“Daniel was a lovely sitter for my dog and puppy. They looked so happy in the pictures he sent me and were clearly very comfortable with him. He obviously loves dogs. I will 100% use him again if I need someone to mind them.”

“I found Gerard to be a great dog sitter. He looked after my dog Archie who had a great time. Gerard sent me photos everyday of Archie on his walk or relaxing in the house. I would definitely use Gerard again as a sitter.”

“Heitor Is awesome my little one loves him. She remembered him from last time so she started jumping which shows she likes him. That gave me comfort and regular updates with pictures also gave me peace of mind. 100% recommended without a doubt.”

About: I have many years of experience as a dog owner and over the last few years have fostered many dogs and watched them go on to wonderful loving homes. I'm recently retired and love to get outdoors in the fresh air whatever the weather. If I have a dog or two with me even better. I have a lovely fenced garden with a gate that leads to a park. It's idyllic for dogs. There are also two beautiful parks nearby, where dogs can be let off the lead until 11am.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and love animals deeply. Living in Dublin, I can’t have one yet, but I’d love caring for yours, especially weekends. 🐾 Plenty of walks, cozy home time and a relaxed schedule just like mine. Available on weekend and I’ll dedicate plenty of time to your dogs. My home is brand new, fully secure and ideal for dogs used to indoor living, and no possibility of escaping. Garden right downstairs for quick potty breaks
“Nadine and Raphael were fantastic. Our dog had an amazing time. She was looked after so well. She was brought to the beach, cliff walks and spent plenty of time in the park. Our dog is very high energy and she was well matched with Enzo. We'd highly recommend and book again in a heartbeat ☺️ They kept us updated everyday which really helped ease our nerves while away. Thanks so much guys!”
“This was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter, and we’re very happy we chose Chiara. We received many photos and videos, which helped us feel calm and confident that our dog was in safe and caring hands. Despite very rainy weather and even a storm, she took great care of the dogs, walking them in the inner courtyard and a dedicated dog area. They played ball, let the dogs run and play together, and even took our dog to a café. We’re extremely happy with the care and will definitely leave Margo with Chiara again!”

“Lorrayne is an absolutely incredible pet sitter! I was quite anxious leaving my dog, Gruffalo, as he has a strict medication routine and detailed care instructions. Lorrayne went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. She perfectly tracked and followed his medication log using the printed copy I left behind, sending me updates to confirm everything was handled seamlessly. Throughout the stay, she was highly proactive—asking thoughtful questions about his nightly routine and potty schedule to keep him perfectly comfortable. I received frequent updates, photos, and sweet videos of him enjoying his walks and settling in beautifully. I can’t thank her enough for her dedication, flexibility, and genuine care. Just by looking at his expression in the photos I had full assurance he was in a safe and caring environment even without words. I highly recommend Lorrayne and will absolutely trust her with Gruffalo again!”

About: I have always loved animals and enjoy spending time caring for both dogs and cats. Friends, family, and neighbours have trusted me to look after their pets while they were away, making sure they were fed, exercised, comfortable, and happy. I understand that every pet has its own personality and routine, so I take the time to make them feel safe and loved. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply a quiet place to relax, I will provide attentive and personalized care. I offer a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment and will treat your pets as if they were my own. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in caring and responsible hands. I am currently fully available as I am on my summer break from college, so I have plenty of time and flexibility to take care of pets. I can easily manage feeding, walks, playtime, and any other needs they may have. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after at all times. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk schedules, and any special needs. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection so they feel relaxed and happy.
“Lilian was great minding Millie. When I met her it was clear that she is very experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and showed great affection for Millie and her own dog Pepsi. It was obvious Millie was going to be well looked after. Communications throughout the dogminding was perfect and I had peace of mind that I didn't need to worry about Millie in my absence. Anyone would be lucky to have Lilian mind their doggie.”

“Rosa is so kind and caring and looks after Pippa so well. We receive regular updates and plenty of photos too. Rosa has a large back garden which Pippa loves and goes on plenty of walks. Pippa always comes home happy and relaxed. Thanks again 🙏😊”
“Oliver and his family were very welcoming when they met Cosmo and I at an initial meet and greet. Their home is perfectly set up for pets as the living area leads directly out into the garden. It was very obvious very quickly that Oliver is a natural when it comes to connecting with dogs. Cosmo was immediately comfortable with Oliver and his family. I knew Cosmo would be in great hands. Oliver kept me up to date with photos and feedback which was extremely comforting for me and very much appreciated. It was great to see Cosmo enjoying her stay and that she was settling in without issue. I highly recommend Oliver to look after your dog if you want peace of mind and I will definitely be using Oliver again in the near future.”

