“Steve and Robert provide amazing pet care! I cannot say enough GOOD things about them. They took care of our Australian Cattle dog, Labrahound, and two cats while we went on vacation without them for the first time and they were awesome. They got to know our pets well, excellent communication, good updates, excellent pet care. They sent cute pictures of our pets. I completely recommend their professional and reliable services.”

About: I have a lot of experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, from energetic pups and playful kitties to sweet seniors who just need a calm routine. I know how to read their body language to keep them happy and safe, and since I live right in the City Centre, I’m always nearby and reliable. You’ll get plenty of photo updates throughout the day! I’m also a pharmacist and covered veterinary science during my degree, so if your pet needs any medication, I’m completely comfortable following precise medical instructions and dosages. I have classes Monday to Thursday from 1 pm to 5 pm and work part-time in a café. This leaves my mornings, evenings, and full weekends completely free for pet sitting! Since I live right in the City Centre, I can easily fit in early morning walks, evening drop-ins, or full weekend care around your pet's schedule. I’m completely flexible and happy to help with whatever service you need, whether it's at my place or yours. If they stay at my apartment, they’ll have a large space to relax and play. For care at your home, I can pop in to sort out their food and water, clean the litter box, or take them out for a walk. Safety is always my priority, and I’ll make sure to send you plenty of photos throughout the day.
“I honestly cannot recommend Sofía highly enough!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we met during the Meet & Greet, Sofía felt like a family friend. She immediately made both Vida and me feel comfortable, and it was obvious how naturally she connected with him. She cared for Vida as if he were family. She was incredibly loving, attentive, and proactive throughout, sending regular photos, videos, and updates without me even having to ask. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from every update that Vida felt happy, relaxed, and completely comfortable with her. He was loved, cared for, and understood, which is everything you could hope for when leaving your dog with someone. Sofía also stayed at my house and was completely respectful, trustworthy, and responsible. I came back to a clean, calm home, and she had even left me a Coca-Cola as a thoughtful little gesture after I had mentioned how much I love it. It was such a kind, personal touch, and perfectly reflects the type of person she is. She is kind, reliable, communicative, responsible, and truly wonderful with animals. I could not have chosen a better person to take care of Vida. I would book Sofía again in the blink of an eye and feel incredibly lucky to have found her. If you are considering booking her, do not hesitate for a second. Your pet will be in the very best hands. Thanks for everything, Sofía. You are the best! Steph ❤️”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life, and really miss having my family home pets around. I would be more than happy to have some snuggles to keep your fur babies company while you are away! :) I’m currently working full time but have time on weekends or evenings to care for your pets! I also live a short walk from work and tend to go home on my lunch breaks, if your pet is independent I have a very small area out the back of my house which is completely enclosed, and I’m more than happy to have them on the couch or on the bed, whatever they would prefer

About: I've been surrounded by animals my whole life. I had a dog when I was little, and for the last 12 years, I'm the mom of a little furball cat. I've looked after dogs and cats for some friends at different times in my life. Recently, here in Cork, after looking a friend's cats, I decided to use my love for animals to help people like my friend who have to travel and can't take care of their furry friends. I recently stopped working due to back problems and I would love to be able to dedicate my free time to helping and caring furry friends. I live in a shared apartment, so it's easier to care for the animals in their own homes. I'm a clean and organized person, and I have no problem picking up droppings or cleaning cat litter. When you return to your home, it will be as if you were never gone.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. She treated my dog as if he were part of her own family, constant cuddles, affection, playtime, and genuine care every single moment. She kept in constant communication, sent regular updates, and followed his routine perfectly, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. On top of everything, she’s just such a nice, kind person, which made the whole experience even better. An absolutely amazing experience. She’s a total star. I’d rebook her without even thinking. 1000/10 – truly outstanding.”

“Highly recommend Yanara. She was excellent minding our anxious girl Daisy is our house while we were away. She was amazing at communicating and sent me lots of pictures which was amazing! She was clean and left the house in the same way she found it. Will be booking again! Thanks again Yanara 🤍”

“Olivia is absolutely amazing. She made Skyla so comfortable and treated her the way I would. Skyla was so content with her which made me so happy and put my mind at ease. Olivia is a kind, caring lady and I would highly recommend. Amazing. Thank you so much Olivia”

“Kat was brilliant! 😊 She was house sitting in my home because my cat is a bit hard to take care of. He usually sleeps during the day and hunts at night, but this is when he is hungry as well, so he wakes you up several times during the night while he comes in for food then goes out again. And he is needy during the day because he needs rubs and sometimes food too. He is also very picky. Sometimes, I had to put out five or more different plates for him to find the one he prefers to eat. And he likes wet food, so, you need to be around the house most of the time. Kat was taking so good car of him. And she left the house clean, organised, and just the way I passed it to her. Thanks you do much, Kat. You are great! 😊”

About: At a young age I started working with farm animals (mostly horses, goats and sheep). A few years ago I pet-sat a full year for a dog breeder / behaviourist which thought me a lot about dogs specifically. I have always had good instincts when it comes to most animals and have had a few of my own. Being in a new country makes me miss having dogs or cats around. I'm a full-time student in a new country. During weekdays I have around 8 hours of class. Usually from morning until 3/4 pm after that and during the weekends my schedule is very flexible. I live in student accommodation and cannot care for dogs in my house at the moment. I'll be more than happy to take them out for long walks or to care for them in their own houses.

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and farm animals, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. As an adult, I’ve continued sharing my life with both dogs and cats, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I’m a biologist, and I’ve even had the chance to help with rabies vaccination campaigns in Africa alongside specialized veterinarians for several years. Friends and family often trust me to take care of their pets when they need a hand. I love going for walks, playing, and just hanging out with animals, it never feels like work to me! I am currently learning academic english in UCC and I am able to work after classes. I am available from 2pm onwards on Mondays and Tuesdays and the whole day on Fridays and weekends. I am free to overnight if needed. I am very flexible. I prefer to care for pets at the clients home; I live in a house that already have 3 dogs and bringing a extra pet will not be suitable. I will follow all the instructions from the client conscientiously on how the pet needs to be cared. Each pet have their own ways and it is very important to embrace their needs and personalities.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Cork
Sofia was fantastic! She stayed with our cat for a week while we went on holiday. Our cat is very nervous and tends to get stressed when we're away, but she was totally at ease with Sofia. It was lovely to have that peace of mind while we were away - and we came back to a very happy and relaxed cat. Sofia was also so lovely to deal with and left the house spotless. We can't thank her enough ❤️

Kat was an ideal house-sitter and will rebook her for the future when needed. She was great with the two dogs, have regular updates, kept the house in excellent condition and went the extra mile by washing the spare sheets and even restocking our milk. As our first time ever dog sitter, I cannot rate her high enough, if you are looking for a dog or dog+house sitter, you have found an excellent one.

Highly recommend Yanara. She was excellent minding our anxious girl Daisy is our house while we were away. She was amazing at communicating and sent me lots of pictures which was amazing! She was clean and left the house in the same way she found it. Will be booking again! Thanks again Yanara 🤍

Helena is absolutely AMAZING. My pets really loved her, plenty of walks and play time. She made sure I was in the loop all the time with photo and video updates which reduced anxiety, especially when working with someone new. Amazing person and absolutely perfect service.

Olivia is absolutely amazing. She made Skyla so comfortable and treated her the way I would. Skyla was so content with her which made me so happy and put my mind at ease. Olivia is a kind, caring lady and I would highly recommend. Amazing. Thank you so much Olivia

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when contacting them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cork choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
