“Lilian was great minding Millie. When I met her it was clear that she is very experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and showed great affection for Millie and her own dog Pepsi. It was obvious Millie was going to be well looked after. Communications throughout the dogminding was perfect and I had peace of mind that I didn't need to worry about Millie in my absence. Anyone would be lucky to have Lilian mind their doggie.”

About: Hi! I’m Minji, and I’ve been living with my two dogs for over 6 years. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities and energy levels. I have two very different dogs of my own — one is active and loves long walks and adventures, while the other prefers a calmer lifestyle. They are both friendly, well-socialised and used to meeting new dogs while respecting their space, helping create a calm and relaxed environment for visiting dogs. We live in a house with a fully enclosed back garden, and dogs staying with us can freely enjoy the house (except our bedroom) and garden. We’re close to several parks and go for two walks every day. On weekends, with your permission, we can also enjoy longer walks, beach trips or hikes. We only care for one family’s dog(s) at a time, so I can give each dog plenty of individual attention and care. I’ll follow your dog’s usual feeding, walking and medication routines as closely as possible, and send daily photos and activity updates so you know how they’re doing. Meet & Greets are always welcome! I want both you and your dog to feel comfortable before their stay. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, loved and at home while you’re away Our daily routine includes two walks; morning and evening. On weekends, if the weather allows, I usually take the dogs to hiking for 1-2hours, and go to nearby cafe for puppuchino. I live in a house with a fully enclosed garden where dogs can safely relax and play. My two dogs are friendly, calm and well-socialised around other dogs. I only care for one family at a time so your dog receives personalised attention and care.

“I could not have asked for better from the moment we arrived I knew Charlie would fit in perfectly. I was kept updated daily with photos which was lovely to see. I was so lucky to have found Winnie and will definitely booking again as this was the first time I had used this service 💯 recommend 👌”

“Mariana did a fantastic job of looking after my 7 month old puppy, Buddy. It was his first time staying away from me and Mariana immediately put him at ease and he seemed to love his time with her. She kept me updated on his progress which was great and meant I didn't need to worry. I couldn't recommend Mariana highly enough and Buddy will definitely be going back to stay with her again.”

“Gerard was fantastic with Ryder, it was our first time to leave Ryder with anyone and Gerard provided daily updates including photos and videos to give us reassurance that he was fine, as we were worried as to how Ryder would react to being away from us, we would highly recommend and will 100% be us him again if we’re going away!”

“We had a wonderful experience Haley. She was very kind, caring, and clearly loves dogs. Our dog, Buddy was very happy throughout the stay and especially loved playing with her dog. It was great to know our dog was in such a friendly and welcoming environment. We would happily recommend Haley and will definitely book Buddy in for our next trip away.”

About: I have over one year of experience caring for dogs here in Ireland and have looked after dogs with different personalities, sizes, and routines. Before moving abroad, I always had dogs of my own, so caring for animals has been a natural part of my life for many years. I’ve always been used to the responsibility, attention, and daily care that dogs need to feel happy, safe, and loved. I provide a calm, safe, and caring environment where dogs receive plenty of attention, companionship, regular walks, playtime, and a consistent routine throughout the day. I understand how important it is for owners to feel comfortable leaving their pets with someone trustworthy, so I always do my best to make each dog feel relaxed and at home. I live in my own apartment in a quiet and safe area, with a park directly in front of my home, which is perfect for walks and outdoor time. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages during their stay for extra peace of mind My work schedule is flexible, which allows me to spend quality time with the dogs in my care during both weekdays and weekends. Dogs staying with me will have regular walks, attention, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. They will usually go out at least three times a day, and on my days off I have even more flexibility to adapt to their routine and needs. Creating a calm, safe, and loving environment is very important to me when caring for dogs. I live in a quiet area with plenty of space nearby for walks, including a park directly in front of my home, which is perfect for outdoor time and exercise. I always pay close attention to each dog’s behaviour, routine, and comfort level to help them settle in and feel relaxed during their stay. Whether they are energetic and playful or more calm and shy, I adapt to their personality and needs. I also make sure owners feel comfortable by providing updates, photos, and good communication throughout the stay .

We received daily updates of Molly through videos and pictures which made us feel very much at ease as we could see she was getting on great. We highly recommend Natalia for any service as she was incredibly caring and loving towards our Molly during her stay :) We will definitely be using Natalia the next time we need Molly minded!”

