Safety, trust & environment
I always try to make the pet feel comfortable with me just existing in their space before care begins, I've found that the pets seeing me with their owner is a good way to start off establishing trust. I do my best to adjust myself and my activities to the pet's routine and their needs so that my presence is a minimal disruption.

Pet care experience
I've taken care of both dogs and cats, including those with medication needs and I've managed to make connections with pets that had apparently never warmed up to sitters.
