“Angela did a terrific job walking my dog. She was prompt and flexible with start times. She even walked him in the cold rain one day! I would definitely hire her again as a dog walker to help me out.”
“Darin is a great friend to animals and goes at their speed which is important for one of our girls who is unsure of everything. He is also communicative and reliable. Would absolutely recommend!”

About: Hello! My given name is Rachel but I go by Gerome. I’d love to come help out with your pets- whether it’s sitting overnight, stopping by for visits, or taking them for walks. I’ve been enjoying pet sitting often for the past many years, through various platforms and by word of mouth. I grew up with beloved cat, dog and rat pets. I’m a plant person as well, so can happily tend to yours while you’re away. I can arrange my day around the regular schedule, needs and preferences of your pets, and give them plenty of company. I’m happy to provide daily updates with pictures. It’s an honor and a pleasure to get to spend quality time with pets in their own homes where they are comfy, and out n about on adventures! I love getting to know the quirks and character of each cutie, and providing care accordingly.
“Sookie love Elizabeth and Elizabeth is great with Sookie and flexible with making changes as needed. A true bonus to have her walking Sookie.”

About: I've had pets my entire life. I'm retired now and travel extensively for part of the year, so I'm unable to have pets of my own and thought this would be a great way to keep busy while I am in town. I have a doggy door and a large, gated backyard for games of fetch or hide and seek. I will provide a safe, loving home while you are away or drop-in if you so choose. When I'm in NOLA, I often work part-time from home. I'm retired so you could call me a homebody, and I'm often found working in my garden. In the fourth quarter of the year, I do travel until thanksgiving but will keep my calendar here updated. I am relatively flexible with scheduling. My son recently moved and took his Boston Terrier with him, so there are no longer any pets in my home. I have a large, fenced yard perfect for games of hide-and-seek or fetch, and I'm often in the back as well working on my garden. I do not have any plants that would present a danger. I love to take long, daily walks on the levee, which is only two blocks away...and would love to bring your pet along! I often have family visit, who also love pets.
About: I lost my own dog, Maika, a few years ago. She was 14 years old but it was way too early … I’m not ready to get a new dog myself, so Rover has been perfect. I moved to New Orleans a few years ago from Minnesota, where I was also an active member of Rover. My partner, Jonathan, and I bought a house that was built in 1909 — originally as an outdoor market in Holy Cross. It’s now a huge open space attached to a large fenced in yard. Dogs love it!. The dogs hang with me and I usually leave the door open to the back yard, which is basically a mini park with several fruit trrees. The neighborhood itself is also wonderful, there’s a large open field that is fenced in, I a great place for playing fetch or chasing frisbees. The levee is also perfect for long morning or evening walks. I''m a writer and work from home, so having a pup or two around is a real pleasure. I often take the dogs on walks or runs along the levee. But there’s also plenty of space in the house in yard if they just want to chill at home. Usually I work and puddle about doing arts and crafts and doggy's tag behind. The yard has both sunny spots and nice shade… Perfect for the pups.
About: I've owned and fostered feral cats for decades! Loved every neighborhood dog and adopted my own lab rescue a decade ago. Currently dog-less, I am missing our daily runs and walks in parks and neighborhoods all over town. I am currently without commitments and free to structure my days as needed to care for pets on their schedules. I rise early and frequently check messages to remain flexible. Animals' needs are handled first! Food, water, litter box and walks come before feeding myself. Treats and affection are priorities in maintaining a happy household. I usually read the newspaper and emails while sitting on the living room floor to spend quality time together.
About: Greetings, y’all! My name is Ashley, and I’m a public health graduate student. I am originally from the east coast (Maryland, New Jersey, Philly, NYC), and I’m a recent transplant from the southwest (Austin, TX). I’m currently working remotely and attending my Master of Public Health classes online so I have open availability to care for your pets while you’re away. I want to house and pet sit because we love to help people, their pet family members and their plants. I have my own “doghter” named Zoë, a 9-year-old black Lab that I rescued at 8 weeks old. When I decided to start planning to move abroad, I learned how house and pet sitting could allow me to have flexibility and new adventures as I travel internationally. As I prepare to move forward beyond the borders of the United States, I am new to exploring this platform through house sits in the city where I currently live. I want to pet sit in my own neighborhood because I’m accumulating reviews so that I can facilitate my move abroad where I plan to go to school, work remotely and house sit internationally. Since I'm planning to leave eventually, I have reduced the size of my container garden so I'm excited to have some houseplants and gardens that I will be able to tend.

