“Ha sido muy fácil todo con Gerard, a cuidado a nuestro perro durante 4 dias y todo ha sido genial, nuestro perro muy contento y nosotros tambien al poder estar 4 dias de vacaciones con la tranquilidad de que estaba cuidando muy bien a nuestro perro. Recomiendo a Gerard sin duda alguna, muchisimas gracias!”

“Nadine took really good care of my dog. I got lovely updates and she was very responsive. It was easy to organise and my mind was at ease while I was away. Plus it was great knowing Wanda had some dog friends to hang out with as well. Highly recommend!”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter, and we’re very happy we chose Chiara. We received many photos and videos, which helped us feel calm and confident that our dog was in safe and caring hands. Despite very rainy weather and even a storm, she took great care of the dogs, walking them in the inner courtyard and a dedicated dog area. They played ball, let the dogs run and play together, and even took our dog to a café. We’re extremely happy with the care and will definitely leave Margo with Chiara again!”

“Heitor Is awesome my little one loves him. She remembered him from last time so she started jumping which shows she likes him. That gave me comfort and regular updates with pictures also gave me peace of mind. 100% recommended without a doubt.”

“Lilian was great minding Millie. When I met her it was clear that she is very experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and showed great affection for Millie and her own dog Pepsi. It was obvious Millie was going to be well looked after. Communications throughout the dogminding was perfect and I had peace of mind that I didn't need to worry about Millie in my absence. Anyone would be lucky to have Lilian mind their doggie.”

“Anita took great care of Nico over the weekend. She kept me updated, was very kind and patient with him, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would happily recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again.”

“Orla minded our 10-month-old dog Nell for 10 days recently. As it was Nell's first time to go to a dogminder we were quite concerned how she would settle in or if she would fret. However, we needn't have worried. Orla looked after Nell really well and kept us updated with texts and photos. Nell seemed to have enjoyed herself and returned to us happy and relaxed. Thank you, Orla.”

About: I am Flavie, I am 25 years old, I have lived in Dublin for two years in a roommate with my colleague Riley and my partner Grégoire who, like me, is French. I am a manager in a café in Rathmines, so I am quite flexible on my schedule. And I can afford to make the schedules according to the care I do. I was always surrounded by animals during my childhood, (friends, neighbours, uncles and aunts) but my parents never wanted to have animals at home. However, 7 years ago we picked up a little cat who still lives with us. I also used to take little walks with the dogs of friends and neighbours to earn pocket money when I was younger. I can easily adapt my routine to the animal I'm pet sitting, since I manage the schedule. My roommate, Riley, also works with me at the café, so we can arrange her shift so she doesn't work and can keep an eye on your pet if the stay lasts for several days. In case no one is at home, the café hours are very flexible, ranging from 7 AM to 5 PM, or 10 AM to 2 PM. And as mentioned before, I can always adapt based on the pet I’m looking after, as long as the booking is made in advance For me, the pet's safety and well-being are top priorities. I also believe it’s essential for them to always have someone around. I pay close attention to the owner’s instructions, but also to the pet's reactions and behavior (during walks, feeding time, playtime, etc.). It’s very important to me that they feel comfortable with me and in their environment. Furthermore, I live in the Rathmines area, just a few minutes away from several parks and green spaces. If it’s a dog, they will always be kept on a leash and by my side. Of course, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. That’s why I always do my absolute best for both you and your animal.
“Lucy stayed with Joyce for a week and had an amazing time. I received pictures during her stay which made me feel at ease. Joyce was a lovely lady to deal with and I instantly felt comfortable leaving my girl with her. I would highly recommend and will be using Joyce again in the future. ”

“Bishka took amazing care of my baby Belle while i was away, gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in safe hands & also loved being sent photos / videos over the weekend made missing her a lot easier! Would highly recommend:)”

