About: I have experience caring for five pets from the same family: Thomas, Ameixa, Branca, Preta, and Nina. I was responsible for their daily care, including feeding them, giving medication when needed, playing with them, and taking them for walks. Thomas, in particular, had a leg issue and could not jump on the bed or sofa, as this could hurt his paw. With patience and consistency, I taught him to use a small set of stairs instead, so he could go up and down safely. Taking care of all five pets from the same household helped me develop patience, organization, and the ability to adapt to different personalities and needs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily and weekly routine. I organize my schedule to be flexible and reliable, allowing me to dedicate quality time to each pet. I plan my day around walks, visits, feeding times, and playtime, always respecting each pet’s routine and needs. I’m available during the week and on weekends, and I make sure every pet receives consistent attention, care, and affection. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I always create a calm, clean, and secure environment, whether in my home or in the pet owner’s home. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medication, routines, and special needs. During walks, I stay attentive at all times and adapt the pace and environment to ensure each pet feels comfortable and safe. I treat every pet with patience, respect, and responsibility, and I keep owners informed with updates whenever needed so they feel confident and at ease.

About: My Pet Care Experience 🐾 I’ve always had a special love for animals and have grown up with pets at home, including both dogs and cats. I’ve also had a hamster, so I’m comfortable caring for different types of pets and understanding their individual needs. I’ve regularly looked after my relatives’ dogs when they’ve been away, as well as caring for my own pets over the years. I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone who is caring, responsible and trustworthy, and I always treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, cuddles and plenty of attention. My priority is making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable and loved while you’re away. ❤️🐶🐱 I work at a pharmacy Monday to Friday, so I’m available for pet sitting and walks after 7pm on weekdays. I’m fully available on weekends, with plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-in visits and pet sitting. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and will always make sure they receive plenty of care, attention and love while you’re away. 🐶🐱❤️ I have a secure, fully fenced backyard with plenty of space for your furry friend to safely play, explore and enjoy some fresh air. I’ve been living in Dublin for the past 5 years, and it’s just me and my husband at home, so we don’t currently have any pets of our own. This means your pet will have our full attention and won’t have to share the space with other animals. Your pet’s safety, comfort and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll provide a calm, loving and welcoming environment where they can feel at home, with plenty of attention, playtime and cuddles.

I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, breeds, sizes and personalities, and understand the importance of keeping them safe, happy and comfortable. Working in a veterinary environment has given me experience with animal care, handling, medication routines and recognising when a dog may be unwell or stressed. My kennel experience has also taught me how to manage daily routines, exercise, feeding and cleaning while giving each dog individual attention. Alongside this, I have experience in dog training and handling, including basic obedience, lead work, recall and general manners. I’m passionate about animals and treat every dog in my care as an individual, providing a safe, loving and fun environment while keeping owners updated and reassured. “Cinderella is a wonderful cat sitter and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to look after their cat or cats while they're away. She took great care of our two cats and spent over an hour with them on each visit. She kept in contact and sent us photos and/or videos twice a day. One of our cats is very shy with strangers. We were delighted to see her sitting on Cinderella's lap and purring away on day 1. We were amazed! It's very reassuring to see your cat so content when you're away, Cinderella definitely has a way with cats. She calm and serene and has a lovely gentle manner which the cats respond to. She a very genuine person and loves cats which is easy to see. She spent a lot of tie playing with them as well as feeding them, cleaning the litter tray also. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to look after your cats or cats when you're away from home. We'll be using her every time we go away from now on. You wont regret it if you choose Cinderella!”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs since I was 11 years old. Growing up with my own dog taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding each dog's unique personality and needs. In addition to caring for my own dog, I've also looked after friends' dogs, helping with walks, feeding, playtime, and providing companionship while their owners were away. I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I'm reliable, patient, and attentive, and I enjoy spending time outdoors, making walks both fun and engaging. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply having someone nearby for company, I'm happy to adapt to their routine and needs. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! I work a standard 9–5 schedule, primarily from home, which gives me flexibility throughout the day to provide care and attention to pets. I can often adjust my schedule to accommodate walks, drop-in visits, or sitting requests, and I'm generally available during evenings and weekends as well. I always aim to work with owners to find arrangements that suit both their needs and their pet's routine. If caring for pets in my apartment, I ensure the environment is safe, clean, and comfortable at all times. The space is kept free of hazards such as exposed food, toxic items, or anything that could be unsafe for curious dogs. Doors and windows are secured to prevent any chance of escape. Because I work from home, I’m able to supervise pets throughout the day and provide regular attention, toilet breaks, and companionship. I also live near suitable walking areas, which allows for safe and consistent exercise. I follow each owner’s instructions closely and can accommodate crate routines or specific house rules where needed to help pets feel comfortable and settled in a familiar structure.

About: I've always loved spending time with pets. I have a family dog back in Spain who I've helped train, walk, and spoil since she was 3 months old! Multiple friends and even my boss have trusted me with their pets (both cats and dogs) while they were away for holidays, and I've had the time of my life with every single one of them. I enjoy going on long walks myself, which would suit if your dog has lots of energy, but I'm just as happy relaxing with a dog who prefers quiet relaxing time. All dogs I've ever minded, have been taken care of as if they were my own :) I work Monday-Friday from 11:30-6. I'm available stay overnight on weekdays if they're not too far from there I work, and full weekends as needed! I understand how important it is to keep your pets in a safe and familiar environment while you're away. When I care for pets in their own home, I make sure to keep their routine and ensure they feel secure. You can trust me to respect your space and follow any specific instructions you have for your pet's care! Their safety and comfort are my top priority, and I'll treat your home with the utmost care and respect. You can relax knowing your pet is in good hands :)

About: My home is basically a mini zoo, with two lovable troublemakers and a super chill cat. One of my dogs is nearly nine and always gets compliments on how youthful and spritely she is—people constantly mistake her for a one-year-old (short legs included!) because she has so much energy, which I think comes from all the walks I give her. My other dog, a six-year-old lab, is the crazy one who loves burning off energy playing ball in the garden. They’re my babies, and I adore them. Caring for them has taught me how to really understand and adapt to each pet’s unique personality and needs, and I’d love to give that same care to yours. I am currently doing my masters degree which I am yet to receive my timetable for, but should be free all week- mainly afternoon/ evenings! I provide care in the pet owner’s home as my own home is already busy with three animals. This allows your pet to stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I always follow routines closely, ensure pets feel safe and relaxed, and adapt to their individual needs, whether that’s playtime, walks, feeding, or just calm companionship. Any time spent with animals and helping them feel at ease is greatly appreciated always :)

Haley was amazing with our 3 dogs. We have one 9 year old and 2 7 month old pups. She came down to meet them all first and was fantastic with them. She arrived on time, walked them all and gave them lots of play time and snuggles. She sent pictures and regular updates and we were secure in the knowledge that our pets were being well looked after and loved when we were away. I would highly recommend Haley and will certainly book her again. Just knowing we had someone we trust 100% and knowing they were so well looked after was a great comfort to us.

Aline was incredibly caring, attentive, and helpful. It was our first time using the app and our first time trusting someone to come into our home to look after our cat, so we were a little nervous at first. He is a very shy and timid cat, but Aline was so patient and gentle with him that she was able to earn his trust. She kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She also followed his usual routine and made sure he was well cared for throughout our trip. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. We would definitely recommend Aline and would happily have her look after him again!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Lucan

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Lucan on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per Visit (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or toilet breaks occurred, for doggy day care, home visits, and dog walking services. You can also message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available by email or chat if you have concerns.

Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Lucan pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lucan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
