“Gerard was extremely communicative and shared updates throughout our dog's stay. He was on top of food and supplements our dog takes, and managed everything well and without any problems!”

“Nadine took really good care of my dog. I got lovely updates and she was very responsive. It was easy to organise and my mind was at ease while I was away. Plus it was great knowing Wanda had some dog friends to hang out with as well. Highly recommend!”

“Heitor Is awesome my little one loves him. She remembered him from last time so she started jumping which shows she likes him. That gave me comfort and regular updates with pictures also gave me peace of mind. 100% recommended without a doubt.”

“Lilian was great minding Millie. When I met her it was clear that she is very experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and showed great affection for Millie and her own dog Pepsi. It was obvious Millie was going to be well looked after. Communications throughout the dogminding was perfect and I had peace of mind that I didn't need to worry about Millie in my absence. Anyone would be lucky to have Lilian mind their doggie.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have always loved having them as part of my life. I’m a caring, reliable and responsible dog lover who understands that every dog has their own personality and routine. I work from home, so I have plenty of time and flexibility to keep your dog company throughout the day. I love going for walks, playing, and giving dogs plenty of attention, cuddles and care. Whether your dog is energetic and loves adventures or prefers a quieter day with lots of company, I’ll make sure they feel happy, comfortable and well looked after. I’d love to welcome your furry friend and treat them like one of the family! 🐶❤️ I work from home so I have plenty of time to play with your dog, bring them for walks and toilet breaks. I’ll follow their usual routine and make sure they’re well cared for. I’ll also follow any specific feeding, medication or care instructions provided by the owner to ensure your pet feels happy, safe and comfortable. have a safe, fenced shared garden with my neighbours where dogs can spend time outside. I also live just a five-minute walk from the Phoenix Park, which is perfect for regular walks, exercise and playtime.

“Orla minded our 10-month-old dog Nell for 10 days recently. As it was Nell's first time to go to a dogminder we were quite concerned how she would settle in or if she would fret. However, we needn't have worried. Orla looked after Nell really well and kept us updated with texts and photos. Nell seemed to have enjoyed herself and returned to us happy and relaxed. Thank you, Orla.”

“Jaine stepped in at short notice to look after Cosmo, after we were let down by the sitter we were using. He took to her immediately and she took great care of him.!! Excellent care and minding by someone who cleatly knows and loves dogs.”

“Lorrayne was a wonderful dog sitter to our dog, Reggie. Reggie stayed with Lorrayne for 10 nights and he hasn't stayed with anyone outside of family before. Reggie was so well looked after and Lorrayne made him and us feel at ease. Lorrayne provided us with plenty of photo and video updates and gave Reggie extra care and attention. I would especially reccommend her if your dog is sensitive or you are leaving them with a sitter for the first time. Lorrayne is very organised and ensures that your pet has everything they need for their stay. When booking future holidays and trips abroad I will make sure that Lorrayne has availability as I was so pleased with Reggie's first stay with her.”