About: Hi there! I grew up with a cat and two dogs. I have volunteered with the dog and cat shelter at the DSPCA, and last year I fostered a dog with the ISPCA, training him until he got adopted. I have taken care of dogs for 7 years on-and-off via the “borrow my doggy” app too. I work full time in Health and Wellbeing with the HSE. I work from home Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Tuesday afternoons. I love to take care of dogs to keep me busy and active I have a large walled garden shared with the neighbours in the building, I also have a car if your dog would like to go on any adventures, perhaps around the mountains. I also live near a great dog park
“Rosa is so kind and caring and looks after Pippa so well. We receive regular updates and plenty of photos too. Rosa has a large back garden which Pippa loves and goes on plenty of walks. Pippa always comes home happy and relaxed. Thanks again 🙏😊”
About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was very young, growing up with dogs, cats, a parrot, and even a turtle. I have experience with puppies, adult dogs, and senior pets, understanding their different needs and routine. I am currently working full time from home as an environment consultant. Gerard was fantastic with Ryder, it was our first time to leave Ryder with anyone and Gerard provided daily updates including photos and videos to give us reassurance that he was fine, as we were worried as to how Ryder would react to being away from us, we would highly recommend and will 100% be us him again if we’re going away!

I cannot recommend Jessica highly enough. Our dog was really well looked after and attended too, we got lots of updates, photos and even videos, which kept our kids very happy whilst we were away on holiday. If we are heading away again, I'd be trying to book Jessica again. Thank you so much!

Mortimer, our Old English Sheepdog, had an amazing time with Vinicius. He took great care of him and sent us messages and photos to reassure us that Mortimer was safe and comfortable. Any dog who stays with Vinicius is very lucky. He is thoughtful and kind and welcoming. He took great care of our dog’s feeding and exercise routine. We really hope our dog, Mortimer, gets to have doggie holidays with him again.
I don’t leave my dog with just anybody and I always ensure to do a meet and greet beforehand. From the minute I met Vinicius, I felt confident and happy that my dog would be well cared for. Vinicius is passionate about dogs and loves big dogs (which is great for me, as my dog is 50kg). I would highly recommend Vinicius and will definitely use his services again

Bernadette was an absolute joy to deal with from start to finish. She took such incredible care of my pup and made sure every one of his needs was catered to. He was truly treated like royalty! He got plenty of exercise, lots of love and attention, and I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. It was clear how much Bernadette genuinely loves and understands dogs. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough, especially to anyone with a pup who has special needs. She goes above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my dog with her again. Five stars all the way!
We wildly recommend Karina. She and Nicoli just love dogs. Our little ones (two Dachshunds) had a great time with them and I can tell by seeing them that the dogs felt at home. In all our travels, Karina was in touch with us, sending nice pictures that pleased us greatly. All the communication was great. Thanks so much for everything!

Lorrayne took such amazing care of our little French Bulldog, Frank, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. We received loads of photos and videos throughout his stay, it was lovely to see him playing and having such a great time. It was clear he was well looked after and felt completely at home - he honestly didn't want to leave when we came to pick him up! We had total peace of mind while we were away, and we'll definitely be booking again for our next trip. Highly recommended!

Rosa looked after our Pippa last weekend and Pippa yet again had an amazing time. Unfortunately Pippa was a little unwell before her arrival but Rosa reassured us that it would be no issue and she took great care of Pippa going above bad beyond. Thanks so much again Rosa you are the best ♥️
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Darren! He looked after our cocker spaniel, Zoe, for 3 nights, and we felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. He kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear that Zoe was happy, well cared for, and getting lots of attention. When we picked her up, she was relaxed and looked like she had a great time. Darren is reliable, caring, and clearly loves dogs. We would definitely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter!

Sara was amazing from start to finish, she minded our dog for just under 2 weeks and he was so well cared for. We got regular updates and could see from the photos that he was so happy, plenty of walks, playtime and he favourite, cuddles on the couch (think he might have managed to get on Sara's bed too 🙈😆) Would happily recommend Sara, 10/10 service and her great care of Toby meant we could relax and enjoy our holiday knowing he was being so very well looked after 💛 Thanks Sara 💛

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Dublin ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Many boarding sitters in Dublin can stay with their dogs most of the day, but it’s common for them to step out for short periods. Since every sitter’s schedule is unique, it’s important to agree on expectations before the stay begins. Adding the number of hours your dog can be alone to their profile will also help you find the right match.
If you are worried about your dog being alone, ask a sitter how they make a dog feel settled in a new environment. This can help your dog feel more comfortable.
If your dog cannot be left alone for more than a few hours, you may want to look for sitters who offer 24/7 care. Sitters who offer constant care are more likely to take on dogs who need frequent attention.
Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
