“Ashley worked with us to make sure our time was covered. The dogs loved her!! And she sent us nightly pictures and report of the day's adventures. Would highly recommend and I am sure we will try to use her on future sittings. It was a great experience!”

“Corey was absolutely amazing with George and Bosun! From the moment we met him, I felt confident they were in great hands. He was reliable, caring, and kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that George and Bosun were comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Coming home to two relaxed, content dogs meant everything to me. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Corey again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable Rover sitter!”

“Loved having Aunt Sam watch the pups again! So thankful that she sent pics every day so that we felt better about being away from them! So grateful to be able to take trips again knowing our babies are in good hands! Thanks, Sam!”

About: I approach all walks of life with an open heart and love. Because of this I believe all critters seek out my affections and makes for fun interactions. I am currently at a cross road in life and looking for new situations that are more fulfilling. I absolutely enjoy spending my time with four legged friends. I have a mostly private fenced in yard with plenty of room for running and playing. I also can provide crates and segregated spots for our friends that need their own space or maybe a little to shy.
“Took great care of my wee Boston Terrier - and my home!- for an entire week. Excellent communication and so grateful for their kindness as this was my first time leaving him.😊”

About: I have taken care of animals all my life. I've had dogs to horses. I love them as family just like I love my own children. I'm retired so I have plenty of time to put myself into a job in which I would love. I know I would love your animals as much I love mine. My dogs are very spoiled and very well taken care of and loved by all of my family. So I will show your pets the same love and care as I show my own
“Ingrid is the BEST!! She went over and beyond taking care of my Lucy for a whole week! Lucy loved her. I got updates and pictures every day. I had a worry-free vacation. My house was spotless when I got home. She was amazing. I will definitely be using her again!”
“Carol was great. Apollo has severe anxiety during thunderstorms and she took care of him. Gave him his medication and cuddled with him to make him feel safe. She played with him and took him on short walks. She asked questions when needed and sent us pictures daily. I highly recommend Carol. She treated Apollo like he was her own. We already have her booked for a second time.”

“Jessica was the best!!! She went above and beyond to care for my pup! She was punctual and always made sure to give an update with each visit. For someone who is nervous about leaving my pup with a stranger I can say that she calmed my nerves and she no longer feels like a stranger. Will certainly use her services in the future.”

About: I love to walk! Having a buddy or two walking with me is even better. The age doesn't matter. Young is great because they are active and I want to stay active. I enjoy playing fetch. I do like wrestling (the big ones) and some aggressive belly rubbing. Sometimes just chilling out for some petting or scratching works also. What schedule? I'm retired, so I have no schedule and plenty of time. I love mornings! Spending time around animals fits in my schedule just fine. I love to walk and play fetch with Baya or just rubbing her belly and scratching her head. She is elderly and has a sensitive tummy so is required to have a special made food (usually ground turkey or eggs and brown rice and a veggie. Keeping her weight under control helps keep her active.
“Taylor is the best. She stayed at our home and took care of our dog who was in love with her. We felt completely relaxed and trusted her completly. We do hope she can spend more time with our dog in the near future.”

“We recently had the pleasure of having Molly look after our beloved dogs - Koda, Willow, and Brutus - while we attended a wedding in Ohio. From the outset, Molly was a beacon of professionalism and warmth. Her approach to pet care is nothing short of exceptional. Molly's ability to connect with our dogs was evident when she met them. Koda, our older pup, warmed up to her instantly. Always energetic, Willow found a playful and understanding friend in Molly. And Brutus, our gentle giant, was cared for with the perfect mix of affection and discipline. Returning home, our dogs were happy, healthy, and well-loved in our absence. It was clear that Molly had formed a special bond with each of them. The house was also in perfect condition, reflecting Molly's respect and care for our space. In conclusion, Molly is a phenomenal Rover sitter and a true friend to our furry family members. We couldn't have asked for a better person to care for Koda, Willow, and Brutus. We highly recommend Molly to any pet owner who wants peace of mind and the highest standard of care for their pets. Thank you, Molly, for your outstanding service and for treating our dogs like yours!”

About: I am an animal lover. I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life as well as goats, chickens, and an occasional bird. I’ve also rescued and/or raised squirrels, rabbits, and a raccoon. I am retired so I have plenty of time to care for your babies. My baby (chihuahua) has epilepsy so I’m familiar with sticking to routines and administering oral medication. I am really quite a home body. I do a lot of crocheting. The only time that is not negotiable is the first and third Saturday 7:00am to 2:00pm of each month when I try to sell my crochet items at the farmers market. Other than those few hours I’m available to care for your babies needs. I’m trustworthy and clean. I will follow your wishes. I can crate your pet or sleep with it. I currently sleep with my chihuahua and my cat. I love to cuddle with them. My dogs are on a schedule for their medications so I would do the same for babies.

Carol is an awesome person. She took such great care of our little ole lady and understands pet anxieties. We were able to enjoy our trip worry free because we knew Carol was taking great care of our pitty. We will definitely be requesting Carol for any future needs.

Corey was absolutely amazing with George and Bosun! I wouldn’t hesitate to book Corey again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable Rover sitter!

Jessica and Brett were absolutely amazing with our pups! Two of our three dogs have trouble with strangers (one is fearful/shy and the other is very wary) and Jessica and Brett went out of their way to make them feel comfortable and earn their trust. I can't say enough good things about the both of them. They sent lots of pictures and updates and totally put us at ease while on our trip. I was anxious to leave them but they were in the best hands! Would 100% recommend them to anyone!

5 Stars - Molly is AMAZING! Molly stayed at our house to watch our dogs, and honestly, she's the best. Our pups absolutely loved her - and that's saying something because they're not easy to impress. She has this natural way with dogs that makes them feel like she's their best friend (which, let's be real, she basically is now). What really got us was how great she communicated throughout the whole time. We got updates, pics of the pack having the time of their lives, and zero stress on our end. She took great care of our home and our dogs like family. Our dogs are already asking when Molly's coming back. Seriously, if your pups need someone they can trust (and someone YOU can trust in your home), Molly's your person. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Inverness on Rover is $35.81 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 582 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Inverness. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Inverness walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Inverness maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Inverness choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
