“Bessie was fantastic with Pip and Taz! She took great care of everything—from their feeding routine and litter box to spending time playing and hanging out with them. She was extremely communicative, sent plenty of photos and updates, and made it easy to feel confident that they were well cared for while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Bessie and will definitely use her again!”

“Heather did a wonderful job checking in on my cat while I was away on vacation. She showed up on time, spent time playing with her, and made sure she was properly fed and taken care of. I also appreciated her thoughtful updates and photos!”

“Romon was the best sitter for our 3 boys. We needed a sitter at the last minute and he was so accommodating stopping by our house to make sure they were ok. We will def rebook with Romon in the future!”
About: I have taken care of dogs for 12 years now! I am very loving, dependable and attentive. I provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment. I currently am not working right now , so I do have a lot of free time to care for pets and spend time with them!! I treat every pet like my own. The environment is very safe and there is a lot of grass areas to walk and run around!
“Vivi helped me on short notice! She exhibited genuine concern for my animals and was quick to communicate. I truly appreciate her caring and confidence. I have no doubts that I will use her in the future.”

“Mikela was very personable and very communicative when we did our virtual meet and greet. Our kitty is very old and needed some extra care and she was very understanding and helpful about it. We were away with no service except for emergencies/ rare service spots so when we were able to check in she was very fast with responding and giving us updates. We super appreciated her and her attention to detail and how well our little old lady was cared for. We would absolutely book her again. Thank you Mikela!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for my English Bulldog, who I’ve helped raise since 2020, so I understand the daily care and attention dogs need. I’m also very familiar with cats, thanks to helping with my cousin’s cat, so I feel confident caring for both cats and dogs. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I’m available after 1 p.m. on Monday - Friday. I’m usually free on Sundays as well. I treat every home and pet with the same respect and care I give my own. You can trust me to be responsible, reliable, and to keep your pets safe and happy while you’re away.

“Aliyah was a treasure. She was ready to go from booking. Blue adapted well to her and enjoyed her special cuddles!! She had great communication and was very accommodating!! We will definitely use her again!”

“Thanks so much Yerlis. Very professional. Dogs took to her immediately. Timely and accommodating. First time on the app and a great impression so far. Will see you soon.”

“This was my very first time using Rover, and choosing this Star Sitter was one of the best decisions I could have made for Marley and Mocha! I interviewed three different sitters, but the moment she walked into my home, sat down with me, and I watched how naturally she engaged with Marley and Mocha, I immediately felt at ease. There was something about her energy, attentiveness, and genuine love for my pups that gave me the reassurance I needed to leave them in her care. I was away for five days and received consistent updates and follow-ups throughout my trip. I never had to wonder how Marley and Mocha were doing because she kept me informed and made sure I knew they were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. And the true confirmation came when I returned home — especially with Mocha! She was actually looking around for her “Auntie!” That told me everything I needed to know. ❤️ I HIGHLY recommend her. When she says she cares for your pups so that “YOU CAN RELAX,” she absolutely means it. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing my babies were in loving, capable, and trustworthy hands. Thank you, QUEEN!!!!! 👑 You have officially become Auntie to Marley and Mocha, and we will definitely see you again soon!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience raising and training a Cocker Spaniel, a Pitbull Terrier, and a Rottweiler from puppyhood into their senior years, my goal is to provide patient and dependable care tailored to your pet's unique personality. Whether they need playtime, walks, cuddles, or just a calm place to stay, they will always feel safe, loved, and cozy while in my care. I currently work full-time in Alexandria, VA, but I work remotely on Mondays and Wednesdays. I do have open availability on weekends, and I am available to board throughout the weekend into Monday. My care is tailored to the individual needs of every animal. My apartment complex is incredibly pet-friendly with a large area right outside my unit for long walks and playtime. We also have a grooming station in case your fur baby needs a little TLC before going home. As an active young adult and someone familiar with the challenges of the puppy years - I am also available to walk dogs as frequently as needed. I also have no problem administering medication or patiently supporting elderly or special needs animals.
About: I’ve taken care of several pets since I was young. I had several dogs and cats (sometimes at the same time!). I love walking and playing with dogs, I’ve trained my puppy. I have taken care of big and small dogs. I have also taken care of kittens and adult cats. I have litter trained kittens and played with them often. I currently work full time, but am more than happy to watch your fur baby on my days off! I have days off where I have no plans and would love to spend it with more dogs or with your cat! I have a fenced in yard and two fur babies (dogs) of my own who are friendly and can keep your fur baby company. I am use to watching other people’s fur babies in a 24 hour care setting.

She really went above and beyond taking care of my cat. I got thoughtful updates, photos, and could tell my cat was genuinely comfortable and cared for the whole time. It made being away so much less stressful. I came home to a happy cat and everything in great shape. I’d absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
