“Lilian was great minding Millie. When I met her it was clear that she is very experienced and knowledgeable with dogs and showed great affection for Millie and her own dog Pepsi. It was obvious Millie was going to be well looked after. Communications throughout the dogminding was perfect and I had peace of mind that I didn't need to worry about Millie in my absence. Anyone would be lucky to have Lilian mind their doggie.”

“Gerard was extremely communicative and shared updates throughout our dog's stay. He was on top of food and supplements our dog takes, and managed everything well and without any problems!”

About: Hi! I’m Minji, and I’ve been living with my two dogs for over 6 years. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities and energy levels. I have two very different dogs of my own — one is active and loves long walks and adventures, while the other prefers a calmer lifestyle. They are both friendly, well-socialised and used to meeting new dogs while respecting their space, helping create a calm and relaxed environment for visiting dogs. We live in a house with a fully enclosed back garden, and dogs staying with us can freely enjoy the house (except our bedroom) and garden. We’re close to several parks and go for two walks every day. On weekends, with your permission, we can also enjoy longer walks, beach trips or hikes. We only care for one family’s dog(s) at a time, so I can give each dog plenty of individual attention and care. I’ll follow your dog’s usual feeding, walking and medication routines as closely as possible, and send daily photos and activity updates so you know how they’re doing. Meet & Greets are always welcome! I want both you and your dog to feel comfortable before their stay. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, loved and at home while you’re away Our daily routine includes two walks; morning and evening. On weekends, if the weather allows, I usually take the dogs to hiking for 1-2hours, and go to nearby cafe for puppuchino. I live in a house with a fully enclosed garden where dogs can safely relax and play. My two dogs are friendly, calm and well-socialised around other dogs. I only care for one family at a time so your dog receives personalised attention and care.

About: I absolutely adore dogs and love nothing more in life than spending time making their lives as pampered as possible. I have experience with all ages, temperaments and also can cater for medical and behavioural needs. I have a certificate in Dog heath: dog breeds and basic anatomy. I'm currently working part time as a teacher so will have plenty of time to pamper your pooches. I'm available weekends from early morning and some days from 2pm until late. I have a walled garden and two friendly labradors who will love to keep your pet company if wanted. There is no area off limits in my home so your dog can have their pick of where they want to rest and play.
About: Hi! I’m a dog-loving mom in my mid-30s living with my young family of four in a peaceful countryside setting. We’re lucky to have five acres of land, including two and a half acres that are fully fenced—perfect for safe, supervised play and exploring. We’re also just a short distance from the beach (less than 2km away), where I walk daily with our dog. Your dog will enjoy plenty of fresh air, exercise, and stimulation as part of our routine. We have a friendly, young Golden Retriever Rough Collie cross who is playful, gentle, and gets along really well with other dogs. Our home is very much a dog-loving environment, and any visiting dog will be treated like part of the family. I also have several years of experience volunteering with assistance dogs, where I trained three puppies who went on to support families. This has given me a strong understanding of dog behaviour, training, and care. Your dog will be in safe, caring, and experienced hands with us. Both myself and my husband, Ciaran, work from home so someone will always be around to care for your pet. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well looked after. Our home has a consistent and flexible routine, with plenty of company throughout the week. I work from home three days a week, and my husband works from home on the other two, so there is always someone around to supervise, care for, and spend time with the dogs. We’re very active day-to-day. I take our dog out for one to two walks daily, often including trips to the nearby beach, as well as time exploring our private land. At home, dogs have access to over two and a half acres of fully fenced garden and an attached field, giving them lots of safe space to run, play, and relax. Between walks, outdoor time, and being part of family life indoors, dogs staying with us enjoy a balanced routine of exercise, stimulation, and rest. Dogs staying with us are welcomed as one of our own, sharing our home and daily life. They can relax indoors with the family or enjoy plenty of time outside playing and exploring at their own pace.

About: After nearly 15 wonderful years with Persa, our beloved Yorkie, we truly understand that a dog isn't just a pet, but a cherished member of the family. While we aren't quite ready to welcome a new dog of our own full-time just yet, we deeply miss having a furry companion around the house and would love to care for yours! Having cared for our Yorkie through every stage of life—from high-energy puppyhood to her gentle senior years—we have extensive experience catering to dogs of all personalities, ages, and needs. What you can expect when your dog stays with us: Tailored Care & Attention: Whether your dog thrives on high-energy playtime or needs a peaceful, quiet space to rest and snooze, we adjust entirely to their natural pace and routine. Safe & Secure Space: We have a fully enclosed, secure back garden perfect for frequent, safe toilet breaks and fresh-air sniffing sessions. Medical & Senior Care: We are completely comfortable and experienced with administering medication, adhering to strict dietary needs, and giving senior dogs the gentle, patient care they deserve. Peace of Mind: You’ll receive regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your pup is happy, comfortable, and treated like family. We know how hard it can be to leave your dog behind, and we treat every guest with the exact same love, patience, and attention we gave our own dog for 15 years. We both work on a hybrid schedule, and we will ensure that at least one of us will be working from home full-time whenever we are caring for your dog, ensuring they are never left unattended. Our typical day is naturally structured around dog care: Morning: An early walk to start the day. Mid-day: A shorter lunchtime walk and playtime to break up the afternoon. Evening: A longer, relaxing evening walk (weather permitting!) to wind down. Throughout the day, our fully secure back garden allows for frequent, stress-free toilet breaks and quick sniffing sessions whenever needed. While this is our standard flow, we know every dog is unique. We are always happy to adjust this schedule to match your dog's normal routine as closely as possible. We have a fully fenced back garden that offers a safe, enclosed environment for frequent toilet breaks, sunbathing, and fresh-air play throughout the day. Beyond our garden, we live just a short walk from a lovely local park, giving your dog plenty of open, green space to explore, exercise, and enjoy all the good sniffs!
“The moment we met with Niamh we knew our cocker spaniel boy Otso was in excellent hands! Niamh was kind, caring and obviously very knowledgeable about dogs. Otso settled in happily straight away. While away Niamh sent us lovely photos and comments on how Otso was getting on. We were more than happy with the service Niamh and Dan provided, it truly was a home away from home experience for our beloved pet. Thank you so much Niamh and Dan! Maurice & Merja”