“We had the most amazing experience with Bishka looking after Chloe 🐶💛 From the very beginning, it was clear how much Bishka genuinely loves dogs – she absolutely adored Chloe from the get-go, and that gave us so much confidence leaving her there. Chloe is elderly and quite particular, so it means a lot to see someone connect with her so naturally. We received super frequent photo and video updates throughout the stay 📸✨ which honestly made such a difference. It was so reassuring to see how happy and relaxed Chloe was – she was even doing zoomies which says a lot, because she doesn’t do them very often at her age 😂💨 By the time we came to pick her up, Chloe was having such a good time that we were half-worried she wouldn’t want to come home with us! 🥹 We would 100% recommend Bishka to anyone looking for a kind, attentive, and genuinely caring dog sitter 🐾💖 We’ll absolutely be booking with her again next time we need someone to look after Chloe. Thank you again, Bishka! 🌟”

“Silvana took great care of Gaspar over the bank holiday weekend. I'm very happy leaving him with her as I know he's is very safe hands. Gaspar was taken on his daily walks and Silvana updated me with photos. I highly recommend Silvana as an excellent dog sitter.”

Lovely couple, really recommend. Our dog Missy is quite anxious and gets separation anxiety but Breniely made her feel comfortable and happy! Was also delighted to get regular text updates letting us know how she was getting on. Will definitely be looking to arrange more boarding in the future! Thanks ❤️

I could not recommend them more! They took such amazing care of my dog and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. They sent so many adorable photos and updates, which meant the world to me and reassured me that my pups were happy and having the best time. It is obvious they genuinely love dogs. They gave my babies so much affection, cuddles, and attention. My dogs looked so relaxed, comfortable, and loved in every picture. I came home to a happy, well cared for pups and I will absolutely be booking with them again. If you are looking for someone who will treat your dog like family, they are the one!

Daniel took care of Thor during a weekend we were out and we highly recommend him since the communication was great and the whole time we were under the impression that he was taking great care of him. You can really tell he likes what he does :) thanks Daniel! We won’t hesitate to reach out again.

Tyra (Shih) took wonderful care of my little dog, Pimi. She’s a really kind person and always replies quickly — excellent communication. She also kept me updated throughout Pimi’s stay, which I truly appreciated because it put my mind at ease. Pimi had a great time with her, enjoyed plenty of walks, and loved spending time in the park. I recommend her 100%. As a bonus, Tyra’s husband is also very friendly and welcoming
Fantastic service, and can’t recommend enough 😊 This was our first time to have our dog minded outside family, and it could not have gone any better!!! Drop off was seamless and we got regular updates on a daily basis (pics and videos) of how he was doing. We would book again for our next trip 💞❤️ Thank you xx xx

Darragh took great care of our dog while we were away for a long weekend! He got to do all his favorite activities, play fetch, go to the beach, and lounge on the couch! We got so many cute photos and videos from Darragh. She was genuinely excited to have his company, and our dog was very happy about it too!

Pablo and Vicky minded my two dogs, Liam and Floki, and I’m really happy with the experience. They were lovely from the start, kept us updated, and made sure the dogs felt comfortable and well looked after. Their dog Mani is also lovely, and it was great that Liam and Floki had another dog around to spend time with and play. Liam can be quite anxious with new people, but Pablo and Vicky were very patient and kind, earned his trust and made him feel safe and comfortable, which I really appreciated. Both dogs came back happy and relaxed. I’d definitely recommend Pablo and Vicky and would happily leave Liam and Floki with them again. Thanks guys!
Hana did such a great job taking care of my dog Beesly! She took the time to meet us before which was so nice. Hana also sent lots of photos and videos, Beesly always was looking so happy and relaxed! Beesly can be reactive towards other dogs, but Hana was was confident and calm, and did a great job with handling Beesly’s reactivity on their walks. I would definitely book again with Hana.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Dublin ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Many boarding sitters in Dublin can stay with their dogs most of the day, but it’s common for them to step out for short periods. Since every sitter’s schedule is unique, it’s important to agree on expectations before the stay begins. Adding the number of hours your dog can be alone to their profile will also help you find the right match.
If you are worried about your dog being alone, ask a sitter how they make a dog feel settled in a new environment. This can help your dog feel more comfortable.
If your dog cannot be left alone for more than a few hours, you may want to look for sitters who offer 24/7 care. Sitters who offer constant care are more likely to take on dogs who need frequent attention.
Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
