experience I’ve had was nothing short of amazing. I hope to have the privilege to experience more of that. Then, during Lovely’s day with Maple, Maple sent lots of updates, with pictures and videos. Lovely is shy around new people, but Maple was patient with her and let her take the lead on what she was comfortable with. For example, Lovely was shy to go in the house at first, so Maple set her up on a long-line on the deck and kept the door open so Lovely could go inside whenever she was ready.