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Marisa. I was ridiculously nervous and anxious leaving little Burger with someone for the first time, but from the moment we dropped him off I felt completely reassured. Marisa was so good with Burger, she sent us lots of photos and updates over the weekend and it was clear from every picture that Burger was comfortable, happy and being so well cared for. You can tell Marisa adores dogs and really cares. When we collected Burger he was totally happy and settled there which meant the world. We are beyond grateful to Marisa for taking such good care of him and would 100% be happy to leave Burger with Marisa again, can't recommend her highly enough <3”

“A huge thank you to Jennifer for taking such great care of our Teddy! 🐾 We left our beloved toy poodle Teddy for a week, and I was really nervous because he is a true member of our family. But all my worries disappeared from the very first day! Jennifer regularly sent photos and videos, updating us on how they were spending their time. Teddy was surrounded by love, care, and playtime, and he felt completely comfortable. It was clear that he was treated like one of their own pets. I am endlessly grateful for such a professional, caring, and heartfelt approach. We will definitely trust you with Teddy again! I recommend you with all my heart! 🤍✨”

About: I’ve always taken care of dogs for family and friends so why not help out in my community. I’ve always had dogs growing up and can’t imagine a home without one.I love dogs so much when I moved to Australia and unexpectedly recused a staffy that I ended up flying home with me when I moved back to Ireland. After he passed a few years later I got another staffy mix I just think they are the most loyal dogs and great company. Our family dog is a Shih Tzu Maisie and my George and Maisie are besties, little and large. I’ve been experience with a lot of breeds and treat them all with so much love. I’m currently on maternity leave so have time to mind dogs in my home and we do a lot of walks everyday, we love getting out and about and getting the steps in. I have a fenced garden and a big cuddly staffy who loves company too. I can keep separated if its what you prefer. If I’m minding your pet they are part of our home. We allow dogs cuddle beside us on the sofa and plenty of playtime and big walks.
“Taisa is a fantastic dog sitter. She is an excellent communicator, responds quickly, and is incredibly accommodating. Most importantly, she is amazing with dogs. Belle had the best holiday with Taisa, her family, and their gorgeous dog, Sky. We received lots of photos and updates throughout her stay, and it was clear she was having the time of her life! 😂 Taisa made us feel completely at ease knowing Belle was being so well cared for, loved, and included as part of the family. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and professional dog sitter. Belle can't wait for her next stay! 🐾❤️”
“Just back from leaving our dog with Linda and I can not recommend her enough. Coco was so well looked after. Linda let us know how coco was doing with texts and videos. We could see how happy coco was. Without a doubt we will be asking Linda again to mind her. We were put at ease the minute we met Linda. We can not thank her enough.”

“We are so happy with Natalia’s boarding service for our dog Molly! We left her with Natalia for 8 nights while we went on holiday, and she had such a fun time between daily walks, cuddles, playtimes, and even a day trip to Glendalough! We received daily updates of Molly through videos and pictures which made us feel very much at ease as we could see she was getting on great. We highly recommend Natalia for any service as she was incredibly caring and loving towards our Molly during her stay :) We will definitely be using Natalia the next time we need Molly minded!”

“I highly recommend Maham, she minded our German Shepherd Lenzi for 10 days. She sent regular photos and updates on how they were getting on. It is clear she has a great way with and love for all dogs and it was clear that Lenzi bonded with her while they were together. I highly recommend Maham as someone you can trust with your canine best friend.”

“Sandra did a great job minding my anxious pup. Callie came back calm and happy and I got lots of happy looking photo updates. She followed medicine and special dietary requirements no problem.”
“Gabrielle is absolutely amazing. From our first message here, to meeting our dogs, to them staying, to picking them up - she was nothing but the best. Our two twin brothers were so happy in her care. I can't recommend her enough, and if you're at all feeling anxious about leaving a pet for the first time, don't be with her - it will be the best first experience you could have. Loved getting updates and photos of how the boys were doing, and you could tell she was having as much fun as they were. Thank you Gabrielle!!!”
“Ash was so lovely throughout the booking process, always communicating with us and sent us loads of photos when she minded our dog. She spent time making sure our dogs gelled well at the meet and greet which was great to see. Thanks so much Ash 🤗”

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the pri ce s hown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Dublin ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.
Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.
Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
