About: I am currently studying Zoology in UCD and I have a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Animal Care enabling me to provide exceptional attention to detail and care for your fluffball. I am also a brand ambassador for Butternut Box, a fresh dog food company. If you are away for a long period of time, I can provide additional services such as taking care of your plants or any other miscellaneous jobs that need upkeep around the house. I have a car for transport in case of any emergency. I also have an updated tetanus vaccine. Feel free to contact me for further details! I am a Zoology student at UCD and go in for a few hours a day, otherwise I am studying at home and am available to provide care for your animal/s for most of the day. This works very well for me, as I get to do what I love, which is care for animals, gain experience and support myself through college. I would ensure care for your pet by providing my company as much as possible, making sure the pet is getting adequate exercise and is fed according to any dietary routines set by you. Any medications I would admisiter with great care and consistent timing if needed. I would also maintain a hygenic environment to mitigate risk of health issues.

About: I’m a third year Animal Science student at University College Dublin with a huge passion for animal care and welfare. I regularly look after and walk my neighbours and family members dogs when they’re away, and I love spending time with dogs of all breeds and sizes. I also enjoy joining my friends on walks with their dogs whenever I can. I’m reliable, responsible, and caring, and I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, happy, and well looked after. I’ll always treat your pet as if they were my own and make sure they receive plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while you’re away. I’m currently very flexible over the summer and am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting, and feeding throughout the day, evenings, and weekends. I’ll be returning to college in September, but I’ll still be happy to work around my college timetable. I’ll do my best to accommodate to different schedules! Unfortunately, I can’t care for pets in my own home due to family health and allergy considerations. However, I’m more than happy to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home through drop-in visits, dog walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I understand that pets are happiest when they can stick to their usual routine, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, care, and affection while you’re away. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and treat your pets as if they were my own.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and absolutely love spending time with them. I grew up with a black Labrador who was part of the family for 14 years, followed by a lively Jack Russell, so I’m very familiar with different personalities and energy levels. Over the years I’ve also looked after many dogs for friends and family, from relaxed companions to high-energy explorers. While I don’t currently have a dog of my own, it just means I pour all that attention and affection into the dogs I care for. I love getting dogs out on proper adventures — long walks, hikes, and plenty of time exploring the outdoors. My goal is always to make sure they come home happy, exercised, and maybe just a little bit spoiled! My shift schedule gives me flexibility throughout the week, meaning I’m often available at times when others aren’t — including weekdays and daytime hours. When I’m minding a dog, I make sure they get lots of time, walks, and attention. Safety is very important to me when caring for dogs. I make sure leads and harnesses are secure, stay aware of the environment on walks, and avoid situations that could be stressful or unsafe. I’m happy to follow each dog’s routine and any specific instructions from their owner to keep them comfortable and safe.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I’ve minded many dogs over the years — of all sizes and personalities, including long dog-sitting stays such as a three-month sit and multiple week-long sits. I’m currently living in Dublin, having just moved home from Vancouver and I am working as an online personal trainer so my schedule is very flexible. I’m friendly, reliable, and always make sure dogs feel safe, loved, and well cared for on every walk or stay. I'm a personal trainer who fully works online, which gives me a flexible schedule. I enjoy taking breaks throughout the day to get fresh air, making dog walking a perfect fit. I’m mostly available during the week, but sometimes free on the weekends too. I care for pets by sticking closely to their usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions carefully, keep their space safe and tidy, and provide updates and photos. I’m calm, reliable, and always prioritize a pet’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing.

About: Huge animal lover , who sadly lives in a rental that doesn’t allow pets so happy to get some time with furry friends whenever I can! Have grown up with dogs and cats and have volunteered at pet shelters while living abroad. Lots of experience with dogs and cats of all ages from little babies to senior citizens! Your pet will be in safe, experienced hands (and will also get bundles of cuddles and kisses) I have a very flexible work from home schedule so can easily make myself available as required. Happy to work around your pets needs. I have a lot of experience of this as I have grown up with pets and around animals my entire life. I’m very detailed oriented, caring and responsible, I will ALWAYS but your pets safety and comfort at the forefront. Very good knowledge of animal behaviour and body language also.

About: With four years as a chihuahua owner and one year with a cat, I bring real, hands on experience to every sit. I understand small breed quirks the anxiety, the big personality, the need for warmth and routine. And cats? I'm genuinely obsessed. I know how to earn their trust on their terms, not mine. I'm comfortable with multi-pet households, senior animals, and spotting when something feels "off." Your pets won't just be supervised they'll be loved by someone who truly understands them. Im currently working a very short amount of time in the mornings 9am-11am and some other times for other times Im fully free to take care of the pet and exercise, have fun with them! :)) So I wont leave them more than 5h. I am not available to take pets at my house currently due to the safety environment and non stressful area for the dog and my sister's allergy. So boarding isn't working with me but house sitting is completely fine with me and I am also okay with cameras in specific spots.

