I felt at ease having Caleigh walk our brand new baby, Leo. She was communicative and right on time which was important for us with an 8wk old puppy. Will be using again. Thank you!

Bella is wonderful. Not only is she great with my dog (and I'm sure everyone else's) she has her own dogs and cat....so she really understands how pet parents feel. The minute she met my dog, she came into my house, and started brushing him & rubbing his ears...you should have seen his FACE - He nearly fell asleep, lol. She definitely loves animals and she gets it. If she offered boarding/daycare, I'd totally trust her with my dog and I am VERY protective of my dog bc daycares in Riverdale allowed him to be attacked and harmed. She is careful and she actually cares.

About: Hi! My name is Jenn and I rescued Jasper 3 years ago. We love taking walks at the Kensico Dam, going to the beach and the dog park. I am a reliable dog walker and animal lover with experience caring for happy pups. I treat every dog like my own family. You get safe walks, fun playtime, and great photo updates every single time. I am currently working from home with a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time to care for your pet! I am available daily for walks and sitting on the weekends. Your pet will get maximum engagement and company during the all services as if they were my own. Caring for pets requires following their specific routines and keeping them safe during walks or daytime sitting. I have a friendly dog to keep your fur baby company and I will provide photos and messages about your pet's service.

About: I've had the wonderful experience of caring for the many animals at the humane society including dogs, cats, bunnies, mice, and birds. I've had the chance to bond with animals with a variety of different personalities and background stories. I also have administered medication and cared for animals with different medical needs including chronic kidney disease. I hope to bring my experience and passion for animals to better serve your feline and canine friends. I hope to dedicate plenty of time to spend taking care of your animal companions. I am available in the early mornings and all throughout the day. In addition to feeding and changing the litter box, I hope to check in on your animals to make sure they are comfortable and there are no hazardous items around. I hope to spend some time socializing and playing with them if they up for it! Otherwise, a friendly hello will do.

About: I’ve always loved dogs, and started walking them about 6 years ago. Now I’ve mostly worked with senior pets, usually medium sized dogs. I’m always eager to learn more about any animal in my care, and will stay in touch with daily updates. I’m almost always available, and I have plenty of time to give your pet individualized care and attention. If you need me, I’m there for your pet! I prefer to schedule a meeting to meet you and your pet before sitting for them. That way I’m familiar to them, and I can hear directly from you about any special needs, medications, habits, and things to look out for.

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life — big, small, shy, playful, you name it. I’ve cared for multiple dogs at a time and still do, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m genuinely obsessed with dogs and love getting to know each one’s unique personality, quirks, and preferences. Whether it’s discovering their favorite walking route, the toy they can’t put down, or the treat that makes their tail wag the fastest, I make it my mission to ensure they feel loved, safe, and happy — always. I work full time in healthcare, but I’m fully remote — so my day naturally revolves around my dogs. I build my schedule and their walks, playtime, and snuggles, making sure they get plenty of attention and care throughout the day. This flexibility allows me to be present and attentive to any pet I’m caring for, just as I am with my own. Whether in my home or yours, I treat every pet like my own. In my home, pets get a safe, clean, and cozy environment with plenty of playtime, walks, and snuggles. I stick to their normal feeding schedules, keep fresh water available at all times, and make sure they get the exercise and attention they’re used to. In a clients home, I follow your routines and instructions to the letter — whether that means specific feeding times, favorite walking routes, or special care needs — so your pet feels comfortable and cares for in their own space. My goal is always to keep tails wagging and stress levels low.

About: I love animals! I raised and trained my German Shepherd and have watched pets for family and friends for years. I love all sizes of cats and dogs but my experience is mostly with larger dogs like retrievers and shepherds. I'm excited to help care for your fluffy beloved friend, big or small. I have a flexible schedule so please let me know if you need a specific time for a drop in! I typically am more free later in the day, after about noon. However, I can be flexible if needed, just reach out for any specific times. I'm an avid runner so I'm excited to take your pet on long walks (or short walks, whatever they need). I also love to provide treats so please let me know if you're open to me bringing some treats for your pet (and if they have any dietary restrictions). I'm excited to help care for them :)

About: My parents got me my first dog Tokyo, when I was 9 , a beautiful short-haired black and brown mutt and I've been dog-crazy ever since. I recently moved to New York leaving my 10-year-old Great Dane, Maxine, with my parents, which breaks my heart . I mostly work from home, so I absolutely jumped at this opportunity to walk and look after other people's dogs. From dogs that are larger than life, and drag you from place to place (like my own), to the smallest and petite of canines (my sister had a Maltese terrier), I have a life-time of experience . I'm really feeling the absence of my friend and will happily take your dog for some fresh air. I'm an artist, I work from home, so I am fully flexible. I write at night as that's when I'm most inspired so I'd love to use to my days to do something I love. I have a lot of experience with larger dogs, I can crate them, walk them and give them their medication. When it comes to cats, I let them do their thing and give them attention should they ask.

TERESA was fantastic and I highly recommend her! She and TONY are extremely communicative and responsive. TERESA was wonderful with my golden retriever who can sometimes pull during walks. It was easy to see how much he loved her and enjoyed his time with her. She posted pictures and when above and beyond. You can rest assured, knowing that you’re furry family member is well cared for!

Erin is responsible, communicative, mature. She also tells me what my dog really did - not necessarily what I want to hear, such as “Pebbles only wanted to be out for five minutes so we sat together on the couch for the rest of the time.” I know exactly how stubborn Pebbles can be if she doesn’t want to stay outside and I really appreciate being told what actually happened. I look forward to a long relationship with Erin, including regular walks, as well as last minute walks and possibly boarding or petsitting as needed.

  • 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
