About: I have been working for Pet sitting Ireland over three years and I’m a devoted animal lover. I have great responsibility to look after different kind of animals. I love dogs and enjoy the time walking and playing together. Different dogs have different personalities and I will try to understand them and give them the care and love they need! I have been doing dog sitting and dog walking a lot and I love to run with them and interact with them. I believe dogs need lots of outdoor time and they need to spend energy in the nature. They will be much more happier and calmer when they get enough exercise and attention. I have been working for Petsitters Ireland over a year and has been very responsible and accountable. I can walk different kinds of dogs, big or small. I know how to build up connections with different dogs in my own way and the secret is love.
“Just back from leaving our dog with Linda and I can not recommend her enough. Coco was so well looked after. Linda let us know how coco was doing with texts and videos. We could see how happy coco was. Without a doubt we will be asking Linda again to mind her. We were put at ease the minute we met Linda. We can not thank her enough.”

“Would highly recommend Kinga and her family to look after your dog. Kinga took excellent care of our dog, Belle. Kinga is a friendly and caring person and made Belle feel at ease from the moment we dropped her off. We also appreciated the daily updates too. Thank you Kinga and family 😊. ”
“Shreya looked after Dudley so well and kept us updated with photos etc. Dudley had a very happy time and was in great form after his short holiday. Shreya loves dogs and is clearly a kind and caring person. We can certainly recommend Shreya and Dudley is looking forward to staying with her again in the future. Thank you, Shreya! 🙏🐕😊”

“Maria looked after our dog Indy for the week and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept us updated every day with photos and videos of Indy playing with other dogs, relaxing on the couch, and clearly having the best time. The consistent messages and updates were so reassuring while we were away, and it was obvious Indy was being cared for like one of her own. Seeing her so happy and comfortable made all the difference. I would recommend Maria to absolutely everyone looking for a caring, reliable, and thoughtful dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such amazing care of Indy!”

About: Hello families, nice to meet you! I'm Esther, I'm 24 years old and I'm here in Ireland on a stamp 4 visa. I'm a childminder, content creator and I'm looking for an extra petsitter position. I've always liked animals, in 2019 I took a course to become a veterinary assistant, I didn't work in the area because then the pandemic came. However, I always had a dog the entire time I lived in Brazil, I have two girls “Dora” and “Duda” who live with my family in Brazil. I am very affectionate, attentive and I really want to learn more and more. I live in Lucan in a good apartment with my husband, so I am able to receive your pet at my house. My apartment has a good space and area to walk around the building too. I offer affection, attention, walks, I can teach commands that I learned to do to practice with my dogs in Brazil as this uses more energy than the walks themselves. Feel free to contact me, I'll be happy to help you. Thank you so much!! I work from home (by my own) so I have plenty of time to play, go out and etc. I stay alone all day so your pet will be a company for me too. Occasionally I care child’s in my house but I have security gate. I like to ask about dogs owner expectations and follow it, adding my knowledge too and always respecting your pet conditions. I have references from families and a verified profile on “Pawshake” pet sitter app.
About: I especially enjoy caring for small, friendly female dogs, as I have a little Chihuahua girl of my own at home and would love for her to have a gentle companion to play with. 🐾💕 Pet care fits well into my routine, and I’m available all week until 3pm, with full-day availability on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays. I’m home-based and can give dogs plenty of attention, care, playtime and company throughout the day. I provide a safe, calm and loving home environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for. I always supervise dogs, keep their food and routine consistent, and make sure they rest and relax. I’m also very mindful of doors, gates and anything they could get into, especially with small dogs. Most importantly, I treat every pet with the same care and attention I give my own Chihuahua.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, including small and large dogs such as Beagles, Spaniels, German Pointers and Alsatians, as well as cats. While at university in the Netherlands, I spent four years pet sitting and dog walking, caring for both puppies and mature dogs as well as cats. I’m comfortable with different breeds, sizes and personalities, and love getting to know each pet’s individual routine and needs. I’m an active person who loves walking and running, so I’d be very happy to have a four-legged companion join me on suitable walks or runs. I also have a spacious ground-floor apartment with easy access to outdoor space, making it a comfortable home-from-home for pets. I work from home full-time, so I have plenty of flexibility throughout the day to give your pet attention, walks, playtime and company. I’m able to fit pet care around my working schedule and can accommodate regular walks, drop-ins and boarding. I also love getting outdoors, so dogs staying with me can enjoy plenty of walks and time outside, depending on their usual routine and needs. I live in a secure, well-maintained complex with a fenced patio and a spacious ground-floor apartment, giving pets a comfortable and secure environment. I’m also just beside Phoenix Park, so there are plenty of lovely walking routes nearby. I take pet safety seriously and would follow your instructions closely around feeding, walks, routines and any specific needs your pet has.

