“Our doggies loved it! Highly recommend them. Very caring and knowledgeable! One of our dogs is very scared of loud noises like thunder storms and they comforted him like he was their own. Makes my heart melt to know how much they throughly and truly love dogs. Thank you so much!!”

“Robin took fantastic care of our baby and she was excellent about keeping us updated on how he was doing. We will definitely use her again and I’d highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I have owned animals my entire life from Chihuahua & stray cats to Great Danes and Sphynx. I Lived on a farm and can handle livestock as well as i volunteered at the Monroe reptile zoo for 3-4 yrs as a teen. Ive even breed snakes and geckos plus currently own tarantulas so I can help with most animal needs. I did go to Sno Isle tech for vet assisting and grooming during HS and can give basic meds. Plus have taken animal science, fisheries and hope to be enrolled in zoology online soon! If you need help with more then cats and dogs and you need an all in one kind of per sitter, im your lady! Im available 7 days a week and we can meet and chat more, I am available all hours of the day and night though I do work 3 hours per day at a school. But if you are flexible we can chat and see if its a good fit. Long walks, laser toys or playing in doors and in yards, whatever you and your pets need we can accommodate. I also do little box cleaning/small animal house cleaning, sweeping and vacuuming, plant watering and more.
“Julie was amazing with our dogs. She has a lot of land so they got to run to their hearts desire and even got to sleep in the bed with her. So spoiled! ❤️We received adorable photos and videos while we were gone. She even did some leash work with Theo, which he really needs and I noticed the difference already. She has trained a lot of dogs in the past and seems to be a dog whisperer. I would love to have her sit our dogs again. I think they will miss the free roam they got on her land. Thank you Julie!”

“Riitta’s house is oriented towards taking care of dogs and attending to their individual needs. Our guy, who is very social, LOVED having multiple dogs around all day as playmates. He was busy, well exercised and happy the whole time. Riitta did a great job of keeping us informed throughout our boy’s stay. It looked like 4 whole days at the Dog Park!”

“Victor took care of my 4-month-old Labrador puppy, Ginger, for a full week while I was on vacation, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Ginger is still very young—she isn’t fully potty trained or fully trained in general—so caring for her is truly a full-time job. Victor showed incredible patience, kindness, and dedication throughout. Ginger even ripped some of his dog’s toys, and he never once complained. He handled every challenge with understanding and care, and Ginger was clearly happy and well looked after. I’m extremely thankful to Victor and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable and compassionate to care for their pet.”

“Margaret and Michael were friendly and happy to show us around and answer questions during our meet-and-greet. Gus made himself right at home which convinced us he would be comfortable while we were gone. We appreciated the daily photos of Gus playing with other pups or relaxing in the house and yard. We also appreciated Margaret's timely communications and her flexibility. We were able to arrange a meet-and-greet on short notice. Margaret also accommodated an earlier drop-off than originally scheduled. Thank you Margaret and Michael! We would be happy to book a future stay.”

“Dawn was absolutely fantastic!! She was able to accommodate my dog last minute and is super amazing!!! Her place is a dog haven, with a lush yard and lots of shady tall trees. She sent me pupdates all weekend, and I could tell my dog was having a blast, and was super content and happy. Her pets are total sweethearts and they all got along great. An absolute gem, if you want the best for your pooch, look no further.”

“Jenny took care of our neighbor's dog Willow for us when we were taking care of it and had to leave unexpectedly for 3 days, the boarding experience went very well and she was very thoughtful and asked good questions prior to the boarding. Willow had a great time playing with her dog and when I came to pick her up Jenny had Willow's crate all packed up with her things and ready for me, which I really appreciated. Willow is a dog who can be anxious at times but it was obvious that she felt very comfortable with Jenny. We are pretty picky about who watches our pooches and are glad to have found someone in Gold Bar who we feel good about recommending or using for our own dogs.”
About: I have had small dogs my entire life and recently lost my beloved fur baby after 18 wonderful years together. Welcome all ages. I have extensive experience providing the extra love, patience, and care that older dogs need, including managing the challenges that come with aging. All of my dogs have lived beyond 15 years old, and I have personally experienced the many stages of senior care—from mobility changes and special routines to simply providing comfort, companionship, and a safe, loving environment. I understand that senior dogs require extra attention, and I treat every dog as a cherished member of the family. I currently work full time from home, which allows me to provide constant companionship, attention, and care throughout the day. Your beloved family member would never be left alone and would receive the same love, patience, and comfort that I have always given my own dogs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, and I would treat your dog as if they were my own. While I do not have a fenced yard, I provide a safe and supervised environment at all times. Your dog would always have my full attention and would either be right by my side or safely on a leash when outside. Their safety, comfort, and happiness would always be my top priority.
“Tracy took excellent care of Nicco. Tracy has years of experience raising and training dogs, and I felt very comfortable leaving Nicco in her care. Nicco fit in well with her family and her pack and seemed to really enjoy his time “on the farm.” I will definitely request to board again in the future!”

“We had a fantastic experience! My dog, Olive, absolutely loved staying here and was so well-cared for. It’s such a relief to find someone we can trust implicitly. Picking her up, she wanted to run back into their house! Highly recommend!”

“Zankhana was a wonderful sitter and will use her again. She provided a lot of updates and pics while she had Kevin which is exactly what I needed to put my mind at ease.”

“We left Luka with john during a long 4 week trip out of the country. We were initially a little apprehensive because this was the first time we were out for so long but John quickly put our worries at ease by sending us regular updates and photos. John was very thoughtful about all the little details and Luka seemed truly happy and comfortable.”
“We had a wonderful experience with Romy! She took excellent care of Uni and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We received regular updates, photos, and could tell our dog was happy, comfortable, and well loved. Romy was reliable, communicative, flexible and treated our dog like her own. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring sitter.”

“Rebecca was so kind to watch Grizzly on short notice and he had a BLAST playing with her pups. She’s reliable and communicative and we would recommend her to anyone!!”

“Natalie is amazing! My dog Ellie can struggle with anxiety and fear meeting new people/places, but she seemed immediately comfortable with Natalie during our meet and greet. She was very accommodating, asked great questions at drop off to make sure Ellie was comfortable, and provided updates and photos throughout the stay. We will definitely use her again, I think Ellie was sad to say goodbye.”

“This was the first time we had our female GSD stay with Lisa for 3 nights and she did all the right things to get our pup (who can have some anxiety with unfamiliar boarding situations) comfortable and happy. She gave us regular updates with photos, took our pup for tons of adventures/hikes and treated her like her own dog, which is about all you can ask for. Would highly recommend her if you’re looking for some quality 1v1 care for your pup!”

“Tunyi was awesome!!! Our pup loved her and her family. Sent us texts and videos the entire time while we were gone and we just knew Flo was being loved on❤️”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Index home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Index.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Index sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
