Sirrine is the best! Before we met her, we rarely took extended vacations because we did not like to board our dogs. Now we can go on weeks long vacations and not have to worry about a thing. She communicates with us all of the time while we are away. And the pictures of our dogs with her show how much our dogs love being with her. She is just great!

About: I have hands-on experience caring for both my own dogs and pets for neighbors while they’re away. I regularly care for my two dogs—a Labrador and a Collie/Beagle mix—handling feeding, fresh water, playtime, and daily attention. I’ve also pet-sat for my neighbor’s Bullmastiff and parrot, making sure they were fed, watered, and given plenty of interaction and care. What sets me apart is that I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I take pet safety seriously, follow routines closely, and make sure pets feel comfortable and loved while their owners are gone. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine alongside school. I attend school Monday through Friday, but I’m available earlier on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after 11 a.m., and after 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allowing me plenty of time for walks, feeding, playtime, and attentive care. I provide pet care exclusively in my client’s home to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, routines, and safety guidelines. I make sure pets always have fresh water, a clean space, and plenty of attention. I respect my client’s home, keep doors and gates secure, and prioritize the pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.

Carrie has stayed with our rescue dog on several occasions. Although Willy is skeptical to meet new people due to his difficult past, he instantly took to Carrie. We know that he is in good hands and gets lots of love when she stays with him. We highly recommend her services and will use her again in the future.

About: Hi! I’ve lived and cared for dogs, cats, and ferrets all throughout my life. I have also worked at a pet resort and volunteered at a pet rescue where I gained experience in dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes, reptiles, and birds. I have experience with giving medications, maintaining (mostly kitty) boundaries, and strict feeding schedules. I also currently have one pitbull (my stepson) and two young 1-year-old kitties (my children) bestowed to me by the Cat Distribution System! However, I have to say I’m partial to small dogs since I grew up with Shih Tzu mixes! I love them all. I schedule my life around theirs. Their whole world is me, so I prioritize their needs. I’ll do whatever they need me to do, one example being I have to now take my cats on their own walks (harness-trained) because they get jealous of their dog sibling. I always offer companionship and play if that’s what the pet’s body language is giving me, or I can just be a warming presence who just provides food and cleanup. I’ve worked with dogs who need 6 walks a day and cats who you need an oven mitt before serving food. I go based off them!

I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about Lexie! Entrusting someone with the care of your senior dog is no small thing, but my old ladies were in the best hands with Lexie. It was a huge reprieve to know my 13 year old lab wouldn’t be subjected to the stress of leaving her home. Even my cat loved having Lexie to snuggle up with. Thank you, Lexie, from the bottom of my heart. 🐾💕

To say Kimberly was a good or even great dog sitter does not nearly do her justice! She stayed with my dogs through Hurricane Beryl even when my house didn’t have power for days in the middle of summer. She made sure they were cared for and as comfortable as possible, going so far as to put cool wet towels on their backs and taking them to her house when I lost power, and made sure to stay in contact with me throughout the storm to make sure I knew how they were doing and were safe. I will be a repeat customer of Kimberly’s any time I go out of town and while I would love to gatekeep her so she has availability for me lol I cannot recommend her highly enough to others!

Lindsey watched my two frenchies, Boba and Mocha, this weekends while my wife and I celebrated our anniversary in Galveston. It was the first time we had gone on vacation since having the girls. It’s meant everything to us being able to go on vacation with a peace of mind knowing our babies are having probably more fun than us. We left our rover camera on (we let Lindsey know of course) and seeing the highlights had us cackling at what a good time they were having. She provided the exact ratio of fun walk time to cuddle time. She spoke to them so sweetly. I loved how she made sure Mocha always had access to her little stairs. I haven’t seen boba nap that hard since she was a puppy. She was zonked outtt. And for an anxious girly that’s everything. And every time I saw the camera mocha had sat her booty right on Lindsey’s lap. Boba claimed her spot immediately next to Lindsey and put one paw on her lap. They followed her everywhere she went. I take all this to mean Boba and Mocha have taken her in as a member of their pack. When we returned home the babies were so relaxed and the apartment was still clean and smelling nice and the babies had not inflicted any damage to the walls. This is more than I can say for when we go to the grocery store so imagine my elation upon returning to an intact home after 3 days away. I speak for my whole family when I say, Lindsey is welcome into our home and her service has been invaluable. 10 stars!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Humble

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Humble on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,459 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Humble. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Humble walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Humble maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Humble choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Humble. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