About: Hello! We are Bruno and Emily, a couple living in Dublin with a genuine love for dogs. We have both grown up around dogs and understand how much they mean to their families. We enjoy spending time with them, whether it’s going for walks, playing, or simply giving them the attention and affection they deserve. We are responsible, patient and caring, and we treat every dog as if they were our own. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving and stress-free environment where your dog feels comfortable, happy and well looked after while you’re away. We both work full-time during weekdays, but we make sure every dog in our care has a safe, comfortable and relaxing place to stay in our spacious apartment. Before and after work, we dedicate quality time to walks, playtime, exercise and plenty of affection. Evenings and weekends allow us to spend even more time with your dog. We always do our best to follow your pet’s routine and ensure they feel happy, comfortable and well cared for throughout their stay. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness are our top priorities. We provide a clean, spacious and welcoming home where every dog is treated like part of our family. We carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions (if required) and any special requests you may have. We also understand how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can trust while you’re travelling or away from home. Our goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your pet is in a safe, loving and reliable environment until you’re reunited.
“Sandra did a great job minding my anxious pup. Callie came back calm and happy and I got lots of happy looking photo updates. She followed medicine and special dietary requirements no problem.”
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was in college. I started with neighbours and friends dogs. When I moved to Ireland, I decided to start minding dogs because I love their company. I've minded more that 20+ dogs in the past 2 years from small to medium breeds. If the owner allows it, the doggies get to sleep on my bed and couch. I work from home every day except Wednesday, that I try to go into the office. But of I'm minding a dog I stay home on Wednesdays. If I mind the doggies I try to bring them along even if it's to go out, for a cafe, for a walk or if I go out with friends. I have a fenced garden, where I bring dogs in my lunch time for a pee break. But I normally try to go out with them 3 times a day. They also helped me to het out of my desk
About: Growing up I have always owned dogs. My best friend (Ben) was the best doggo for 15 years. Sadly before I moved to Vancouver I had to let him go to doggy heaven. He was a beautiful Samoyed Husky with the most caring nature. Moved back from Vancouver now and was always pet sitting while living there ! I currently work monday-friday 8:30- 4:30 in a school so I mostly can look after your pet on the weekends but that can often be flexible due to school holidays I think it is important to remember that a pet is also someone's family member and they deserve lots of love and attention. We all love to get out and not be locked up and the same goes for our furry friends!(I think we know this after covid) . I would make sure they are given the correct food and hydrated aswell as some cuddles and play time ! It is important to keep our pets minds active.
“Billy has stayed with Silvana on several occasions and is always well cared for and has a great time. He always gets very excited when he sees her. Silvana has been really accommodating and helpful when needed. Would recommend to anyone looking for a sitter in the area.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for Dog Boarding in Lucan on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Dublin ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Some boarding sitters stay with the dogs in their care for most of the day, while others may step out for work, errands or other commitments. Each sitter’s schedule and the amount of time your dog may be left alone will vary, so it is important to agree expectations before the stay begins.
Before booking, tell the sitter how long your dog can comfortably be left alone and confirm their typical schedule during the stay. Adding the maximum number of hours your dog can be left alone to their profile can also help sitters decide whether they are the right match.
Boarding does not automatically include round-the-clock supervision. If your dog needs someone present at all times, ask whether the sitter offers constant care or 24/7 care. This may require a separate arrangement and may not be included in the sitter’s standard boarding rate.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
