About: I grew up constantly surrounded by pets including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and more so I have always been connected to animals and have been pet-sitting for a long time. I am comfortable with a wide range of sizes and breeds. Beyond their basic needs, I am also comfortable administering routine medication, accommodating to each dog’s special needs, and reinforcing any preexisting training during our time together. I am currently writing my master's thesis, so I have plenty of time to keep your cats company! Since my schedule is flexible, I am able to easily move things around to best fit your and your pet’s needs. Having grown up with many pets from a young age and having experience pet-sitting a variety of dogs + cats, I am able to easily spot possible hazards and know how to create a comfortable environment for them. From timid to extroverted dogs, I know how to read their body language, respect their boundaries, and nurture a good relationship with them.

About: At a young age I started working with farm animals (mostly horses, goats and sheep). A few years ago I pet-sat a full year for a dog breeder / behaviourist which thought me a lot about dogs specifically. I have always had good instincts when it comes to most animals and have had a few of my own. Being in a new country makes me miss having dogs or cats around. I'm a full-time student in a new country. During weekdays I have around 8 hours of class. Usually from morning until 3/4 pm after that and during the weekends my schedule is very flexible. I live in student accommodation and cannot care for dogs in my house at the moment. I'll be more than happy to take them out for long walks or to care for them in their own houses.
“Karen was totally amazing. My dog adored her and looked so happy and content when I came home. Karen treated my dog and my home as her own and is a wonderful, honest person. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her to anyone. Will be using her again when I go away!”

I’ve grown up around animals and have a deep love for them and years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I've cared for two of my own family dogs a spaniel and a Staffordshire terrier which has given me experience with very different personalities, energy levels, and care needs. I’ve also cared for cats, rescuing strays and giving them patience, comfort, and attention when they needed it most. I understand that every pet is unique, and I’m committed to providing loving, reliable care that helps them feel safe, comfortable, and happy in a way that's suits you and your pets best. I work 9-5, a hybrid job with high flexibility of when I can work from home. There is also a high degree of flexibility during the day, so I can be free for lunch time check-ins or toilet breaks. I am highly active so would be very keen to help out with dog walking during the day or in the evening, especially for active dogs who may require some extra exercise. I am happy to look after your pets in your home if that's what you need. I'm happy to visit as much as you need for longer stays also and can provide general pet-sitting, toilet breaks, walks, feeding and providing medication also.

“Helena is absolutely AMAZING. My pets really loved her, plenty of walks and play time. She made sure I was in the loop all the time with photo and video updates which reduced anxiety, especially when working with someone new. Amazing person and absolutely perfect service.”

“Kristi is a super dog minder we were in Cork camping and we attended a concert in Cork city Kristi picked up our dog and dropped him back that night. We could not recommend her enough she provided us with updates on how our dog was she is very friendly and our dog loved her and had no problem going with her.”

“I honestly cannot recommend Sofía highly enough!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we met during the Meet & Greet, Sofía felt like a family friend. She immediately made both Vida and me feel comfortable, and it was obvious how naturally she connected with him. She cared for Vida as if he were family. She was incredibly loving, attentive, and proactive throughout, sending regular photos, videos, and updates without me even having to ask. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from every update that Vida felt happy, relaxed, and completely comfortable with her. He was loved, cared for, and understood, which is everything you could hope for when leaving your dog with someone. Sofía also stayed at my house and was completely respectful, trustworthy, and responsible. I came back to a clean, calm home, and she had even left me a Coca-Cola as a thoughtful little gesture after I had mentioned how much I love it. It was such a kind, personal touch, and perfectly reflects the type of person she is. She is kind, reliable, communicative, responsible, and truly wonderful with animals. I could not have chosen a better person to take care of Vida. I would book Sofía again in the blink of an eye and feel incredibly lucky to have found her. If you are considering booking her, do not hesitate for a second. Your pet will be in the very best hands. Thanks for everything, Sofía. You are the best! Steph ❤️”

About: I grew up with dogs, specifically a Jack Russell with attitude, and a Golden Labrador that was friendly, fun and stubborn. As an adult I have had cats, who gave come with their own personalities. I love dogs and cats of all sorts and love to see their personality shine through exercise and attention. I have lots of flexibility with my current job and looking to add some cat time!. I'm free most weekday mornings and early afternoons. Availability for some weekends. Cats have lots of personality - I like to adapt to their needs from the cats who never want to interact with you to those that want cuddles and playtime.