“I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough. Our dog was really well looked after and attended too, we got lots of updates, photos and even videos, which kept our kids very happy whilst we were away on holiday. If we are heading away again, I'd be trying to book Jessica again. Thank you so much!”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter, and we’re very happy we chose Chiara. We received many photos and videos, which helped us feel calm and confident that our dog was in safe and caring hands. Despite very rainy weather and even a storm, she took great care of the dogs, walking them in the inner courtyard and a dedicated dog area. They played ball, let the dogs run and play together, and even took our dog to a café. We’re extremely happy with the care and will definitely leave Margo with Chiara again!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life😊 My family pets are at home in Limerick, and I miss them terribly , So when I can have pets around I will! I am working hybrid so can work from home 3 days a week (I choose which). As such, I can have pets in my apartment while working from home, and can walk them before and after work, and during my hour lunch break. I don’t have a garden but have a shared area with grass in my apartment for toilet breaks. I’ve dealt with all types of pets so I know how to deal with nervous pets.
“Dovile and Josh were great sitters. Dovile is incredibly knowledgeable, understanding and patient. Our dog doesn't always settle without her owners, but Dovile assured us that Bridie would get plenty of time and space to adjust to her new environment. We got plenty of photos and updates too. Overall, Dovile & Josh are really great, friendly people to mind your pets. I'd highly recommend!”
About: Surrounded by animals my entire life (dogs, cats, and farm animals). My sister is a veterinarian in Brazil, which reinforces my commitment to animal welfare. I have always cared for my family's pets with genuine love and attention — walks, feeding, playtime, and affection. My home was a 'pet hotel' whenever my family traveled. I respect each animal's unique personality. I have two rescue dogs in Brazil who are my family. Ready to treat your pet as if it were my own. I work remotely, which gives me flexibility during the day to care for pets. I can provide walks, feeding, and companionship at times that work for you. I recently moved to Dublin and am establishing my routine, so I have availability to dedicate myself to pet care. My experience with multiple pets allows me to handle different needs — some require more attention, others prefer their own space. Your pet will receive quality time, regular walks, and genuine care. I offer flexibility in pet care. Having recently moved to Dublin, I can care for pets both at the owner's home and at mine (as needed and agreed). I'm experienced in hosting pets at my home — my family always used ours as a 'pet hotel' when traveling, and I treat each animal with the same care I give my own. I have two rescue dogs in Brazil (Sig and Jane, whom I'll bring to Dublin soon) and understand different animals' needs. If you prefer me to care for your pet at my place, I can provide walks, feeding, companionship, and playtime. If you prefer me to visit your home, I can do the same while maintaining your pet's routine. I work remotely, so I have availability to offer genuine attention in either setting
About: Hi there! I grew up with a cat and two dogs. I have volunteered with the dog and cat shelter at the DSPCA, and last year I fostered a dog with the ISPCA, training him until he got adopted. I have taken care of dogs for 7 years on-and-off via the “borrow my doggy” app too. I work full time in Health and Wellbeing with the HSE. I work from home Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Tuesday afternoons. I love to take care of dogs to keep me busy and active I have a large walled garden shared with the neighbours in the building, I also have a car if your dog would like to go on any adventures, perhaps around the mountains. I also live near a great dog park

About: Hi! I’m Elena, and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with my grandparents’ English Setter, Rocky, who was by my side from the day I was born, so some of my happiest childhood memories involve having a four-legged best friend around. Later, my family rescued Alaska, our cat, when she was just one month old and raised her from a tiny kitten. Today I live with my own cat, Zuki, whom we adopted at 2 years old — she’s now 4 and very much a pillar of our little family! While I don’t have professional pet-care experience, I have a lifetime of experience living with and caring for animals. I genuinely love being around them — making an animal feel happy, safe and loved brings me just as much joy as it seems to bring them. I believe every pet is different, so my care is always tailored to their normal routine and personality. Visits can include feeding and fresh water, walks, litter cleaning, playtime, cuddles, quiet company or simply keeping them comfortable while you’re away. I’m also very happy to send you photos and little updates! I’m most comfortable caring for cats and small to medium-sized dogs. I prefer to only take on pets I’m confident I can care for safely and properly, so you can trust that I’ll always be honest about whether I’m the right sitter for your pet. I work on a rotating roster, which actually gives me flexibility across both weekdays and weekends. I can travel to your home and can also stay overnight when needed. Most importantly, I’ll care for your pet with the patience, attention and affection I would want someone to give my own. ❤️🐾 I work on a rotating roster rather than a traditional Monday–Friday schedule, which gives me flexibility across both weekdays and weekends. My availability changes depending on my shifts, but I’m happy to discuss dates and find a time that works for both you and your cat. I can offer home visits and house sitting, depending on your needs. I’m also happy to follow your cat’s usual feeding, play and bedtime routine as closely as possible, so their days feel as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away. For cat sitting, I believe the best place for a cat is usually their own familiar home. I’ll take the time to understand your cat’s routine, personality, feeding instructions and any little things you’d like me to know before you leave. I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water, a clean litter tray and plenty of attention, while always respecting their boundaries if they prefer some space. I’ll also be careful with doors, windows and access to the home, and I’ll treat your house with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’m happy to send regular photos and updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your cat is safe, comfortable and cared for.
About: I have experience caring for family dogs and have looked after many dogs over the years. I am comfortable with different breeds and personalities and always make sure dogs feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I work from home, so I’ll be able to spend the whole day with the dog and take him/her for walks during my breaks. My boyfriend works until 4 p.m., so he’ll be home afterwards. We have a fenced yard with plenty of space for the dog to play and run around. Our neighbourhood is very quiet, and we have several parks nearby, which are perfect for walks and play.
“Aisha was the perfect host for our nervous and reactive lurcher. She really made her feel at home and was in regular contact with updates. We got delayed coming back and she was very accommodating to our situation. Couldn't recommend more.”

