“Airis was wonderful with our dog, she kept us updated with pictures and videos, she's extremely knowledgeable about dogs and their needs. We will absolutely be using this sitter again. Our dog really loved her stay. Can't recommend highly enough ”
“Doireann was absolutely amazing! I had to be away for three weeks and this was the first time I’ve left Biggie with anyone besides family. She took care of him as if he were her own! Thanks, Doireann!!”

“We're absolutely delighted with Emmet. Our dog Eco was so chilled and relaxed and obviously happy with his sleepover. I would highly recommend Emmet and his lovely family. Thank you.”

About: I grew up with cats and dogs. I have experience training dogs and looking after them and have experience with kittens and cats since childhood. I have a calm energy around animals and will always take their lead in my approach. At home and available all week. Live in an apartment so two walks per day- morning and evening, but access to plenty of green space in my estate for toilet and sniffs throughout the day. Happy to cosy up with dogs and cats in the evenings on the couch. Dogs who are comfortable in the car/meeting people can come with me to coffee shops and friends houses. Can come and meet friends dogs with owners’ permission. No garden, only green space in the estate, so dogs will be kept on the lead in my estate at all times. Off lead in specific places if owners would like/give permission. Cats will be kept inside with litter tray.
“As a bit of a nervous owner Maleen was the most amazing find. We chatted before I dropped Mia off and knew right away it was a great fit. Maleen sent videos and updates everyday which was amazing. Fully recommend Maleen and will definitely be hoping Mia can stay over again. ”

About: **Female dog boarding only at present** I have looked after my own animals and family/friend's too, for over 25 years. I have been around horses, cats, dogs (and more!) from a young age. I currently have one dog at home and I know how important it is to know your furry friend is looked after while you're away/working. My dog Cú loves the company of other dogs and I have some regular lodgers who are his good friends 🥰 I can accommodate for crates, dog beds etc and I am more than happy to give cuddles and treats and accommodate any dietary needs. I work from home most days so I will be with your pet all of the time. My own dog takes up his post in his beside in my office beside me and there is always space for more puppers there 😊 I have a fenced garden and plenty of nice spots for lead walks close to home. I live the in countryside and have an open field for running about if needed too. I never leave my own dog unsupervised with others, for his own safety and that of others. He is lovely and friendly but I always err on the side of caution working with all animals! 🙏
“My golden lab Luna had the best time with Ella and her partner and their dogs Kona and Casey. They took her on walks and adventures. They gave her a bath and loads of treats. In the evening, Luna was even watching TV with them on the couch 😂❤️ Luna was absolutely spoilt and had the best time.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our Bernese Mountain Dog pup! Daria took such wonderful care of her – making sure she was well-fed, walked, and even teaching her new tricks. She regularly sent us updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind, and our pup always looked so happy and relaxed. She went above and beyond in every way: helping our puppy socialize with other dogs, brushing and bathing her before our return, and even clipping her nails when she noticed they were getting long. During the heat, she was so thoughtful and caring – providing a cooling mat and refreshing ice water to keep her comfortable. It was clear from the start that our pup felt completely at home with her, and we are so grateful for the love and attention she provided. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter!”
“Paula gave our Dudley a great welcome which put us at ease right away. We knew he would be well looked after. We collected a very happy 🐶 the following day and got a lovely send off from Paula and her family. We can highly recommend Paula and look forward to linking up again on our next trip to Kilkenny!”

“I can’t recommend Sally highly enough. Rosie was so well looked after in a family environment in a beautiful setting. Sally gave regular updates and sent pics of their walks. If truth be told, Rosie had such a good time, I think she was a little down when it came to coming home. She will definitely be back ☺️”

Astor spent two nights with Airis. She is very kind and caring and he was extremely comfortable in her home. She sent is photos and videos too which were reassuring as this was our first time to leave him with a dog minder. We absolutely can reccomend Airis and know where to go whenever we're back in Waterford again. Thanks Airis

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up to date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in Waterford ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus), and Leptospirosis.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Many boarding sitters in Waterford can stay with their dogs most of the day, but it’s common for them to step out for short periods. Since every sitter’s schedule is unique, it’s important to agree on expectations before the stay begins. Adding the number of hours your dog can be alone to their profile will also help you find the right match.
If you are worried about your dog being alone, ask a sitter how they make a dog feel settled in a new environment. This can help your dog feel more comfortable.
If your dog cannot be left alone for more than a few hours, you may want to look for sitters who offer 24/7 care. Sitters who offer constant care are more likely to take on dogs who need frequent attention.
Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
