About: I treat every pet as if they were my own. What sets me apart is my attention to each pet’s unique personality, routine, and comfort level—I take the time to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m also comfortable handling pets with anxiety and work to create a calm, reassuring environment. You will always get consistent updates and clear communication, so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I’m currently working in a high school so I am home early by 2:45 and have availability for the remainder of the evening! Pets stay in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they’re treated like part of the family. I stick closely to their usual feeding, walking, and sleeping schedules to help them feel at ease. There’s plenty of supervised playtime, affection, and downtime, depending on their personality. I also make sure the space is pet-friendly and secure at all times.
“John did a great job with my pup. He was on time and he sent updates to me throughout my time away where I felt my animals were in good hands. My neighbors even had good things to say:) I will definitely try to reach out to him again next time I need doggy help👍”

About: I’ve had dogs of my own my entire life and have always loved and taken care of them. I have helped out my family, friends, and neighbors with their pets whenever they need! My most recent dog passed away about a year and a half ago, which makes it hard to get another dog because of the heartbreak, but I have helped take care of others pets as they have needed! I just graduated college, so I have this summer off and will have plenty of time to care and take care of dogs and pups! I am available full time from Sunday-Thursday. I have a fenced yard and a pen for the pups to use the bathroom in. I have an extra crate and toys for the pups to use and play with!

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have cared for a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, frogs, birds, lizards, a ferret, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish. My last pet was a cat, and even though I don’t currently have pets, I truly enjoy being around them. I’ve owned dogs all of my life and have had several breeds over the years including pitbulls, a Boston Terrier, a French Bulldog, and a Boxer, so I am very comfortable with different sizes and personalities. I have walked and cared for both of my aunts dogs. My one aunt has a French Bulldog and the other has a mastiff, and I always made sure they were fed, let out, and comfortable. I also cared for a pitbull while babysitting, handling his feeding, bathroom breaks, and daily routine. Dogs are my specialty because I have the most hands on experience with them, but I enjoy caring for all pets. I am responsible, patient, and confident with many different breeds and temperaments, and I always make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and well taken care of. I also plan on getting a red eared slider turtle soon because I love learning about and caring for different types of animals. I am currently on summer vacation, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets throughout the week. When the fall semester starts, my classes will only be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which keeps my schedule very open. I am available from 6 am to 3 pm to take care of your pets, and I make sure to plan my day around giving them the attention and care they need. When I am caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow their routines and instructions closely to make sure their pets feel safe and comfortable. I pay attention to details like feeding times, bathroom breaks, and keeping their space clean. I take my time with each pet so they never feel rushed or stressed, and I always make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure. My goal is to create a calm and trustworthy environment so your pets feel relaxed and well cared for while you are away.

A little about my background: I was a volunteer dog walker at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, NY for about 3 years. During the pandemic, while working from home full time, I became my neighbors dog walker for their Husky and 2 Chihuahuas because why not!! I walked them at least twice a day every day for almost 2 years. I don’t have a ton of experience taking care of cats, but I have friends and family that have cats. I’d be more than willing to help take care of your cats as well! I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I work in the city 3 days per week, but I can choose which days those will be. So, I can be flexible. If for whatever reason, you need to cancel, just let me know at least 1-2 days before. Thank you! I provide dog sitting, dog walking, dog boarding, cat sitting, and cat boarding services. Whatever you need and however much you need, I am willing to give! Looking forward to meeting you and your pet!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Island Park
Lisa is an incredibly kind and caring dog sitter. My dog Latte gets so excited every time he sees her, which says everything about how loved and comfortable he feels in her care. She’s attentive, patient, and truly treats him like her own. She’s also very reliable with giving medications and always makes sure his needs are fully taken care of. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing he’s with someone so thoughtful, trustworthy, and compassionate. I highly recommend Lisa to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pets.

Jamie was amazing! I just recently adopted my pup and was nervous about leaving him for a long period of time. Jamie helped ease my mind as a new dog mom and took such good care of Roger. She’s super responsive and makes sure to send updates! Would definitely use her again!

Angela has been an Angel for us. I literally do not know what I would have done without her. Our booking was too short notice for a meet and greet (like it’s 9pm and we need someone for the next several days starting tomorrow). She answered our distress call and made it work with two recently adopted regressing special needs puppies. She’s very communicative, and took lots of photos during her visits. She is prompt and punctual and just really amazing with our puppies. They are normally terrified of everything and everyone but Angela is super patient and sweet and the dogs trusted her like immediately. Her visits changed our potty training trajectory, they were regressing and all of a sudden afraid of outside, but Angela came through and somehow turned it all around. So thankful to have found her.

Nicole was excellent—punctual and clearly took care to follow all of the instructions. She came for a dog check in, feeding, and dog walk and documented the entire thing with texts and photos in real time, which is really assuring whenever someone is in your home when you are not. My puppy seemed to love her—she did all of her business—and everything was left in the same condition as before. Would definitely recommend and will use in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
