“Emily is the best! She was so sweet with the puppies, took pictures and videos, and even brought in our Amazon packages! I couldn’t have asked for more and the dogs can’t wait to see her again!”

“Maddelynn was absolutely amazing! She took good care of our girls. She kept us up to date with how our pups were doing with some cute snuggling pictures. We will definitely be booking with her again ☺️”

“Everything was fine when we got home! The dogs are happy and even though they missed us they were in good hands while we were gone! I appreciate the pictures and messages while we were gone! Thanks Meredith!”

About: I’ve had pets and taken care of them since I was a kid. I have also taken care of the pets of friends and neighbors. Everyone I has been very happy with the care their fur babies received! I currently work from home and am flexible with my availability. I am available for drop in visits and walks throughout the day as well as more continuous care, depending on the situation. I can care for your pets in your home following your instructions to accomodate how you and your pets are most comfortable and the schedule they are used to while you’re away
“Tee - Tee took wonderful care of our 10 month old Corgi, Blue. She communicated frequently, shared lots of photos and videos, and really made sure he had plenty of exercise and engagement. We are so very grateful for the excellent care she gave Blue.”

“Mitchell is responsible, friendly, and takes excellent care of Josie. She loves him. Excellent communication, updates, photos. He left the house spotless. Highly recommended.”

“Elizabeth took notes and asked questions when she came over for a Meet & Greet. She was flexible in accepting a shorter-notice stay request (less than a week out), and Remy looked happy in the pictures she sent. I’d happily work with Elizabeth again!”

About: I have been rescuing and caring for cats & dogs since I was 17 years old. Pets have a special personality that takes a special personality to care for them. I am also familiar with & experienced with giving oral & injection medications I work for the local school district Aug - June so I have summers off. But I have the flexibility/availability to care for pets year round My 2 dogs and 2 cats are very well cared for. We have a fenced in yard. The cats are not allowed outside but all are chipped and protected with flea and tick treatments. They are fed twice a day with occasional treats and water 24/7.
About: For the past 3 years I’ve house and dog sat my brother’s dog while he’s out of town. The summer of 2024 I nanny’ed for a family that had a large dog I was to care for. I also baby sat for a home, family, and Great Dane for a while. I love doing so and am excited to get to love on other’s pets! I work at Lutheran Services in Iowa as a full time family support worker. I work 95% of my days at home, making it easy to house/dog sit throughout the day! Saturday and Sunday I am completely free! I typically provide over night care when watching pets. I’m able to stay home most of the day which makes it easy to care for pets throughout the day and into the night!
“Adriana was willing to watch our dog overnight while our dog was recovering from a surgery. We were very grateful to find someone so compassionate on short notice over a holiday.”

About: I have two dogs right now. One is a yellow lab and the other is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The Spaniel is 3 and the lab is 2. So there is a lot of energy in the house. I have experience with walking them both while on camping trips, giving them baths, playing fetch and of course laying on the couch and cuddling. I also used to have an older Cavalier King Charles Spaniel so I have experience with all ages of dogs. I love to interact and give dogs all of my attention! I have currently just finished my first year of college at Buena Vista University. I am looking to make a little more money for this summer, and this job is something I know I would enjoy. I am not sure how my summer will plan out exactly yet, but I would love to make time and will be flexible! I live in the country with a 3 acre yard. There is plenty of room to run around and play fetch if needed. I also have two dogs on my own that are very friendly and playful, but can also be calmed if needed. I will respect your needs and wants as the dogs owner.
“Eliza was professional, caring, reliable, responsible and I felt comfortable having her atay overnight while away. She took excellent care of Josie and sent many updates and photos. Highly recommended.”

About: I've lived with cats and worked with dogs my whole life. From bathing my grandma's dog to walking pit bulls at the shelter, animals have always been a part of my life. Over the summer I'm looking for work wherever I can take it but mostly open. In the school year I am usually never gone more than 3 hours. I live in a pet friendly basement apartment with air conditioning. There is space for a kennel and other supplies if needed. It's not gigantic is very clean and the complex has a bark park.
“Claire was the perfect sitter! She is professional and a great communicator. We were out of the country and felt completely at ease knowing she was with our two dogs. She kept in touch daily with updates and pictures. When we got home, we could tell the dogs (and our house) were well taken care of. She also proactively offered to stay longer, knowing a snow storm was on the way that may delay our travel. Would highly recommend her to anyone needing a long-term sitter.”

About: We have had dogs, cats, & bearded dragons for 25 yrs! Neighbors, friends, and family members have trusted us to take care of theirs too! I have a flexible work schedule and I'm free most weekends. So, I would be able to take care of your beloved pets almost anytime! I have a fenced in yard. I have 2 labs and they would love more playdates if you needed boarding. We can keep them seperate if needed too.
About: I was a dog co-parent for 6 years, with a small chihuahua-corgi mix that was frankly too smart for her size. I trained her to shake, and drastically reduced her reactions to strangers on walks, as well as reactions to getting her nails clipped. I have walked and dog-sat for family, friends, and roommates since my teens. I've lived in three situations where roommates were away or very busy with grad school, so I ended up being their main dog-walker. I'm a very active person anyway, so I'm happy to get my cardio in while caring for a pup! I'm working part time and remotely, mainly on Wednesdays and Fridays, so the rest of my time is very free besides walking and hanging out with my own dog. When caring for a pet in a clients home, I can clean litter boxes, check food and water, play with the animal with toys or treats if available, and reinforce any ongoing training if the owner gives instructions on what to do. I'd love to let a dog into a fenced yard and run around with it or play fetch, although I'd be nervous in a yard without a fence and would want the dog to be leashed in that case. With a new cat, I usually just wait for the cat to approach me first instead of going looking for it.
About: Over the past several years I have helped care for family and friend’s pets. I currently have 4 chaotic cats. I’ve always loved looking after our 4 legged friends! I am currently doing factory work so my schedule is a bit more limited. I am fully available three days of the week, and the other four I am available 3:30-10pm. I can walk dogs as needed, as well as provide the attention and play that they need. I am also able to ensure all the owners rules or guidelines are kept to standard.
“Jamie did great with our two dogs while we were gone for a night, they’ve never really been apart from us so it was an ease of mind to know she was there to keep them in routine and give them good company.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hudson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hudson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hudson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
