About: I've spent my whole life around dogs, from raising Shepherds as a kid to recently caring for friends, neighbors, and families pets and volunteering at an animal shelter. That hands-on experience means I genuinely understand how they think and what they need. I can read a dog's body language, recognize when something's off, and respond calmly and confidently in any situation. What your dog gets with me: someone who shows up on time, every time, and treats your pup with the same care I'd give my own. I'm currently a Microbiome Science master's student at UCC. During the week, I am available after 5 PM and on the weekend am available all day Whether I'm visiting your home or welcoming your pet into mine, your pet's safety and comfort always come first. I follow the owner's routine closely, feeding schedules, walking routes, any rules they've set, because consistency is what makes them feel secure in an unfamiliar situation.

I honestly cannot recommend Sofía highly enough!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we met during the Meet & Greet, Sofía felt like a family friend. She immediately made both Vida and me feel comfortable, and it was obvious how naturally she connected with him. She cared for Vida as if he were family. She was incredibly loving, attentive, and proactive throughout, sending regular photos, videos, and updates without me even having to ask. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from every update that Vida felt happy, relaxed, and completely comfortable with her. He was loved, cared for, and understood, which is everything you could hope for when leaving your dog with someone. Sofía also stayed at my house and was completely respectful, trustworthy, and responsible. I came back to a clean, calm home, and she had even left me a Coca-Cola as a thoughtful little gesture after I had mentioned how much I love it. It was such a kind, personal touch, and perfectly reflects the type of person she is. She is kind, reliable, communicative, responsible, and truly wonderful with animals. I could not have chosen a better person to take care of Vida. I would book Sofía again in the blink of an eye and feel incredibly lucky to have found her. If you are considering booking her, do not hesitate for a second. Your pet will be in the very best hands. Thanks for everything, Sofía. You are the best! Steph ❤️

About: Hi there! My name is Diarmuid and I'm based in Bishopstown. I'd love to help you guys out with your pet sitting needs! My family have always had dogs in our home and I learned how to care for and train dogs from when I was a young kid. I have been teaching dogs basic commands such as recall, sit, stay and heel for many years and value the importance of making sure a dog's needs are met in terms of exercise, mental stimulation and of course play! In recent years I have taken care of friends pets while their owners are away which has involved toilet training, walking, feeding, playtime and trips out to the dog park and local forests. I am very passionate about the wellbeing of all animals and would love to help any dog that needs a walk or a sitter. I also have experience with looking after cats :) Services include dog walking and pet sitting. Please get in touch and we can arrange times that suit you and your pet. Thank you! I have been interested in dog training from a very young age and I am currently studying full time to be a qualified dog trainer. Unfortunately I can not offer any services from my home at this time and can only accept customers looking for dog walking and over night pet sitting

Kat was brilliant! 😊 She was house sitting in my home because my cat is a bit hard to take care of. He usually sleeps during the day and hunts at night, but this is when he is hungry as well, so he wakes you up several times during the night while he comes in for food then goes out again. And he is needy during the day because he needs rubs and sometimes food too. He is also very picky. Sometimes, I had to put out five or more different plates for him to find the one he prefers to eat. And he likes wet food, so, you need to be around the house most of the time. Kat was taking so good car of him. And she left the house clean, organised, and just the way I passed it to her. Thanks you do much, Kat. You are great! 😊

About: I’ve been the family pet sitter for years with 2 of my own dogs, Bucky 6 and Sasha 4. Looking to earn some extra cash so thought why not do it doing something I love, looking after someone else’s babies 🥰. I have my own home with a large garden and I work from home so dogs are walked during my lunch break and again in the evening for a quick run around the local park. Outside of that your doggo can relax on the couch with my two and get lots of cuddles 🥰 I work from home for majority of the week - the longest your dog will be alone is 4 hours at a stretch. I walk a lot, so your dog will get adequate exercise depending on their needs. I usually take my dogs out a lunch time and in the evenings for a quick run around the park too. I have a large fenced garden. I also have a crate that I have made cosy so if your dog needs their own space they can sleep in the crate but also happy for them to sleep on the couch. I want your dog to feel at home, this is not a kennels.

