“It was great to have Licia back for our cat Theo once again. We were away for nearly a week and a half, and Licia did a lovely job, keeping in regular contact, letting us know how everything was, and looking after our cat beautifully - he was a great form when we got back!”

About: I'm a cat mum to a sassy senior cat, Doris. Looking after a senior cat comes with its own challenges - fussy eating habits, particular ways of playing, and managing chronic health conditions. Over the years, I've learned how to spot subtle changes in behaviour and recognise when something isn't quite right. I've also looked after all sorts of cats, from energetic kittens to cats on whole prey diets, cats who want to play all day, and cats with their own unique quirks (including one who was terrified of shoes). I'm naturally calm, patient, and attentive, and cats tend to warm to me quickly. I understand that every cat is different, some love attention and cuddles, while others prefer to keep their distance, and I'm happy to meet them where they're at. Whether your cat needs playtime, company, medication, or simply someone reliable to check in and make sure everything is okay, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I mostly work from home, which gives me great flexibility. Most days I can visit your kitty before 9am, around midday (12pm), and again after 5pm. On days I’m in the office, I’m available for visits before 8:30am and after 5.30pm. As a cat mom myself, I understand that some days your cat may need a bit of extra attention and care. I’m happy to adapt my routine to suit your kitty’s needs and keep things as consistent and stress-free as possible. When caring for your cat in your home, I make sure they’re well-fed, comfortable, and happy. I’ll clean their litter box, spend quality time playing or keeping them company, and ensure everything is safe. I’m always guided by your cat’s personality - whether they love cuddles or prefer their space, I’ll respect that. After each visit, I provide updates so you can feel reassured that your pet is in good hands.

“Paula was exceptional in looking after our Scottish Fold, Ice Cream. I received updates and she also helped adjusting Ice Cream meals as she was eating very little. Thank you, Paula!”

“Eireann is thoughtful, caring and competent, I am more than happy to recommnend her services! We had to leave our elderly special needs feline for 3 weeks and came home to a happy, stable lady after Eireann suggested that a full housesit would be better for our cat after I briefed her on the requirements for meals, supplements and medications.”

“Svetlana did an amazing job with Yuumi, we are very happy! She took into account all the needs and likes of our cat, we received timely updates and we came back from our trip to a very happy and well looked after cat! It is very obvious that Svetlana genuinely loves cats and goes above and beyond to ensure their wellbeing. Everything in the flat was really tidy as well when we got back! We are super grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend Svetlana :)”

About: Hi, I'm Mabel. I'm a 25 year old masters student in Dublin. I've fostered and rescued cats for a few years, and currently, I live in a home with 3 dogs and help take care of them. Whether you need a cuddle pal for your cat or a walking buddy for your dogs, I'd love to hear from you! I'm currently on my work placement semester, and I have a flexible schedule. Due to this, I'd be available to pet sit at different times during the week. Your pet should be comfortable having me around the house as that is their home and safe space. Ideally, I'd like to meet you and your pet a few days before I pet sit as your pet is my client and their happiness and wellbeing are top priority to me.
About: I’ve had dogs since I was 8 and grew up around all kinds of animals in Tanzania. Before moving back to Dublin two weeks ago, I was helping out at a rescue centre run by a close friend. I also have a 6 year old Frenchie who’s incredibly spoilt but well trained - so I’m used to pets with big personalities. I’m currently on a break from work while doing a yoga teacher training so very flexible with timing. Most days work for me and I have a car if needed. I will keep your dog on the lead for walks and listen to any other advice you give me. If your dog is reactive I can keep the walks to more quiet areas and also happy to help with any training.

About: As an international student, I miss my own dog and cat so much. I have lots of experience from my own pets as well as taking care of pets of friends and family. I hope that being able to spend time with your dog or cat would fill the hole in my heart when I’m away from my own babies! I’m a student so I have a very flexible timetable. I would be especially happy to do midday visits for your pet as I know that is a tough time to get off of work. I am happy to come to your house to do a visit for your cat or dog, as well as take your dog on a walk near where you live! I have lots of experience with my own cats and dogs so your baby is in safe hands :)
About: Since I was a child, I have always had cats, dogs and birds at home, so it is very common for me to take care of animals. I am currently studying in the morning until 12:15 p.m. in Smithfield, so after that I am free to walk with your pet. Regardless of what care is needed for your pets, I will follow as desired. Every pet has its needs and I will do my best for them.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and genuinely can’t remember a time when there wasn’t one in my life! I currently have Ollie, a 13-year-old Pugalier, so I’m used to everything from energetic younger dogs to the slightly slower pace (and very specific demands) that can come with older dogs. I work from home regularly, have a fully fenced garden and would only take a small number of bookings, so your dog won’t be one of several being looked after at the same time. I’d much rather make sure they settle in properly and feel completely at home. I know how particular I am about who I’d leave Ollie with, so I completely understand wanting to know your dog is somewhere safe, relaxed and well looked after. I’m very happy to stick to their normal routine, walks, feeding schedule and whatever little quirks they come with, and you can expect plenty of photo updates while they’re here! My schedule is quite flexible at the moment, so I have plenty of time to fit pet care into my day rather than trying to squeeze it in around a 9–5. If your pet is staying with me, I’ll be around regularly throughout the day for company, walks, feeding and whatever their usual routine involves. I’m also flexible for drop-ins and happy to work around your pet’s normal schedule as much as possible. I know how much trust is involved in leaving your pet with someone else, so I’ll always take the time beforehand to understand their routine, personality and anything I need to know to keep them happy and safe. At home, I have a fully fenced garden and my own friendly older dog, Ollie. I’d always want dogs to meet first before agreeing to a stay, and I only take a small number of bookings so I can give each pet plenty of attention and make sure everyone is comfortable. For drop-ins, I’ll treat your home exactly as I’d want someone to treat mine, follow your instructions closely and keep you updated while you’re away. And yes, photos will absolutely be provided (probably more than you asked for 😂)

I make sure their home stays tidy, and I keep owners updated with regular photos and messages so they feel reassured.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for Cat Sitting in Blackrock on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per Visit (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.
Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Blackrock pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitter’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity verification, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or smart doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
