“This was our first time using Katie. We used her 3 days in a row and we were very pleased. More importantly our dogs loved going to her place and came home exhausted each day. Katie was quick to respond and sent us many pictures throughout the day. Highly recommend her!!! We will be a repeat customer.”

About: I've had dogs since I was a little kid. I have always had my own dogs and I have fostered several dogs over the year. I have owned cats just don't have any right now. And I have owned exotic birds and currently own an Amazon parrot. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their furry children over several years. I love learning more about the dogs and teaching them tricks. It is an amazing experience to see how they develop. I currently work full time from home, and only have to go into the office every other Wednesday. I have plenty of time for multiple breaks for walks. I have two friendly dogs to keep your pup company. I currently do not have a crate in the house. I am okay with your dog sleeping on the couch or bed.
“Laura is amazing dog sitters. She reliable, responsive, and our pup LOVEs her. She made us happy by treating our furry dog like it was her. She follow up with us with showing pictures of our dog while he was under her care he was so happy. I highly recommend to go through her.”

“Amazing! We were in town visiting for the day, and needed a sitter while we went a kayaked. My dogs are so worn out from having fun and playing all day (my favorite)! Caridad & Jose were so responsive & friendly! Would definitely recommend!”

“Phoenix did a day sit for us with Trixie, first time using Rover, we were very happy to find her. Trixie had a good time playing with her son and we were able to attend our event without worrying about our baby; would definitely use her again.”

“So amazing! My dog had a great time staying with Sara and Tyree. He had a great time and they took great care of him. They were all so sweet to my little energetic guy. I would definitely recommend! :)”

About: Hi I am Kiara, I'm currently working as a vet assistant but I also have 5+ years experience in the animal industry doing rescue and shelter work. I have always had dogs, cats, reptiles, & rabbits. I can medicate and care for all of your babies needs no matter their age or health concerns. I can apply ear medication, eye medication, oral pill/liquid, & injectable medications. I wake up at 5:30 everyday to do my usual routine with my own pets (medication, playtime, mealtime) and then I go to work, I'm currently working Monday through Wednesday 8-5( available for drop ins between 12:30-1:30 during to lunch break), but my fiance Jeremiah works from home so furbabies are never home alone! When I get home from work playtime begins with my pack of 3. My neighborhood is also very safe so we go for walks often! We have 3 fully socialized dogs that adore when they have doggy company! We have a fully fenced in yard with surveillance cameras. Every pet we visit or board will become family while they are in our care.
About: We are a Loving and Fun Family that would love to take care of your fur baby while you are away, walk while you are out for the day or have them over for a doggie play date to keep them socialized. My husband and I have had pets since we both were small from cats to all sizes of dogs. Your dog will receive plenty of loving attention, exercise, and will be treated as if they are part of our family. We can't wait to meet you. My husband works from home and is available all day to care of your fur baby so frequent potty breaks and playtime won't be an issue. Our animals have always been treated as part of the family. I have two children, a 10-year-old boy, and a 8-year-old girl. We have a friendly and loving Golden retriever named Winnie, who is never far from our side! We live in a nice quiet neighborhood that has a lot of safe sidewalks for walks and a fenced backyard that they can play in. If you want your pet to be loved, taken care of, and spoiled while you are away then we are the sitters for you.

“Miranda is the best! We were in town for a few weeks visiting family and brought our dogs with. Our Corso has separation anxiety and can't be left alone for any amount of time unless he's home in a known environment. We arranged to have Miranda watch our dogs during multiple occasions while we were here. They love her and we felt so secure in the knowledge that she takes care of them as if they were her own dogs. She was super flexible on timing when we were running late from various family events and did a great job with both our large dogs. If you're in the area I highly recommend reaching out to her.”

About: I love animals and enjoy having them in my home. I currently have a mini dachshund, Mia, who has grown up with cats, dogs, hamsters, rats, bunnies, and probably a few other that I have forgotten over the years. I would love to care for your fur babies (they are all babies to me regardless of their age) when you are at work or away. Pets are part of our family so it may be difficult to entrust them to someone when you cannot be there. Just know, they will be spoiled with treats, hugs, and kisses. I will care for them as if they were my own. For overnight care I have fluffy dog beds throughout the house or they are welcome to snuggle in bed with Mia and I. I do have a crate if needed although I prefer not to use it unless specifically requested. My schedule is flexible so I will have plenty of opportunity to care for, play with, and attend to your fur baby's needs for as long as you need. I have a fenced yard so there's plenty of room for safe play, a pool for summertime fun if your fur baby likes to swim, and steps for tiny legs leading to my bed for overnight stays.

“Bill & Tina were wonderful to our pup, we were visiting from out of the area and needed a safe place for him to stay while we attended an event. They were very accommodating and sent plenty of pictures. He came home happy and tired, we know he had a great time! Thank you Tina & Bill!”

“We can't say enough good things about the fantastic experience our little Bonnie has had spending time with Karina. She has provided a loving and safe environment, paid great attention to Bonnie's routines, and kept us updated with adorable photos and videos. Bonnie is pampered and happy, and we feel completely at ease. Karina provides exceptional service and genuine love for our puppy. Five stars!”

“Krystal was a great sitter! She took my dog for an overnight stay at the last minute. She was a great communicator, very caring with my dog, and even sent me pictures and video during the stay. I would definitely book with her again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,016 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Hernando Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hernando Beach commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,016 sitters in Hernando Beach, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
