“Alyssa is truly amazing. She responds nearly immediately every time, she sends updates and photos. I felt so comfortable with her at my home from the start, and my dogs got the best care. I am so blessed to have been connected with Alyssa. She noticed the smallest nick on my male bulldog (he is crazy and bangs his body up on everything, she’s at zero fault) she immediately sent me photos and was concerned as if it was her own. She went above and beyond, cleaning her room, areas she was in and her bathroom. I am 100% booking again!!”
“Shana is a gem. She stayed in my home with "the kids" for 4 days. My senior dog and my 2 cats were all well cared for and loved on. She also sent periodic updates and pics, which helped put my mind at ease while away. When I came home, everything was clean, and the floofs were all happy. Thanks so much, Shana!!”

“Another wonderful sitting with our cat Hope and Janicia! Hope is a very needy cat, that craves company and gets stressed without human interaction. I appreciate that Janicia was able to stay with her for two weeks during the December holidays. We came home to stressed free cat!”

“Kelli and Torrie were amazing pet sitters in my home! Beyond their sweet and adorable personalities, they took outstanding care of our fur babies! They were responsive and so easy to communicate with during the whole booking process. Max and Sophie looked so happy in all of the pictures they sent us every day, I thought they wouldn’t want us to come back home! We will definitely call them again!”

About: For 2 years I’ve took care of my neighbors dogs by letting them out, feeding them and playing with them. I love animals and I grew up in a household filled with animals. I believe a dog is a humans best friend and I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and your animal! I currently work nights at publix as a grocery stock clerk. I am very flexible and will be able to let your animals out and care for them whenever you need. I would love your trust to take care of them. I take my dog milo for a walk everyday when I get home so that way he gets most of his energy out and then he will lay down and relax for a little bit before wanting to play. I feed him twice a day and give him a bath once a week.
About: As a proud resident of Hernando Beach, I bring 20 years of experience as a devoted dog mom and recently a loving cat mom. I cherish every moment with my pets, whom I affectionately refer to as my “kiddos.” From walks to playful afternoons and cozy cuddles at night, I ensure they are spoiled with love, attention and treats! I also enjoy taking them on fun trips where they can swim and splash in the ocean. With a keen sense for noticing when something is off, I am dedicated to providing immediate care and comfort for all sizes and ages, including seniors who may need a little extra attention. Let me help care for your furry family members while you work or play! I work from home in Hernando Beach, and have plenty of breaks in the day to help out neighborly pets in the area if needed. I am happy to drop in and feed pets, change litter, clean up after both dogs and cats, give any meds that may be needed and let them out to use the restroom if needed and run around for a moment.

“Harry did wonderfully with Makenna! She sent photos of him during their time together, which put my heart at ease. Also, while he was happy to see us, he was calm upon our arrival so I know having her with him eased his separation anxiety.”

“This was my first time using Rover. Maddyn was great with my pets. She was easy to communicate with. She sent pictures and updates. She asked questions when needed. She brushed Bear and Dakota, shook out their beds. She swept and bought the mail in everyday. She let me know I received a package that had to be refrigerated and she put it in the fridge for me before I even had a chance to let her know about it. I will use Maddyn again!”

“Tonya kindly agreed to do a short stay with my pups as a "test run" for a longer vacation in a few weeks. We came home to happy dogs and feel confident about leaving them in Tonya's care for a longer period of time soon!”

“Sarah was amazing to my dogs. I had a nightmare situation where the original rover sitter never showed up and Sarah came in the next day and helped me out last minute on top of it being a holiday weekend and I’m so grateful. She was so amazing and kept me updated throughout the process. I cannot recommend her enough!”

“Holly was fantastic to work with as this was my first time using a service to watch my babies. I was extremely nervous as I know 3 dogs is a lot to take on but she was amazing and gave me a ton of update pictures. Best believe I will be using her again for when I go out of town. Thank you so much for taking wonderful care of my babies ❤️?”
About: I have had years of experience with dogs and cats Including experience working in an animal hospital as well as a kennel, and living in a multi dog household myself. I have lots of free time on weekends and holidays to make sure your pet gets the care needed, as well as time to provide care during the week days I have done lots of pet sitting in clients homes before and personally feel that is the best way to keep your pet’s comfortable. Yours pets comfort is impotent to me.
“Kristie is the BEST! She watched our pup Lolo for us for our whole wedding day and we didn’t have to worry about him at all, just enjoyed our day to the max. Cannot say enough how Kristie went the extra mile for us and made our day so much more amazing for being so kind, accommodating and lovely. Thanks so much Kristie!!”

About: I have hands on experience caring for animals of all ages, sizes, and breeds through both pet sitting and dog walking. I’ve spent time watching pets in their homes, making sure they stay comfortable in their routine while their owners are away or welcoming my home for a mini vacation! This includes feeding, refreshing water, basic care, and giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and take pride in being dependable and attentive. Whether it’s a quick walk or extended pet sitting, I give every pet the same level of care and patience I would give my own! Also to add my sweet babies get along with all animals. I work from home and go into the office a few times a month so I do have a flexible schedule for your fur babies! I have a large, fully fenced-in yard where your dog can safely run and play. I also have two friendly, well socialized dogs who love meeting new friends and can provide great companionship during your pet’s stay. I always prioritize safety and comfort, so I make sure introductions are done carefully and that every dog feels at ease. If your dog prefers their own space or if crate training is part of their routine, I’m happy to accommodate!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hernando Beach
Sam was amazing! She stayed at my house with my animals and took great care of them! She was great with communication and sent pictures of my animals throughout her stay. She left my house cleaner when she left than it was when before she came. I would highly recommend her and will book with her in the future.

Shana was great with Duke. She communicated with us daily and sent picture. Our travels were much more enjoyable knowing that Duke was getting the care and attention he needed. I would highly recommend Shana to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter. We will definitely be contacting her again when we need a sitter for Duke.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,542 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hernando Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hernando Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hernando Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hernando Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hernando Beach. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