Karen and Mark took great care of our pup while we were away, I would have no hesitation in recommending them or using them again. We received regular pics / videos, and it was very clear they loved and minded Bruno as they would one of their own. He came back looking very healthy and happy. We are beyond grateful 🐶

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after Winnie! 🥰 Kristina was absolutely amazing, and both she and her son Matt treated Winnie with so much love and care. Kristina made us feel completely comfortable and reassured, and it was so clear that Winnie was happy, relaxed and very well looked after throughout her stay. A huge thank you to both Kristina and Matt, we couldn’t recommend her highly enough! 🐶❤️

Anita took care of my five-month-old Chihuahua puppy for two weeks. It was the first time my puppy had been away from home since I got her, so naturally I was quite anxious about leaving her for that long. However, Anita did a phenomenal job, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My puppy came home noticeably more mature and settled. Some behaviours we had been struggling with before, particularly biting hands, had completely disappeared. Anita had even taught her new things, including staying in her bed and playing with a toy on command, which was such a lovely surprise. Throughout the two weeks, Anita kept me updated every day with messages, photos and videos, which gave me so much reassurance. It was also very apparent from the way she cared for my puppy that she genuinely loves animals and really enjoys spending time with them. I’m incredibly grateful to Anita and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog. I would leave my puppy with her again in a heartbeat.

Livi and her family were fantastic. They looked after Cali so well. Cali was really happy with Livi. I loved that Livi sent me updates and photos of my dog, letting me know that she was well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Livi and I will definitely ask her to mind Cali again.
Flavie was an excellent friend and minder for our rescue dog Toby. He's little bit nervous but she was very gentle and understanding with him and they quickly became firm friends. he got sick while we were on holiday and flame managed the emergency vet situation very professionally. Highly recommended and we'l be very happy to have her shot Toby again soon. And we know he'll enjoy it too!
I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough. Our dog was really well looked after and attended too, we got lots of updates, photos and even videos, which kept our kids very happy whilst we were away on holiday. If we are heading away again, I'd be trying to book Jessica again. Thank you so much!

Bernadette was an absolute joy to deal with from start to finish. She took such incredible care of my pup and made sure every one of his needs was catered to. He was truly treated like royalty! He got plenty of exercise, lots of love and attention, and I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. It was clear how much Bernadette genuinely loves and understands dogs. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough, especially to anyone with a pup who has special needs. She goes above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my dog with her again. Five stars all the way!
We wildly recommend Karina. She and Nicoli just love dogs. Our little ones (two Dachshunds) had a great time with them and I can tell by seeing them that the dogs felt at home. In all our travels, Karina was in touch with us, sending nice pictures that pleased us greatly. All the communication was great. Thanks so much for everything!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Dublin ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Many boarding sitters in Dublin can stay with their dogs most of the day, but it’s common for them to step out for short periods. Since every sitter’s schedule is unique, it’s important to agree on expectations before the stay begins. Adding the number of hours your dog can be alone to their profile will also help you find the right match.
If you are worried about your dog being alone, ask a sitter how they make a dog feel settled in a new environment. This can help your dog feel more comfortable.
If your dog cannot be left alone for more than a few hours, you may want to look for sitters who offer 24/7 care. Sitters who offer constant care are more likely to take on dogs who need frequent attention.
Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