About: Having just lost my best friend Quincey, I want to open up my home to any other dogs that need some doggy sitting 🖤 My home is warm and cosy, and I have everything here that's needed to look after your little dog. As I've had a dog here for years, the place is definitely dog proof! Lots of comfy corners for your dog to relax in. I am a big walker, so will have your dog out and about to get lots of exercise (but if they're not that way inclined, I can couch rot too!) I'm close to Phoenix Park where I loved to go with Quincey every day, but also 3 more local parks. I also have a fully enclosed back garden for quick toilet breaks. We would also always go for big walks in the Wicklow Mountains, or down to one of our gorgeous beaches - if you're comfortable with me bringing your dog to these spots, I would be more than happy to do so! You can be sure your dog will get so much love in my home, please get in touch if you think you'd like to discuss doggy sitting or boarding any time. X I work from home 3 days a week, and have flexibility around which days I want to take. So it would be rare that your dog would be left alone for longer than a few hours. I'm only a short cycle away from the office! My garden is fully enclosed so they are free to roam and sniff around the place. Happy for them to sleep in the bed if that's what they're used to 😅
“Amanda and her partner were amazing with Spirit, This is Spirit's 2nd time to board with them both and I have to say They were phenomal, caring, kind and loving and would highly recommend Amanda. Always sent me photos and checked in with me to keep me updated 😊😊😊”
“Renata was so lovely and took great care of Leo this weekend! It was such a comfort knowing he was being well looked after while we were away. We really appreciate her taking care of him and would love for her to look after Leo again. Thanks so much, Renata! ❤️🐾”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, including small and large dogs such as Beagles, Spaniels, German Pointers and Alsatians, as well as cats. While at university in the Netherlands, I spent four years pet sitting and dog walking, caring for both puppies and mature dogs as well as cats. I’m comfortable with different breeds, sizes and personalities, and love getting to know each pet’s individual routine and needs. I’m an active person who loves walking and running, so I’d be very happy to have a four-legged companion join me on suitable walks or runs. I also have a spacious ground-floor apartment with easy access to outdoor space, making it a comfortable home-from-home for pets. I work from home full-time, so I have plenty of flexibility throughout the day to give your pet attention, walks, playtime and company. I’m able to fit pet care around my working schedule and can accommodate regular walks, drop-ins and boarding. I also love getting outdoors, so dogs staying with me can enjoy plenty of walks and time outside, depending on their usual routine and needs. I live in a secure, well-maintained complex with a fenced patio and a spacious ground-floor apartment, giving pets a comfortable and secure environment. I’m also just beside Phoenix Park, so there are plenty of lovely walking routes nearby. I take pet safety seriously and would follow your instructions closely around feeding, walks, routines and any specific needs your pet has.
About: Hi! I’m a dog-loving mom in my mid-30s living with my young family of four in a peaceful countryside setting. We’re lucky to have five acres of land, including two and a half acres that are fully fenced—perfect for safe, supervised play and exploring. We’re also just a short distance from the beach (less than 2km away), where I walk daily with our dog. Your dog will enjoy plenty of fresh air, exercise, and stimulation as part of our routine. We have a friendly, young Golden Retriever Rough Collie cross who is playful, gentle, and gets along really well with other dogs. Our home is very much a dog-loving environment, and any visiting dog will be treated like part of the family. I also have several years of experience volunteering with assistance dogs, where I trained three puppies who went on to support families. This has given me a strong understanding of dog behaviour, training, and care. Your dog will be in safe, caring, and experienced hands with us. Both myself and my husband, Ciaran, work from home so someone will always be around to care for your pet. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well looked after. Our home has a consistent and flexible routine, with plenty of company throughout the week. I work from home three days a week, and my husband works from home on the other two, so there is always someone around to supervise, care for, and spend time with the dogs. We’re very active day-to-day. I take our dog out for one to two walks daily, often including trips to the nearby beach, as well as time exploring our private land. At home, dogs have access to over two and a half acres of fully fenced garden and an attached field, giving them lots of safe space to run, play, and relax. Between walks, outdoor time, and being part of family life indoors, dogs staying with us enjoy a balanced routine of exercise, stimulation, and rest. Dogs staying with us are welcomed as one of our own, sharing our home and daily life. They can relax indoors with the family or enjoy plenty of time outside playing and exploring at their own pace.

My girlfriend works from home so she’s able to supervise your pet, take them out, and have frequent play breaks! Our dog is part of our family and we’d love to help take care of yours too. My girlfriend works from home so she can supervise your pet during the day! We would plan around them on weekends and bring them out with us if we go somewhere if that is okay with you! We live in a neighbourhood with a park and walking trail, so your dog would have plenty of options to walk around and enjoy the outdoors!
“Nadine and Raphael were fantastic. Our dog had an amazing time. She was looked after so well. She was brought to the beach, cliff walks and spent plenty of time in the park. Our dog is very high energy and she was well matched with Enzo. We'd highly recommend and book again in a heartbeat ☺️ They kept us updated everyday which really helped ease our nerves while away. Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for Dog Boarding in Ashbourne on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Meath ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.
Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.
Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