About: Hey there! I am an easy-going and organised person. I love pets, especially cats, though dogs have a special place too. I know cats and dogs have different personalities, but we can find a common language. If your furry friend is ready to play for the whole day, I am happy to help, and if they prefer calm and relaxed atmosphere, I am good with that too. I have always lived with cats and now I miss my cat back home, her name is Masha and she is very playful. So I will bring all of that love to your friend. I send daily photos so you can be sure your pet is having a great time. I am currently not working so I can give my full attention to your pet. I can adjust to their schedule. I am available during whole week - weekdays and weekends I follow the instructions you provide. If you let your pets outside, on a walk or just your garden, I will let them too. I have a big room and pets can go on tables, beds, and anywhere they want. I have a balcony but I keep it close.

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life. Have had pets of my own and have on and walked and dog sit. I have dog sit for upwards of a month. I am super active and am always looking for company on my walks. I am currently working part-time, with shifts typically scheduled in either the mornings or evenings. Because of this, my availability can vary slightly week to week, but overall I have a relatively flexible schedule and am usually able to accommodate bookings with advance notice. I’m happy to work with pet owners to find times that suit both of our schedules I’m very comfortable with house sits and caring for pets in their own home, where they’re usually most comfortable. Unfortunately, I can’t host pets overnight because I live in a house share, though I do have a small yard for daytime use. I’m always happy to stay in your home and provide reliable, attentive care while you’re away.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and genuinely can’t remember a time when there wasn’t one in my life! I currently have Ollie, a 13-year-old Pugalier, so I’m used to everything from energetic younger dogs to the slightly slower pace (and very specific demands) that can come with older dogs. I work from home regularly, have a fully fenced garden and would only take a small number of bookings, so your dog won’t be one of several being looked after at the same time. I’d much rather make sure they settle in properly and feel completely at home. I know how particular I am about who I’d leave Ollie with, so I completely understand wanting to know your dog is somewhere safe, relaxed and well looked after. I’m very happy to stick to their normal routine, walks, feeding schedule and whatever little quirks they come with, and you can expect plenty of photo updates while they’re here! My schedule is quite flexible at the moment, so I have plenty of time to fit pet care into my day rather than trying to squeeze it in around a 9–5. If your pet is staying with me, I’ll be around regularly throughout the day for company, walks, feeding and whatever their usual routine involves. I’m also flexible for drop-ins and happy to work around your pet’s normal schedule as much as possible. I know how much trust is involved in leaving your pet with someone else, so I’ll always take the time beforehand to understand their routine, personality and anything I need to know to keep them happy and safe. At home, I have a fully fenced garden and my own friendly older dog, Ollie. I’d always want dogs to meet first before agreeing to a stay, and I only take a small number of bookings so I can give each pet plenty of attention and make sure everyone is comfortable. For drop-ins, I’ll treat your home exactly as I’d want someone to treat mine, follow your instructions closely and keep you updated while you’re away. And yes, photos will absolutely be provided (probably more than you asked for 😂)

About: I have a lot of experience in dog walking in my hometown, usually I walk with my dog at least twice a day( if the weather is rainy, I'll put a raincoat on her:), because I don't want her to get sick). I worked at home, so I stay with my pet almost everyday.
But now, I'm studying in Ireland for my master, so I live alone and separated from my pet, I missing her a lot;(.
So I wanna find a job that I can stay with another lovely and furry creatures to reduce my missing of my dog.
Besides, I always have experience of walking my neighbor's dogs. And I also worked in stray dog rescue base as a volunteer for 4 year during my university. I bathe dogs, comb their hair, feed them, teach other new volunteers how to take care of them, and of course walk them.I'm every reliable. I have classes on working day, I’m available for weekends and Tuesday and Friday. But if that day is holiday, so that I don’t have classes that day, I’m also available. I can only care for pets in a pet owner’s home, because because I live with others now and don’t have enough place for pets.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Walking in Blackrock on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per walk (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Walking easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Walking.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-to-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Blackrock. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Tip: Keep in mind that many cities require your dog walker to have a permit or licence for group walks.

For dog walking bookings, your dog walker can send a Rover Card with details about your dog’s walk. Rover Cards require at least one photo and may include a map of the walking route, the total walk time and distance, and any pee or poo breaks recorded by the walker.

The route map lets you review where your dog was walked in Blackrock after the booking. It is not live GPS tracking.

Have specific details you would like included? Message your dog walker in the app before the walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the walker is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your walker interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and walker for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who can respond to your messages in under 5 minutes. To find the fastest available match, message multiple sitters with a recent 'calendar last updated' notice on their profiles.

Walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