About: I've spent my whole life around dogs, from raising Shepherds as a kid to recently caring for friends, neighbors, and families pets and volunteering at an animal shelter. That hands-on experience means I genuinely understand how they think and what they need. I can read a dog's body language, recognize when something's off, and respond calmly and confidently in any situation. What your dog gets with me: someone who shows up on time, every time, and treats your pup with the same care I'd give my own. I'm currently a Microbiome Science master's student at UCC. During the week, I am available after 5 PM and on the weekend am available all day Whether I'm visiting your home or welcoming your pet into mine, your pet's safety and comfort always come first. I follow the owner's routine closely, feeding schedules, walking routes, any rules they've set, because consistency is what makes them feel secure in an unfamiliar situation.

“Erin was very helpful, detail focused, and provided great care for our two boys. They were delighted their walk and we were delighted with the updates and pictures. House was immaculate after her stay too. 100% will book again.”

About: I have been surrounded by animals for most of my life and have always had a special love for dogs and cats. Growing up, my family had several dogs and cats, which gave me experience caring for pets of different personalities, sizes, and needs. As the owner of a Border Collie, I developed a strong understanding of the importance of daily exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent care. We regularly went on long walks, played in parks, and enjoyed outdoor activities together. This experience taught me how to handle energetic dogs, recognize their needs, and ensure they feel happy, safe, and well cared for. I am comfortable with dog walking, feeding, providing companionship, playtime, and following owners' instructions regarding routines and special requirements. I understand that pets are family members, and I treat every animal with patience, kindness, and respect. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and enjoyable experience for your pets while giving you peace of mind knowing they are in caring hands. 🐾❤️ I am currently not working, so I have full availability throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends. I am flexible with morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and can easily adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs. I am happy to provide boarding, walks, and care at any time that works best for you. I provide attentive, responsible, and loving care for pets either in my home or in the pet owner’s home, always following the specific instructions given by the owner. I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed by maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any medication if needed. I also pay close attention to their behavior and well-being, making sure they are happy and stress-free while their owners are away. For dogs, I enjoy regular walks, exercise, and interactive play to keep them active and engaged. For cats, I ensure a calm environment, clean litter boxes, fresh water, and gentle interaction according to their personality and comfort level. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, care, and affection, always prioritizing their safety and happiness.

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and farm animals, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. As an adult, I’ve continued sharing my life with both dogs and cats, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I’m a biologist, and I’ve even had the chance to help with rabies vaccination campaigns in Africa alongside specialized veterinarians for several years. Friends and family often trust me to take care of their pets when they need a hand. I love going for walks, playing, and just hanging out with animals, it never feels like work to me! I am currently learning academic english in UCC and I am able to work after classes. I am available from 2pm onwards on Mondays and Tuesdays and the whole day on Fridays and weekends. I am free to overnight if needed. I am very flexible. I prefer to care for pets at the clients home; I live in a house that already have 3 dogs and bringing a extra pet will not be suitable. I will follow all the instructions from the client conscientiously on how the pet needs to be cared. Each pet have their own ways and it is very important to embrace their needs and personalities.

