About: I’m a third year Animal Science student at University College Dublin with a huge passion for animal care and welfare. I regularly look after and walk my neighbours and family members dogs when they’re away, and I love spending time with dogs of all breeds and sizes. I also enjoy joining my friends on walks with their dogs whenever I can. I’m reliable, responsible, and caring, and I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, happy, and well looked after. I’ll always treat your pet as if they were my own and make sure they receive plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while you’re away. I’m currently very flexible over the summer and am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting, and feeding throughout the day, evenings, and weekends. I’ll be returning to college in September, but I’ll still be happy to work around my college timetable. I’ll do my best to accommodate to different schedules! Unfortunately, I can’t care for pets in my own home due to family health and allergy considerations. However, I’m more than happy to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home through drop-in visits, dog walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I understand that pets are happiest when they can stick to their usual routine, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, care, and affection while you’re away. About: With four years as a chihuahua owner and one year with a cat, I bring real, hands on experience to every sit. I understand small breed quirks the anxiety, the big personality, the need for warmth and routine. And cats? I'm genuinely obsessed. I know how to earn their trust on their terms, not mine. I'm comfortable with multi-pet households, senior animals, and spotting when something feels "off." Your pets won't just be supervised they'll be loved by someone who truly understands them. Im currently working a very short amount of time in the mornings 9am-11am and some other times for other times Im fully free to take care of the pet and exercise, have fun with them! :)) So I wont leave them more than 5h. I am not available to take pets at my house currently due to the safety environment and non stressful area for the dog and my sister's allergy. So boarding isn't working with me but house sitting is completely fine with me and I am also okay with cameras in specific spots.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I’ve minded many dogs over the years — of all sizes and personalities, including long dog-sitting stays such as a three-month sit and multiple week-long sits. I’m currently living in Dublin, having just moved home from Vancouver and I am working as an online personal trainer so my schedule is very flexible. I’m friendly, reliable, and always make sure dogs feel safe, loved, and well cared for on every walk or stay. I'm a personal trainer who fully works online, which gives me a flexible schedule. I enjoy taking breaks throughout the day to get fresh air, making dog walking a perfect fit. I’m mostly available during the week, but sometimes free on the weekends too. I care for pets by sticking closely to their usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully, keep their space safe and tidy, and provide updates and photos. I’m calm, reliable, and always prioritize a pet’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Blackrock
Helena and Jörn are great cat sitters! Our cat is very shy and wary of new people, but they do such a wonderful job looking after him and making sure he’s comfortable. We feel at ease knowing he’s in their care, and their visits give us real peace of mind when we’re away. We highly recommend them and will continue rebooking.

We had Runan looking after our dog and 3 cats for 2 weeks. She was great with our pets, very reliable and she took great care of everybody. She was respectful of the property also. We will definitely rebook Runan next time we go away and would highly recommend her to anybody. :) Thank you for everything, Runan! ❤️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for Pet Sitting in Blackrock on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per Visit (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or toilet breaks occurred, for doggy day care, home visits, and dog walking services. You can also message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available by email or chat if you have concerns.
Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.
Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Blackrock pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Blackrock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
