About: My name is Jacob and I have 15 years of experience caring for mine and my family's pets. I also have approximately 4 years of volunteer experience at shelters caring for cats and dogs. I have experience walking and caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds and energy levels. From tiny pups to large, strong dogs, I'm confident handling them safely and calmly. I've worked with dogs that have behavioral challenges such as leash reactivity, anxiety, fearfulness and high energy. I'm patient, attentive, and always focused on understanding each dog's unique needs. I'm autistic, and I've found that this often allows me to connect especially well with animals. I'm very attentive to body language, routines, and subtle behavior changes, which helps me respond calmly and consistently- particularly with dogs who need a little extra understanding. My goal is to make every walk a positive, stress-free experience. My schedule is pretty flexible to do drop-in care for your pets or walks as needed. I am willing to work with clients so they can get the care they need for their pets. I am willing to do drop-in care at client's homes as needed. I can also take dogs for walks from client's homes as requested by client.

About: I’ve always had animals since I was born, and love and appreciate the sweet qualities they bring to our lives. I enjoy being able to fill in the gaps for pet owners so their beloved pet can experience less anxiety while they are away. I am 32 years old, married for 9 years, and have an 8 year old and 3 month old daughters. I am a nursing student and use Rover to make a bit of extra income, get exercise, and spend time with amazing animals. I have a husky mix and terrier mix, so I have experience in quite contrasting breeds! I also have a 4 year old tabby cat. PLEASE NOTE I follow the ASD (Anchorage School District) snow days and holidays and can not provide services during those times as my oldest will be out of school. Most of the time I will have my baby with me for walks. For this reason I can only accept dogs well trained on leash and who are ok with kids. She will not be allowed to interact with your pet, I will wear her in a carrier. I am available Monday through Friday 9 am with my last booking available at 1:30 pm. Please remember I follow ASD snow days and holidays. No weekends. I am well versed in escape artists and keeping them safely indoors. I have owned birds, fish, cats, and dogs. I am a nursing student, and even though animals are much different than people I am intuitive to if something is wrong. My current dog is 16 years old and I am familair with the needs of a senior animal.

My days are structured in a way that allows me to easily adapt to additions to my routine, including walks, check ins, or extended care. I’m fairly active and enjoy going on walks, but I also keep things low key at home, which works well for pets who appreciate both activity and downtime. I follow established routines as closely as possible, and am attentive to behavior to adjust my approach based on what the pet seems comfortable with while following the care plan. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of the space and keep things tidy. I make sure pets have what they need, maintain clean food and litter areas, and provide updates so you know how things are going.

I grew up with and around dogs and am very experienced in keeping dogs of all kinds safe, happy, and healthy. Lastly, you know what's best for your pets, so I will always do my best to accommodate your needs! When dog sitting, it is my priority to ensure that your dog lets lots of care and attention. I love hiking and walking in nearby parks, so I take all the dogs I take care of for walks as much as possible. I am happy to accommodate based on other needs! I find it very important to spend quality time with the dogs that I watch, so I am with the dogs very often and take them on their favorite actives as much as possible. This creates a low stress environment where the dogs can build trust and feel safe and comfortable during their stay.
