“What a lovely, friendly and welcoming family who clearly have a great love of dogs! They looked after our boy Dylan so well and treated him like he was their own and gave him loads of walks and playtime. He was one happy dog when we picked him up! We would absolutely recommend Lyndsey to anyone and we would absolutely leave Dylan with her again.”
“It was the first time we left our little Lola alone, and that scared us. But the experience with Paraic has been fantastic. He sent us daily reports with photos and videos of how Lola was doing, he was very patient with us who asked a lot, and most importantly, we saw that Lola felt at home with Paraic. Without a doubt we will repeat, with the peace of mind of knowing that Lola is in the best hands.”
“Gill was great, very caring and Mocho seemed as at home from the beginning. She updated me daily sending photos of Mocho enjoying himself in the park and on the sofa. I highly recommend Gill and hope she will be available next time Mocho needs a minder.”

“Courtney was fabulous from start to finish. Dolly had no problem at all settling in and every update I got from Courtney you could tell she was really enjoying herself. Lots of love and long walks. Would definitely Recommend Courtney to anybody looking for a dog minder. Excellent service for an excellent price. Will be using again in the future!.”
“Hannah and Dave were amazing I can’t thank them enough for taking our boys. They were patient and have lovely with them even tho they can be challenging at time. Will recommend them to anyone looking for a minder. Thanks a million guys ”
About: I’ve been the family pet sitter for years with 2 of my own dogs, Bucky 6 and Sasha 4. Looking to earn some extra cash so thought why not do it doing something I love, looking after someone else’s babies 🥰. I have my own home with a large garden and I work from home so dogs are walked during my lunch break and again in the evening for a quick run around the local park. Outside of that your doggo can relax on the couch with my two and get lots of cuddles 🥰 I work from home for majority of the week - the longest your dog will be alone is 4 hours at a stretch. I walk a lot, so your dog will get adequate exercise depending on their needs. I usually take my dogs out a lunch time and in the evenings for a quick run around the park too. I have a large fenced garden. I also have a crate that I have made cosy so if your dog needs their own space they can sleep in the crate but also happy for them to sleep on the couch. I want your dog to feel at home, this is not a kennels.

About: I've spent my whole life around dogs, from raising Shepherds as a kid to recently caring for friends, neighbors, and families pets and volunteering at an animal shelter. That hands-on experience means I genuinely understand how they think and what they need. I can read a dog's body language, recognize when something's off, and respond calmly and confidently in any situation. What your dog gets with me: someone who shows up on time, every time, and treats your pup with the same care I'd give my own. I'm currently a Microbiome Science master's student at UCC. During the week, I am available after 5 PM and on the weekend am available all day Whether I'm visiting your home or welcoming your pet into mine, your pet's safety and comfort always come first. I follow the owner's routine closely, feeding schedules, walking routes, any rules they've set, because consistency is what makes them feel secure in an unfamiliar situation.

About: I’ve loved animals since childhood, growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, and even chickens. My dream has always been to become a veterinarian, and this passion guides the way I care for every animal. In Brazil, I have a 2-year-old small dog who is lovingly cared for by my mother-in-law, another devoted dog lover. All the pets I’ve had throughout my life were adopted from shelters, because I believe every animal deserves a safe, loving home. I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters, helping abandoned animals receive care, comfort, and attention. I bring this same dedication to my work as a pet sitter. I adapt easily to each pet’s individual needs—whether they’re playful, shy, senior, or need extra care. I’m attentive to routines such as feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and potty breaks, always following the owner’s instructions to maintain consistency and comfort. During walks, I prioritize safety by choosing calm routes, keeping a secure leash, and watching for any stress signals. For home visits or house sitting, I provide constant supervision, keep the environment clean, follow medication schedules if needed, and ensure pets feel relaxed and emotionally supported. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, loved, and at home while their family is away. Responsible, trustworthy, and compassionate, I treat every animal as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I’m organized, responsible, and able to dedicate time and attention to feeding, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and companionship. I’ve experience caring for dogs and understand the importance of patience, routine, and affection. I’m also a part-time student, so I attend school during the afternoons, but I still have flexibility to provide loving and reliable care before and after classes. I also keep pet owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel comfortable and confident while they are away. I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment for pets, always respecting their routine and personality. In a pet owner’s home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, playtime, and house rules to help pets feel comfortable and secure. I’m attentive, patient, and detail-oriented, making sure pets are supervised and well cared for at all times. I do not smoke or drink, and I treat every pet with kindness, affection, and responsibility, just like they are part of the family. I also do not have any other pets in my home, which helps provide a quieter and more comfortable environment for the animals in my care.

About: I spent many summers taking care of my family's dogs; I used to have a Labrador, but currently I have a cat who thinks he's a dog—he's really not afraid. I love cats and dogs. Currently I work the night shift from 3 PM to midnight. I have free time to walk your pet or visit them in the morning or early afternoon. I live in a building on the third floor, I have a park nearby to walk in, and my house is safe because I don't have access to the street.

About: FB: Harbour Hound B&B Instagram: harbour.houndbnb Harbour Hound B&B isn’t your usual dog‑boarding setup, we’re a non‑mixing environment, taking one dog at a time, or two from the same household, so every guest gets proper one‑to‑one care. Our guest has their own cosy bedroom for the duration of their stay. Dogs here sleep independently in their room, and they’ll also have short periods of downtime while I get on with normal mum things like cooking dinner or tidying up. Because of that, it’s important that your dog is comfortable settling on their own and doesn’t become anxious or stressed by this. We welcome: • Crate‑trained dogs • Dogs who were crate trained in the past • Dogs who are happy and comfortable resting independently This helps keep our home running smoothly and makes sure every dog has a relaxed, happy stay. If you’d like to get a feel for how I work, you can see videos and updates on my social media. As a stay‑at‑home mom, I have the time and flexibility to offer calm, focused, one‑to‑one care throughout the day. Every dog is welcomed like part of the family and taken straight out for a walk to help them settle in comfortably. I do step out for short periods for normal household tasks, but dogs are never left alone for long. We’re a nature‑loving family, and daily walks are a big part of our routine , they bring us peace and keep the dogs happy. We have two dogs of our own who are well loved members of the family. They enjoy their own space, so to ensure every dog feels safe and relaxed, we keep guest dogs in a separate area of the house with their own room and routine. This setup allows for one on one attention and a calm environment tailored to each dogs needs. Each guest gets their own private upstairs suite (aka our spare room), access to a memory foam bed and zero competition for cuddles. Please have flea treatments & vaccinations up to date

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Cork ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Many boarding sitters in Cork can stay with their dogs most of the day, but it’s common for them to step out for short periods. Since every sitter’s schedule is unique, it’s important to agree on expectations before the stay begins. Adding the number of hours your dog can be alone to their profile will also help you find the right match.
If you are worried about your dog being alone, ask a sitter how they make a dog feel settled in a new environment. This can help your dog feel more comfortable.
If your dog cannot be left alone for more than a few hours, you may want to look for sitters who offer 24/7 care. Sitters who offer constant care are more likely to take on dogs who need frequent attention.
Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
