My favorites are large dogs and blockheads (staffies, rotties, pit mixes), though a small dog sneaks in now and then (frenchies, Havanese, corgi, etc). I'm new to Rover but not to petsitting. Some arrive nervous, anxious, or unsure—maybe a potty accident in a new space, maybe hesitant to settle. My job is to help them feel safe, give them time to decompress, and meet them where they are. When they're ready, I'm here for play and snuggles. I have a fenced yard and my property backs up to a park. Dogs get regular walks, plus potty breaks. If a dog needs shorter, lower-key outings, we do on-leash trips to the park right behind the house. If your dog is reactive, we do backyard potty breaks and walk off-peak hours on a specific path to minimize potential sightings of other dogs.
