“Jay displayed professionalism and patience when my dogs were being difficult. She had great communication and made us feel comfortable leaving them in her care. Would 100% recommend!”

“Our pups are our babies, so trusting strangers with them can be difficult, but Erica has made this process extremely easy and stress-free. We could not be more grateful for her attention to detail, expertise and love for Jarvis and Opie during their walks! She has been extremely thorough with updates and looking after their individual needs each time she stops by. We highly recommend Erica for any and all of your fur baby's needs!! ☺️?”

“Brianna was absolutely wonderful with my baby girl, Sammy. She communicates well, shares cute photos every day, and took the time to come meet Sammy and see how she’s doing! I would definitely recommend her and will be booking with her again!”

About: I love playing and spending time with animals. I am very respectful of the owners and responsible for what my job is. I’ve taken care of friends animals as well as family animals when they visit my home. Never a dull moment with pets, have cared for those with disabilities and very young puppies. I enjoy walking myself so long walks are something I love doing. I am also an outside person so playing with animals outside is good. I’m flexible with my schedule to a certain point. I have 3 of my own dogs and take care of my boyfriend’s two dogs, so plenty of experience in that sense. I own 3 of my dogs and manage to take care of my boyfriends two from time to time. So dogs are not a lot of work for me, my schedule is quite used to it. Always have them on a leash at all times to ensure they are within reach for me. I also will always have an eye on them to make sure they are not getting into anything they aren’t supposed to.

“Lohan is wonderful with King. He’s on time and reliable. One day it rained and he was concerned with King being comfortable in the weather conditions. King is excited for his walks with Lohan, as he wakes me up early to get him ready and then he patiently waits by the door. Lohan is very good with communicating with me and keeps me updated. I absolutely love the pictures I receive every morning. I would definitely recommend Lohan.”

About: I grew up around dogs most of my life, big and small, and treat my own dog like he’s my son. My husband Alex also grew up around dogs and is an experienced dog sitter. He grew up watching his mom care for dogs, who not only was a sitter but also trained dogs for leading the blind. Together we own a young Samoyed that we spoil to pieces and loves to play with other dogs. To our friends and family we are very reliable when they are in need of a sitter, and we understand the importance of needing to leave your loved ones with someone you can trust. We never leave the dogs outside by themselves, we take them on walks whenever we can, and we don’t let them sleep alone. We will let your dogs be part of the family and be their home away from away from home. I work part time and don’t have to commute very far for work, so I’m home more than half the time to care for your pet! My husband is in the military and has most nights and weekends off. We have a fenced backyard with plenty of grass. There is also plenty of space inside the house for your dog’s crate/bed and other belongings. Our dog loves to play and keep other dogs company.

This is best job I’ve ever had. I am retired from the health field. I am available to sit for small and medium size dogs that are friendly to other dogs. I live in a quiet neighborhood on a cul-de-sac. I have a great fenced in backyard. The dogs love their walks.. I will always treat your dog as if it were my own. I will give your dog lots of love and attention. I love the companionship. I have a great fenced yard with a gate that leads to a private road and wooded area. The dogs have a great walk there.
About: I’ve been caring for my own dog, Shaggy, for the past 11 years, so I understand the patience, love, and attention pets need every day. A few years ago, my family also welcomed another dog, Bella, into our home, and we’ve been caring for her ever since. Looking after two dogs has taught me how to meet different personalities and needs, whether that’s going on fun walks, playing, or simply making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family and always make sure they receive plenty of love, care, and attentio I am working part time and have plenty of time this summer to meet and take care of many cute faces I am available almost anytime. In my home we have two dogs who are my best friends I love carrying for them a well as having a good time and seeing them have fun.
“Really nice and professional and he was available even though I booked him at the very last minute. He treated both of my pups so well and I would definitely book Jim again!”

“Nataleigh is awesome. She was very flexible about the appointment time and shows up in time! She has taken really good care of our Sela who is recovering from knee surgery. I would highly recommend her.”

“After our initial appointment with Cayla we decided she was the right person to care for our two dogs over the summer. Cayla shows genuine concern for their wellbeing. She is very observant and let us know when she noticed anything that needed attention, her reports indicated at times if he was showing signs of decline or signs of improvement (He is 13 1/2 years old). I also looked forward to reading the adventures of our 3 year old dog on her walks. I highly recommend Cayla to care for your pets. If I could give her 100 stars I would! Because the bottom line is when you have a senior dog with special needs (like needing medicine, eye drops, sometimes coercion to eat his food, etc.) you want someone who is going to be patient, gentle, professional and reliable that you can trust with their care. I hope that this review helps you make the right decision of booking Cayla to care for your pets!”

About: What sets me apart is that I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I understand that every animal has a unique personality, routine, and needs, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m patient, dependable, and pay close attention to details, whether that’s following feeding schedules, administering medication, or providing plenty of playtime and affection. I’m comfortable caring for puppies and kittens who need extra supervision and reinforcement of basic training, as well as senior pets who require a gentler approach, mobility assistance, or medication. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind by providing reliable, compassionate care and regular updates so you always know your furry family member is happy and in good hands. I am a part time watcher/walker Pet care fits well into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable care throughout the day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Whether it’s morning walks, feeding, playtime, or evening check-ins, I can stay consistent with your pet’s routine. I enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for them is something I genuinely look forward to. I make it a priority to give each pet the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve while keeping owners updated with photos and messages. I always follow the pet’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable and stress-free. In my client’s home, I make sure they have fresh food and water, regular potty breaks or walks, playtime, exercise, and plenty of love and attention. I also keep their space clean, administer medications if needed, and send regular updates with photos so owners know their pet is doing well. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment where every pet feels happy and secure until their family returns.

Melissa is absolutely wonderful!!! My dog has only been left alone one time, so I was nervous leaving her for 9 days. But Melissa put all my worries to rest. I really enjoyed receiving the detailed reports and pictures twice a day. I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation knowing she was well cared for. I highly recommend Melissa! I will definitely hire her again for future vacations.

Alyssa was a total lifesaver! We wound up needing to bring our dog on a trip to Northern VA at the last minute and needed someone to walk her. Alyssa was prompt in her communication and asked great questions to make sure our dog was comfortable. She kept us posted on her arrival, let us know how the walk went, and sent photos. We will definitely contact her again when we are in town visiting. Thanks, Alyssa!
Jaelyn manages Ana very well and demonstrates a calm, attentive approach that works effectively with her. Elsa has a much stronger temperament, and given those challenges, I understand that Jaelyn is doing her best with both dogs. I appreciate her patience, consistency, and continued effort in managing their different behaviors.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
