“William was absolutely incredible! He is so caring and took such great care of our animals and home! You can tell he takes watching pets and homes seriously and we can’t wait to have him back to stay with our dogs and cat, they adored him! Can’t recommend William enough!”
“Lilou did a very good job communicating with us and was patient when we didn’t get back to her on a question. The dogs were taken care of as well as the house. Appreciate her very much”

“Emma did an absolute amazing job with my pup! Kept in contact and sent pics. I would highly recommend her! She not only took great care of Bear Bear, but also of my home. Thank you Emma!”

“Sthephany and Jeshael were fantastic about sending us lots of photos and checking in when one of the pups started to get an upset tummy (she's a sensitive baby) - we appreciated knowing they were being watched and loved on as best as S & J were able.”

“We loved working with Bryan! Bryan is responsive, fun, caring, and knowledgeable. He sent photos and videos twice per day and kept us up to date on our pup's activities. Bryan house-sat for five days and we felt very comfortable knowing he was watching both our home and our pup! We look forward to working with Bryan again.”

“We left our two very active golden retrievers with Alec for the week. Along with plants to water and bird feeders to manage. He was professional, caring, and communicated well. My animals and home were tended as if it was his own ( or maybe his family home!) . I would never hesitate to have him come back and he certainly earned a 5 star rating. The house was clean on our return and although the dogs were excited to see us I could tell there was no stress evident from our absence.”

“Rebecca is a wonderful and extremely caring and diligent petsitter. I knew Marilyn was in great hands and Rebecca eased my mind every day with her level of care. I appreciate how well she looked after my old girl and would love to use her services again in the future!”
“Mitch always does such a great job with Georgia and I can tell she is well taken care of with him. Thanks to Mitch as well for his flexibility when we had to adapt our plans from a major snowstorm!”
About: I’ve taken care of puppies to elderly dogs starting when I was 11. I love all animals and have cared for many from extremely anxious dogs to very active ones. I’m home from college for the summer and have a lot of free time, I would love to spend my summer with your adorable pets! Over my years of experience I have watched dogs in different settings (their home and mine) but I often find they are more comfortable in their home, especially if they are naturally more anxious animals.
About: I’ve owned and cared for pets of all kinds, having dogsitting/housesitting experience since high school. I bring enthusiasm, energy, hospitality, and respect. I enter dogsitting jobs prioritizing your rules, your boundaries, with the understanding that I serve and support your family. I’m just out of school on the job search so I have plenty of time and energy to care for and play with your pets. I have lots of flexibility and openness in my schedule. I ensure to thoughtfully check on your pets, respecting your wishes and instructions to keep them on necessary routines while maintaining good habits. I am adaptable, detailed, and mindful.

About: I've had animals in my life since the day I was born and have owned both dogs and cats throughout my life. Animals have always been more than pets to me they're Family. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your furry family members. Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, companionship, or just some extra love and attention while you're away, I'll treat them with the same care and patience I give my own pets! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I'm already caring for my own dog and cats. I work just a few hours on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, which leaves me with plenty of time and flexibility to give your pets the attention, exercise, and love they deserve! I know how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your home. I'll follow your pet's routine, provide plenty of love, attention, and exercise, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I'll care for your pets as if they were my own and treat your home with the utmost respect. 🐾❤️
“Michael was so great to our dogs. We have an elderly senior 16 year old, who needs a lot of care and Michael was there for all of it. Medication, multiple potty breaks, hand feeding Charlie. Buster got to know him,and became a best friend. The dogs really enjoyed having him. Thank you so much .”

“Ella was an outstanding Rover sitter, and we would book with her again in a heartbeat! She stayed with our dog, Finley, and cared for our home for two nights while we were away. From start to finish, she was incredibly communicative, providing updates and making us feel completely at ease knowing Finley was in great hands. Ella was very responsible, self-sufficient, and took wonderful care of both Finley and our home. She truly went above and beyond. When we returned, the house was spotless, and she had even put towels in the wash before leaving. It was clear she treated our home with respect and cared for Finley as if he were her own. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and would gladly have Ella stay with Finley again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring sitter! TYSM again Ella!! 🙂”

“Jennifer took good care of our two dogs (one of whom is a puppy) while we were gone. She sent pictures and was attentive to our puppy’s needs and left the house very clean when she left. We really appreciated her help and our dogs were quite happy!”

“Sarah was an incredible sitter for our dog. She sent us loads of pictures and was really thoughtful in her timing and extent of care for our high-energy dog. The house was also in great shape upon our return. Her communication from start (we requested her super last minute) to finish was perfection! And we came home to a very worn out pup :)”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Idaho Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Idaho Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Idaho Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
