“Emma was so great! She always responded quickly to messages, and was very accommodating to our needs - she came over in advance so we could meet her and introduce her to our dog, and she dealt with some unconventional dog hand-offs while we were away. She also left the house just as it was. We will definitely be reaching out to her for dog-sitting needs in the future. Thank you, Emma!”

“Jennifer did a great job watching our dogs and cat (and bunny). Even with rough weather and power outages, the animals were in good hands. Thank you for keeping them healthy, happy and entertained.”

“We had our initial meet and greet we felt comfortable by how our puppy was around her. Everything went well, she provided daily feedback and kept us informed throughout the day. Thanks”

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the care Justine provided. From the beginning, communication was clear, prompt, and professional and we received regular updates and photos, which made being away so much easier. When we returned home, our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. That says everything. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate dog sitter.”

“Danielle was amazing! She watched my 3 month old pup and 1 year old shepherd/chow mix and they both loved her! She sent many updates about how they were doing! I will definitely be booking her again!”
“Alyssa was great. She arrived on time and took good care of our Frenchie as well as our home. We are very happy to have found someone so trustworthy and who gave Dumpling lots of love and attention. We could tell our pup was comfortable with Alyssa. We look forward to booking Alyssa again.”
“Owen was fantastic. Not only was he responsive but the dogs were well taken care of. They were walked, fed, played with, and given a lot of love. While he was watching the pups he also kept the house clean. I got daily pictures ands updates which helped to put my mind at ease about my pups while I was on vacation. I will use Owen again”

“Keeara was honestly so great and gave me all the reassurance I needed for my two pups. It’s always hard for me to leave my dogs in the care of somebody else because I’m so particular and very paranoid about it overall but I definitely trust her and wouldn’t hesitate to let her watch my dogs again which says a lot. Her communication was a 10/10 even when an emergency in her own family came up she still prioritized the care of my dogs as well. Thank you so much again!! So grateful for her care.”

“Lindsay took amazing care of Henry & Lilly keeping me updated with photos and messages. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and professional to care for their furry family members. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Sara was a lifesaver! She helped house sit our two greyhounds and a guinea pig on short notice, salvaging a family vacation. She was responsive while we were away and when we got home, everything was as we left it and it was clear the dogs (and pig) had been exceptionally well cared for. We'll definitely be requesting her services in the future.”

“Alina is amazing! She is attentive and provides frequent updates that are detailed. I highly recommend using her. One of my dogs had a vomit issue and she handled it so well! Alina is also very sweet. I will definitely be contacting her again for when I’m traveling.”

“Ashlyn was absolutely wonderful with our two high maintenance dogs. She was super flexible with some last minute changes and accommodated for landscapers that showed up making the back yard inaccessible. Ashlyn walked the dogs for us and sent us pictures and videos of our babies while we were gone. Hopefully they didn’t drive her crazy because we would 100% use her again!”

“Benjamin is tentative, kind, and caring with Maizie. I’ve used rover in the past and it’s safe to say he goes beyond the standard of taking care of your pup.”

“Alise was AMAZING. I have two dogs who are polar opposites-one hyper snuggly boy and a very, very shy girl who does not do strangers. I hate leaving my pups, but having Alise care for them gave me so much peace of mind. She provided daily updates and pictures, and took amazing care of my dogs. One of my dogs had a sick episode and Alise handled it impeccably-cleaning it up, photographing it, and reaching out immediately. The most impressive for me was that she got my shy girl to come up to her and show affection. I will absolutely be asking her to sit again-could not be happier!”

About: Hello! My name is Kaira! I’m currently a full time Veterinary assistant with over 6 years of veterinary experience and over 9 years of pet care experience. I have a 7 year old Pomeranian named Stitch who is my world so I understand that our pets play an important role in our lives. I’m currently working Monday- Friday with weekends free, however, my schedule can be flexible so I can potentially make some changes is needed to suit your pets care. I currently offer house visits/stays, drop ins and walks. I have a 7yo Pomeranian named Stitch who gets along with both cats and dogs. Stitch usually travels with me to work, but if your pet is not fond of other animals then I can make arrangements for him.
About: Im the better choice when choosing someone to care for your pet because of the genuine care, patience, and attention I give to every cat/dog as if they were my own. I understand that each cat (or dog) deserves individulized care that matches their unique personality, routine, and comfort level. At the moment I am helping take care of my mother which is a full-time, demanding job, but i still have plenty of time to add pet sitting at my residence or yours. My day will require a carefully blending of tasks rather than creating entirely new one. For example, instead of adding a chore to my routine, dog walking simply turns my solo exercise into a shared, high-utility activity, that I can also do with mother. When going to a clients home, I follow every direction. Walking, feeding, playing. I make sure I leave the pets happy, and your house exactly how the client left it. I do not rush the process at all, to make sure I always exceed the clients expectation.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Jacobsville
Miranda has been walking our dogs for several months, and she is absolutely wonderful! She is always on time, communicates well, takes them on nice long walks, and sends us the best pictures. We recently trusted her to stay in our home and care for them overnight for an entire weekend, and she did an amazing job. Our dogs had a great time, and we felt completely comfortable knowing they were receiving such loving, attentive care. Miranda is dependable, trustworthy, and genuinely wonderful with our dogs. We highly recommend her!

Danielle won over our somewhat cranky 15-yr-old Stanley with patience and kindness. She regularly communicated with us during her 2-day/overnight stay. We were able to really enjoy our time away, knowing he was in good hands. We will definitely try to book with Danielle in the future!
Emily is the best! We have two new rescues that came from a bad situation, so they are understandably skittish and our older rescue is still hesitant of strangers, so her background as a vet tech made us very comfortable leaving them with her. We normally have to do multiple meet and greets to help warm everyone up to a new person, but on her first meet and greet all of our pups were out with wagging tails. This tells you how gentle Emily’s energy is. We have booked Emily twice and she has been incredible. She communicates and sends plenty of updates and makes sure everyone is taken care of. You can’t go wrong booking with her; your animals with appreciate it!

Owen was amazing! He took great care of our two dogs Tasha and Sadie! He was very professional and communicative while we were away allowing us to truly enjoy our vacation knowing our dogs were well taken care of. We will definitely be booking with Owen again!

AMAZING! Abigail respected the property, follow instructions, she was the sweetest and so patients with my doggos. Truly grateful for her kindness, and for being available last minute. Let me know everything, and comunicate very good with me. 100% recommended!

Kristiana is my all time favorite pet sitter! She stays in my house when I’m out of town and takes the best care of my two little dogs. She is very clean and always leaves my place the way it was when she got here. I’ve used her plenty of times and recommend her to all my friends looking for a pet or house sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jacobsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jacobsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jacobsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jacobsville. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
