“Took great care of my animals and home. Lots of updates throughout the day. Made my vacation stress-free and I returned home to framed photos of my pets. Appreciated the extra effort! Great sitter.”

“A great team. They both came over to meet us and the pups prior to the sitting engagement. We got regular updates and also questions to confirm anything that wasn’t understood or clear in our instructions. Will DEFINITELY use them again. Thank you Ayla and Han!”

“Lilou did a very good job communicating with us and was patient when we didn’t get back to her on a question. The dogs were taken care of as well as the house. Appreciate her very much”

“Moriah took great care of our two Scotties while we were in New Zealand. It snowed once or twice and our sidewalks were clear. Our dogs were in great shape too and she also sent us pictures of them. We would welcome her again!”

“Kamilla is fantastic! Its really hard to find someone attentive and responsible; Kamilla embodies both! She was great with the boys, asked questions if she was uncertain abput something and she is super communicative. We look forward to having her back.”

“Ella was an outstanding Rover sitter, and we would book with her again in a heartbeat! She stayed with our dog, Finley, and cared for our home for two nights while we were away. From start to finish, she was incredibly communicative, providing updates and making us feel completely at ease knowing Finley was in great hands. Ella was very responsible, self-sufficient, and took wonderful care of both Finley and our home. She truly went above and beyond. When we returned, the house was spotless, and she had even put towels in the wash before leaving. It was clear she treated our home with respect and cared for Finley as if he were her own. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and would gladly have Ella stay with Finley again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring sitter! TYSM again Ella!! 🙂”

“Bryan had absolutely incredible energy with our dogs. I’ve never seen them so calm around a new person before. He was also a great communicator during the stay at our home, took good care of both the dogs and our space, and made sure to stay in close contact about departures and arrival times. He was both flexible and organized - really a great person to work with. Highly recommend!”

“Destiny has been walking my dogs for a couple months now and she has always done an incredible job with my two pups. She is very attentive to their individual needs and has always made sure they are well-taken care of! I recently went on vacation and Destiny house sat for me while I was away, and she did a fantastic job! She stays in contact frequently with photos and updates and she took great care of the house as well. In addition to this, one of my dogs started to get sick right before I was about to leave for vacation and Destiny was in close contact and able to take my little girl to the vet while I was away. I am so very grateful for Destiny’s quality of care for my pups. She treats them like they are her own and they absolutely love her. I highly recommend her for anyone’s pet needs and will continue to trust her to care for my dogs!! Thank you, Destiny!!”

“Lindsey was absolutely wonderful. She truly bonded with our dogs and gave them loving, attentive care throughout her stay. We could tell she paid close attention to their individual needs and treated them as if they were her own. When we returned, the house was in excellent condition and everything had been well cared for. It was a great experience from start to finish, and we will definitely be using Lindsey again many times in the future.”

“Morgan was amazing - daily updates and pictures - arrived to a clean home - and most importantly, my dog was happy and well exercised when I got home! I will definitely use Morgan again! She even sent me pictures of my flowers that bloomed while I was away!”

“Taylor and Luke did a fantastic job taking care of our puppy and senior dog while we were away visiting family for over a week. We have boarded our older dogs in the past, but our puppy was not yet fully vaccinated and we were nervous about leaving him for the first time. Both dogs loved Taylor and Luke when they came for the meet and greet and it was obvious they have a true love for animals. They were so attentive to our care instructions and sent daily updates and pictures. Both dogs were so happy when we returned. They also took great care of the house, including watering plants, doing some light cleaning and even feeding our turtle. They are incredibly trustworthy and kind individuals and I would strongly recommend their services.”

“Logan was available to house sit for us on short notice and we were lucky to find that he such a good sitter! He was friendly, detail oriented, communicated well, and most importantly he took wonderful care of our pets!”

“Tessa was great! She was responsive and took great care of our sweet guy. Our house was left clean, she asked to water our plants, and our cat seemed very well cared for while we were gone. We will definitely use Tessa again!”

“India was fantastic with Prince! She stayed with him and gave us all the updates that were necessary. She took very good care of him while we were away. She was also very tidy and cleaned up after herself. You could barely tell that someone stayed in my home! Highly recommend India!”
“Ezra was great! He was very respectful and easy to work with. The doggos were very well taken care of and happy. The fact that my very picky girl doggo warmed up to Ezra very quickly speaks volumes to his character. Would recommend and will happily book with him again!”

“So happy with Katy. Katy was on time respectful and accommodating. She took good care of our two cats for 6 days and 5 nights. Lots of pictures and play time. She was very patient and let them come to her in their time. The house was clean, bed clothes and towels washed. She even made the bed so when we got home in the evening we didn’t have to do anything but go to bed. After Katy left the shy cat walked around the corner and looked down the stairs for her. Katy left a lasting impression on all. Katy gave us the peace of mind we needed to enjoy our trip. So glad we found her and will definitely book her again in the future. Thanks again Katy.”

“Erika was wonderful with our old guy. She took great care of Bubba, gave him meds 4 times a day & did his workouts with him. She made our trip more enjoyable knowing he was in such great hands.”
“Jackson did such an amazing job with our dog! And a beautiful job taking care of our home! Can’t speak highly enough of him! We will definitely be using him again!!!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Idaho Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Idaho Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Idaho Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
