“We couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter. Thank you Rover for bringing her into our lives. Our dog is absolutely part of our family and it is hard to leave her but sometimes you have to and to not have to worry about her or our home is such a blessing. Cheryl takes care of her like we would but she just might play with her more than us! 😁. We are grateful.”

About: For 2 years I’ve took care of my neighbors dogs by letting them out, feeding them and playing with them. I love animals and I grew up in a household filled with animals. I believe a dog is a humans best friend and I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and your animal! I currently work nights at publix as a grocery stock clerk. I am very flexible and will be able to let your animals out and care for them whenever you need. I would love your trust to take care of them. I take my dog milo for a walk everyday when I get home so that way he gets most of his energy out and then he will lay down and relax for a little bit before wanting to play. I feed him twice a day and give him a bath once a week.

“So happy we chose Sam to watch our 3 dogs when out of town. During the meet and greet she was friendly and wrote down all necessary information which put us at ease. She stayed in our home and everything was tidy and neat when we arrived home. We plan to use her services again in the future! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Our dogs loved Osvaldo from the moment they met him! He kept the house spotless, sent the best photo updates, and took incredible care of our two pups. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs and a clean home. We cannot wait to book him again!”

“Jessica was absolutely amazing! She was so great with our dogs and they loved hanging out with her! She was responsive and funny! We will definitely use her again!”

About: I have decided to not work the 9to5 jobs anymore and to do what I'm passionate about, furbabies. I am not new to taking care of doggies and cats, just new to advertising. I've grown up with dogs. I have been fostering and rescuing for 10 years. I have experience with the bouncy happy dogs, the shy and skittish, the ones whom you have to earn their trust.Furbabies are my passion. Each fur baby has their own unique personality and quirks. I have very flexible schedule and can accommodate easily. I don't have a full time job and spend most my days playing with my dogs and cat. I will follow the owners instructions on how they want their fur baby cared for. When I'm watching the fur babies it's all about them
About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, and I’ve always been very hands-on with the pet care at home. I am a trusted pet babysitter amongst my family. I value the pet’s mental health and happiness especially while their owner is away. I am a part-time college student, and I work at a catering company with a highly flexible schedule, so I can work around your needs. I try to encourage a stress free environment by sticking to your pet’s normal routine while you’re away, making sure that they’re happy and healthy, as they would be under your own care.

About: Animals have always been attracted to me and felt comfortable with me. I have a few months experience in a vets office and over 1 year now as a private pet sitter. I work part time at a brewery, and have plenty of availability to watch pets. I can come to your house multiple times throughout the day and even stay over night if that’s what you prefer 😊 I usually like to set up a meet & greet and take notes on each pet to have as much information about them before my stay.
“Kelli is absolutely amazing!! She took such great care of our boys while we were away for vacation. She kept us updated with pictures and texts the whole time. She took great care of our house and yard. We came home to a cute little card and picture gifts of the puppies. Thanks Kelli for taking care of our boys so we could enjoy our vacation:) Kelli is the BEST!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and horses and am comfortable with feeding schedules, fresh water, playtime/exercise, cleaning up after pets, and keeping routines consistent while owners are away. What sets me apart is that I’m very attentive, patient, and detail-oriented with care. I understand that every pet has different personalities and needs, so I take time to follow routines closely and make sure they feel comfortable and safe in their own environment. I’m happy to provide overnight companionship, lots of attention, and help keep the home cared for during stays. I have a flexible schedule and especially enjoy overnight and multi-day pet care. I prefer planned bookings so I can make sure I’m fully available to give pets consistent care, attention, and keep them on their normal routine. I prioritize safety, trust, and respect when caring for pets and someone’s home. I follow all instructions carefully and make sure I understand each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special needs before the stay. I keep pets supervised, make sure doors and gates are secure, and maintain a calm and consistent environment so they feel safe and comfortable. I also respect the home I am staying in by keeping it clean, organized, and treated with care, as if it were my own. Communication is important to me, so I am happy to provide updates so owners feel at ease while they are away.
About: Hi! My name is Krystal and I’ve had pets my entire life. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. At the moment I offer Drop-In Visits and Dog Walking only. I’m located in Spring Hill, FL and usually require bookings 24–48 hours in advance, though I’m happy to help with last-minute requests if my schedule allows. During visits I make sure pets get the attention and care they’re used to at home. This includes feeding, refreshing water bowls, cleaning cat litter boxes, and spending quality time with them so they don’t feel alone. I also send photos, videos, and detailed notes after every visit so you always know how your pet is doing. I’m comfortable working with pets that require special care or medication, including diabetic pets that need insulin. For dogs that need to burn energy, I offer walks ranging from about 0.5 to 2.5 miles, usually scheduled early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the Florida heat. For longer bookings (about 7 days or more), I like to spend extra time during visits whenever possible so pets get additional attention and companionship, always with the owner’s permission. My goal is simple: to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and happy while you’re away. I work as a graphic designer from my home so I'm able to watch over your pets at all times and even do long term drop in checks on pets, and Pet Walking services. We have an unfenced home, but very big yard. I leave my dogs to roam, as they already know how far they can go. As for other pets, I’d walk them and keep them on leash if we are to spend some outside time
About: Hello! I’m a lifelong animal lover with a deep respect for all living creatures. I live in a spacious home on 1/3 acre with 2 securely fenced back yards ideal for pets to run, play and relax. I’ve been caring for various pets since I was 12. I’ve had fur babies my entire life (mostly Shih Tzus) and helped care for livestock on my grandparents’ farm. Over the years, I’ve taken care of many cats and just about every dog breed—from gentle giants like Saint Bernards to tiny Chihuahuas—and pets of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet seniors. I’m experienced with both short visits and extended care, having looked after pets anywhere from a single day up to two months, in both my home and my clients’ homes. I believe love, exercise, playtime, and structure are important for a pet’s happiness and well-being. Pet transportation is available as well. Most importantly, I’ll love and care for your pets as if they were my own. My goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home. I can send daily photo and video updates to keep you connected. Contact me to discuss your pets needs and arrange a meet & greet. I set my own work schedule but my goal is to pet care full time so I’m now currently fully available all days and hours. I have a large and small fenced yards in a quiet safe neighborhood great for walks. Furry friends are welcome on my sectional and in my pool if approved. My home is peaceful and calming. Whether in my home or yours they’re my priority and will be safely and lovingly cared for exactly as you request.
“Jennifer stayed four nights with my three dogs. She was responsive and provided regular updates and photos. My pets were happy and well cared for, and my home was nice and clean when I returned. I definitely will use her again in the future!”

“Victoria was absolutely amazing watching our babies for a weekend! She sent picture updates while we were gone & treated our babies like her own. I highly recommend her and will 100% be using her again in the future!”

“Carter took great care of my boys. They aren’t the easiest (one doesn’t like strangers or other dogs and the other has separation anxiety and both are big and needy) but from the moment he met them, they were buddies. He left the house in clean and kept me informed on how they were doing while I was away. Will definitely book with him again and we are so thankful we found him.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 889 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pine Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pine Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pine Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pine Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
