“First day when Lua arrived in Gerard’s house I knew she would enjoy, she looks like very happy with him, she had plenty of walk and Gerard updated me with photos every day. I would recommend him always. 🐾”

About: I love animals of all kinds. Growing up I always wanted to have a dog but my parents would not let me 🤭 Now as an adult I love taking care of other people’s animals ❤️ I love to walk everyday, so when I’m taking care of a pet I will take them with me on fun days outside. I work part-time in a flexible schedule, so I organize my routine based on the pets I'm taking care of. I've been taking care of both dogs and cats for 2 years. I live in a comfortable flat with my wife, with a small garden in the back and a fence. I have an organized home and a cleaning person who helps me from time to time
“Nadine and Raphael were fantastic. Our dog had an amazing time. She was looked after so well. She was brought to the beach, cliff walks and spent plenty of time in the park. Our dog is very high energy and she was well matched with Enzo. We'd highly recommend and book again in a heartbeat ☺️ They kept us updated everyday which really helped ease our nerves while away. Thanks so much guys!”
“Darren was great with my two dogs. They had a quick stay but from the pictures they were right at home. Great with their care and very helpful as one of the dogs needed some meds. Definitely will book again in the future!”

“Daniel minded our rescue Alfie when we were away for an event. He was wonderful with Alfie, a real dog lover, brought him for great walkies. He has a great space and is a real natural with dogs. Alfie is looking forward to his next adventure with Daniel!”

About: I have many years of experience as a dog owner and over the last few years have fostered many dogs and watched them go on to wonderful loving homes. I'm recently retired and love to get outdoors in the fresh air whatever the weather. If I have a dog or two with me even better. I have a lovely fenced garden with a gate that leads to a park. It's idyllic for dogs. There are also two beautiful parks nearby, where dogs can be let off the lead until 11am.
“This was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter, and we’re very happy we chose Chiara. We received many photos and videos, which helped us feel calm and confident that our dog was in safe and caring hands. Despite very rainy weather and even a storm, she took great care of the dogs, walking them in the inner courtyard and a dedicated dog area. They played ball, let the dogs run and play together, and even took our dog to a café. We’re extremely happy with the care and will definitely leave Margo with Chiara again!”

“Lorrayne was a wonderful dog sitter to our dog, Reggie. Reggie stayed with Lorrayne for 10 nights and he hasn't stayed with anyone outside of family before. Reggie was so well looked after and Lorrayne made him and us feel at ease. Lorrayne provided us with plenty of photo and video updates and gave Reggie extra care and attention. I would especially reccommend her if your dog is sensitive or you are leaving them with a sitter for the first time. Lorrayne is very organised and ensures that your pet has everything they need for their stay. When booking future holidays and trips abroad I will make sure that Lorrayne has availability as I was so pleased with Reggie's first stay with her.”

About: I like everything about animals. I grew up spending a lot of time in my family’s farm playing with dogs and cats, and other farm animals. 🐴🐈 I am super energetic and work with kids and as a soccer coach for a living. Playing with dogs and cats is one my favorite things to do in my spare time. I live in a comfortable flat with a backyard I’m studying in the morning and available after that. My routine is calm and flexible. During the weekends I’m also available when needed. I ensure a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet. I follow all owner instructions, maintain routines, and prioritize cleanliness, attention, and comfort so pets feel secure and happy.
“Djenifer and her partner looked after our Shiba puppy for the long weekend, and both of them took great care of her! Djenifer has dogs back home, so she knows how to cater for our fussy puppy's needs: fed her according to instruction, played with her and walked her. She also sent us loads of videos and images which was very reassuring, and always checked with us what our preferences are. Tae came back to us in a very happy mood. I 100% recommend Djenifer to all pet owners!”

About: I’ve had my first dog for over 10 years, and before my current pets I also had two other dogs and a cat. I truly love animals and have plenty of experience caring for them. Since my pets are not here with me in Ireland, I would be very happy to give love, attention, and care to your pets as if they were my own. At the moment, I work part-time for my own company, so I’m home most of the day and have plenty of time to give pets lots of attention, care, playtime, and company. I have a safe, clean, and comfortable home where pets can feel relaxed, cared for, and welcome during their stay. I always make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and a calm environment.
“Mariana took excellent care of Milly and kept us updated with lots of photos and videos. It was reassuring to see how well Milly was doing. We'd definitely recommend her and would happily use her services again.”