About: Lifelong dog lover with years of experience caring for small and medium breeds. My pet care philosophy focuses on patience, love, and ensuring every walk is a fun adventure. I’m a big fan of walking and staying active, and there’s nothing better than having a sweet pup keep me company along the way! I attend a part-time English school midday, which makes my schedule very flexible! I am available for pet sitting every night, including weekends. I am also free in the mornings before 12:00 PM and in the evenings after 5:00 PM—perfect for an energetic morning stroll to start the day or a relaxing evening walk before bedtime. I offer house sitting services, so your pup can stay safe and comfortable in their own familiar environment. I am a calm, peaceful person, and for me, this isn't just work—I truly love and cherish the companionship of animals.
About: I’ve been the family pet sitter for years with 2 of my own dogs, Bucky 6 and Sasha 4. Looking to earn some extra cash so thought why not do it doing something I love, looking after someone else’s babies 🥰. I have my own home with a large garden and I work from home so dogs are walked during my lunch break and again in the evening for a quick run around the local park. Outside of that your doggo can relax on the couch with my two and get lots of cuddles 🥰 I work from home for majority of the week - the longest your dog will be alone is 4 hours at a stretch. I walk a lot, so your dog will get adequate exercise depending on their needs. I usually take my dogs out a lunch time and in the evenings for a quick run around the park too. I have a large fenced garden. I also have a crate that I have made cosy so if your dog needs their own space they can sleep in the crate but also happy for them to sleep on the couch. I want your dog to feel at home, this is not a kennels.

About: I’ve loved animals since childhood, growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, and even chickens. My dream has always been to become a veterinarian, and this passion guides the way I care for every animal. In Brazil, I have a 2-year-old small dog who is lovingly cared for by my mother-in-law, another devoted dog lover. All the pets I’ve had throughout my life were adopted from shelters, because I believe every animal deserves a safe, loving home. I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters, helping abandoned animals receive care, comfort, and attention. I bring this same dedication to my work as a pet sitter. I adapt easily to each pet’s individual needs—whether they’re playful, shy, senior, or need extra care. I’m attentive to routines such as feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and potty breaks, always following the owner’s instructions to maintain consistency and comfort. During walks, I prioritize safety by choosing calm routes, keeping a secure leash, and watching for any stress signals. For home visits or house sitting, I provide constant supervision, keep the environment clean, follow medication schedules if needed, and ensure pets feel relaxed and emotionally supported. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, loved, and at home while their family is away. Responsible, trustworthy, and compassionate, I treat every animal as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I’m organized, responsible, and able to dedicate time and attention to feeding, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and companionship. I’ve experience caring for dogs and understand the importance of patience, routine, and affection. I’m also a part-time student, so I attend school during the afternoons, but I still have flexibility to provide loving and reliable care before and after classes. I also keep pet owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel comfortable and confident while they are away. I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment for pets, always respecting their routine and personality. In a pet owner’s home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, playtime, and house rules to help pets feel comfortable and secure. I’m attentive, patient, and detail-oriented, making sure pets are supervised and well cared for at all times. I do not smoke or drink, and I treat every pet with kindness, affection, and responsibility, just like they are part of the family. I also do not have any other pets in my home, which helps provide a quieter and more comfortable environment for the animals in my care.

I was really nervous to book a sitter who did not have a history of bookings on Rover, but Orla exceeded my every expectation. Not only was she accomodating when I asked her to arrive much earlier than the agreed upon time, she left our house in impeccable shape - had it not been for items in the bin I would not have known there was someone in the house. We received photos and feedback regularly, and Orla responded immediately when I asked her anything. Above all, Orla was considerate and patient with my senior girl. Kiki has an advent calender, and was thoughtful enough to ask if she can give her her daily treat. Orla was loving, patient and undestanding with Kiki's ailments and she received all her meds and supplements. Kiki is my world and I don't take her care lightly. I entrust her to Orla with the greatest ease.

Olivia is absolutely amazing. She made Skyla so comfortable and treated her the way I would. Skyla was so content with her which made me so happy and put my mind at ease. Olivia is a kind, caring lady and I would highly recommend. Amazing. Thank you so much Olivia

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking rubbish out on scheduled bin collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cork choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