“Rebecca was a great match for our boy. He loved her immediately. She arrived on time, took plenty of pictures, and gave the walking distance needed to burn some of his energy off while I was away. Will book again.”

“Chloe is dedicated to walking my pup who loves her. She braves all weather conditions and schedule changes with a good attitude. My dog Sophie gets the zoomies after every walk.”

“Lynda is excellent! She is super communicative and Roxy loves her! It was great to know our pup was in good hands while we were out and we really appreciated the photo and video updates. We’ll absolutely reach out to Lynda again next time we have a need for care.”

About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I work from home as a writer/editor and a live-edge woodworker, so my schedule is entirely flexible and under my control. I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. At a client's home, I pride myself on being highly adaptable to new routines and expectations, and my career as an editor makes me very attentive to details, e.g., medication needs, feeding times, sleep schedules, walk durations, etc. Whether you need someone to pop in and play with your pooch for an hour, or leave your animal at my home for a longer trip, you can rest assured they will be cared for, loved and pampered in a safe and comfortable environment.
About: I am a former dog foster parent, having fostered over 75 dogs from newborn to 13 years old! This includes blind, injured, and sick shelter dogs. I also trained a service-dog in training for a year. I have lots of former animal experience and I love walking. I start medical residency training next year and after I will have a furry friend to call my own, but until then, I cannot wait to treat your pet as my own! I am a 4th year medical student currently on a light rotation and with plenty of upcoming vacation time. I have lots of availability and flexibility! I live in a dog friendly apartment. I have lots of experience pet sitting and am looking forward to getting to spend time with your wonderful dog.
“Michelle has always been prompt and thorough. She is knowledgeable and will go above and beyond to accommodate your and your pet’s needs. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Lindsay is incredible. Our pup loved her as do I. I trust her as does my pup. She was mindful of a meniscus issue that my girl has by allowing her to dictate a much shorter walk, and instead Lindsay stayed with her for the remainder of the scheduled time to love and play with her inside. She thoughtfully filled her water bowl before leaving, and sent me a the most wonderful pictures of their time together. I will be scheduling a weekly standing with her.”

About: I have had a family pet for 13 years that i’ve helped take care of. Around 2017 I got my own dog that i take care of, while both are small dogs I have also taken care of of big dogs. I have watched around 5 big dogs (3 are recurring). I am currently unemployed and available everyday of the week. I am also available anytime during the day/evening. I am a good last minute pet sitter. I will not watch any pets at my home because I have 2 cats and 1 dog that currently live there. I will gladly watch pets at their home. I also will NOT walk any pets unless they are on a leash, pet backpack, stroller, etc

Holy Cross dog parents share their Rover experiences
This was my first time using Rover, and I couldn’t be happier with the care and attention provided to my puppy, Mickey, by Keyona. Mickey was immediately comfortable with her. Key was punctual, reliable, and genuinely seems to love dogs. She brought over a leash for me to try that stops the problem I have with Mickey pulling during our walks. I truly appreciate that she read his bio and was prepared to help. When she returned for the walk he was even more excited when she arrived with her sweet dog. Mickey loves other dogs and this was a treat for him. I also appreciate the updates and photos after the walk — it gives me peace of mind knowing my dog is safe, happy, and getting good exercise.

We brought our dogs down for the first and needed a last minute sitter. Sherryanne was quick to respond and so easy to work with. She also did a meet and greet before we started the dog walk sessions to get familiar with the dogs. Highly recommend leaving your pups in her care.

Joey and Bodhi made an awesome duo! Joey is prompt, positive, a true dog lover, and an awesome communicator. He took Bodhi all over the city, showing him new sights and setting the bar high for any future sitter. It’s clear Bodhi misses him—he was such a great influence and brought out the best in my pup. It would be an honor to work with Joey again. Highly recommend!