“Sara was amazing from start to finish, she minded our dog for just under 2 weeks and he was so well cared for. We got regular updates and could see from the photos that he was so happy, plenty of walks, playtime and he favourite, cuddles on the couch (think he might have managed to get on Sara's bed too 🙈😆) Would happily recommend Sara, 10/10 service and her great care of Toby meant we could relax and enjoy our holiday knowing he was being so very well looked after 💛 Thanks Sara 💛”

“Heitor Is awesome my little one loves him. She remembered him from last time so she started jumping which shows she likes him. That gave me comfort and regular updates with pictures also gave me peace of mind. 100% recommended without a doubt.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was very young, growing up with dogs, cats, a parrot, and even a turtle. I have experience with puppies, adult dogs, and senior pets, understanding their different needs and routine. I am currently working full time from home as an environment consultant. So I am flexible with my schedule and your dog’s routine a. I live in a large, secure condominium with plenty of outdoor spaces where your pet can explore. I’ve cared for pets of all ages, including puppies, adult dogs, and seniors, and I always adapt to their individual needs, routines, and energy levels.
“Lilian was great minding Millie. When I met her it was clear that she is very experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and showed great affection for Millie and her own dog Pepsi. It was obvious Millie was going to be well looked after. Communications throughout the dogminding was perfect and I had peace of mind that I didn't need to worry about Millie in my absence. Anyone would be lucky to have Lilian mind their doggie.”

Super experience and really happy to recommend Natalia who took wonderful care of both our dogs for just over 2 weeks while we were away. We got lots of daily updates and the dogs seem to have had a great time - lots of walks, lots of exercise and went to some pretty cool places also! Came home with 2 very happy and well minded dogs - Natalia will be our first port of call next time we need a dog sitter

What a find! From the very first message, Grace was easy to deal with and made the whole process stress free. Her own two dogs, Raven and Benson, welcomed Ruby right away, and she settled in like she was part of the family. Loads of photo updates throughout the stay, which I loved, you could just see how happy and relaxed she was. It really was a home from home for our dog Ruby. Can’t recommend highly enough. Ruby will absolutely be back!
Excellent dog sitter! You can tell when someone is a true dog lover and Pablo is. Harvey was so happy staying there with him, we got regular updates and that meant great peace of mind while we were away. Regular walks and Harvey was treated like one of the family. I would highly recommend Pablo and Harvey will be staying with him again.

Orla minded our 10-month-old dog Nell for 10 days recently. As it was Nell's first time to go to a dogminder we were quite concerned how she would settle in or if she would fret. However, we needn't have worried. Orla looked after Nell really well and kept us updated with texts and photos. Nell seemed to have enjoyed herself and returned to us happy and relaxed. Thank you, Orla.

So happy we found Matthew to mind Sammy while we were away! We had to find someone to look after our golden retriever at very short notice and Matthew really took the worry out of that. He is obviously very comfortable and experienced with dogs and Sammy was clearly happy from the moment he arrived. Matthew sent regular photos, videos and updates which we loved and as it was during the heat wave, he made sure that Sammy kept as cool as possible and took walks earlier in the day before it got too hot. Would not hesitate to leave Sammy with Matthew again! Thank you!
We couldn't have been happier with the wonderful care Amber gave our dog, Coco, while we were away for 10 days. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease, and throughout our holiday she kept us updated with lovely photos and messages, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear that Coco was happy, relaxed and receiving plenty of love and attention. When we collected him, he was content, healthy and clearly very well cared for. Amber is kind, reliable and genuinely loves animals, and it really shows in the way she looks after them. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter, and we will definitely be asking her to mind Coco again in the future. Thank you so much, Amber and her partner for taking great care of coco.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Dublin ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Many boarding sitters in Dublin can stay with their dogs most of the day, but it’s common for them to step out for short periods. Since every sitter’s schedule is unique, it’s important to agree on expectations before the stay begins. Adding the number of hours your dog can be alone to their profile will also help you find the right match.
If you are worried about your dog being alone, ask a sitter how they make a dog feel settled in a new environment. This can help your dog feel more comfortable.
If your dog cannot be left alone for more than a few hours, you may want to look for sitters who offer 24/7 care. Sitters who offer constant care are more likely to take on dogs who need frequent attention.
Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