About: I'm a reliable and caring animal lover with experience looking after my own pets. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, well cared for, and get plenty of attention, playtime and love. About: At a young age I started working with farm animals (mostly horses, goats and sheep). A few years ago I pet-sat a full year for a dog breeder / behaviourist which thought me a lot about dogs specifically. I have always had good instincts when it comes to most animals and have had a few of my own. Being in a new country makes me miss having dogs or cats around. I'm a full-time student in a new country. During weekdays I have around 8 hours of class. Usually from morning until 3/4 pm after that and during the weekends my schedule is very flexible. I live in student accommodation and cannot care for dogs in my house at the moment. I'll be more than happy to take them out for long walks or to care for them in their own houses.

I also have personal experience with my own dogs, one of which I cared for from when he was a puppy to when he reached 16 years old! As I am studying and currently not working my availability is very flexible :) I will give your dog constant attention and ensure they have regular toilet breaks as well as at least one good walk a day. About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and farm animals, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. As an adult, I’ve continued sharing my life with both dogs and cats, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I’m a biologist, and I’ve even had the chance to help with rabies vaccination campaigns in Africa alongside specialized veterinarians for several years. Friends and family often trust me to take care of their pets when they need a hand. I love going for walks, playing, and just hanging out with animals, it never feels like work to me! I am currently learning academic english in UCC and I am able to work after classes. I am available from 2pm onwards on Mondays and Tuesdays and the whole day on Fridays and weekends. I am free to overnight if needed. I am very flexible. I prefer to care for pets at the clients home; I live in a house that already have 3 dogs and bringing a extra pet will not be suitable. I will follow all the instructions from the client conscientiously on how the pet needs to be cared. Each pet have their own ways and it is very important to embrace their needs and personalities.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for my own cat and family dogs, so I understand the responsibility and attention pets need every day. I’m familiar with feeding routines, cleaning, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their environment. I’ve mainly cared for cats and dogs in a home setting, which has helped me learn how to read their behavior and respond to their needs with patience and care. I currently work part-time (monday to friday) from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM and study in the mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:10 PM. Outside of these hours, I’m available to provide attentive and reliable care. I can offer evening care, overnight stays, and flexibility during certain times of the week. I always make sure pets receive the time, attention, and consistency they need despite my schedule. I provide a safe, calm, and clean environment where pets feel comfortable and secure. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully, maintain routines, and make sure pets always have proper supervision, fresh water, and attention. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their space and keep everything consistent to reduce stress for the pet.

Kat was an ideal house-sitter and will rebook her for the future when needed. She was great with the two dogs, have regular updates, kept the house in excellent condition and went the extra mile by washing the spare sheets and even restocking our milk. As our first time ever dog sitter, I cannot rate her high enough, if you are looking for a dog or dog+house sitter, you have found an excellent one.

I was really nervous to book a sitter who did not have a history of bookings on Rover, but Orla exceeded my every expectation. Not only was she accomodating when I asked her to arrive much earlier than the agreed upon time, she left our house in impeccable shape - had it not been for items in the bin I would not have known there was someone in the house. We received photos and feedback regularly, and Orla responded immediately when I asked her anything. Above all, Orla was considerate and patient with my senior girl. Kiki has an advent calender, and was thoughtful enough to ask if she can give her her daily treat. Orla was loving, patient and undestanding with Kiki's ailments and she received all her meds and supplements. Kiki is my world and I don't take her care lightly. I entrust her to Orla with the greatest ease.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cork

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cork on Rover is €28.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 85 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cork. Enter your Eircode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when contacting them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking rubbish out on scheduled bin collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Cork walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cork choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
