“Monica has done an amazing job with our 6-month old puppy, Bubba. He has a lot of energy and can sometimes be a handful but we know he is in good hands with Monica. She also takes incredible pictures of their walks/play and responds to any questions we have very quickly. In addition, she goes above and beyond to try and accommodate any last minute requests. We strongly recommend her!”

“Alex did a fantastic job checking in on our cat during our vacation. He bonded with her right away and sent us great photos on a regular basis. If you need someone to take of your cat, look no further than Alex.”

About: I’ve taken care of my dog Sugar since I was 12 years old, feeding him, walking him, cleaning his crate, and now changing his diaper in his older age. I am very responsible and caring when looking after dogs. After Sugar broke his neck and needed surgery, I helped him eat and take his medicine, as well as holding him in my arms and comforting him. I now take care of two other dogs as well, Rocky and Sparky. When I’m home, I walk Rocky every morning, make sure the dogs are eating and drinking, give them cuddles, and play with them. Also, 2 years ago, I dog sat for two dogs, one of them being an older dog named Lucky that is blind, partially deaf, and diabetic. I made sure to follow all the instructions given on taking care of them and administered Lucky’s insulin shots daily. As I was dog sitting, Lucky had a serious health scare and needed to go to the vet. I was responsible for taking care of him throughout the process, getting in contact with family members, and ensuring that he got the care he needed to recover. Thankfully Lucky is ok, and his family is very grateful to me for the care I provided him while they were away. I am a college student in New Brunswick, so my availability varies on the weekdays, but I have open availability on the weekends. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I am available after 5:30 PM. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays I am available after 3:30 PM I care for pets by following the instructions given to me by their owners and facilitating a caring and welcoming environment. The pets’ well-being is my top priority and I will ensure that they are properly taken care of.
About: I've always had pets in my life! I've cared for a wide variety, from giant dogs to tiny ones, as well as special-needs cats and so much more. Each experience has enriched my life in unique ways! Full time college commuter, but very flexible schedule so my availability varies from day to day! Available for walking, feeding, etc! Reach out for more info :) I have extensive experience with dogs, particularly as a proud owner of two German Shepherds—an 11-year-old and a lively puppy! Additionally, I have a 6-year-old cat and actively assist my sister with her foster care efforts.
“Sams our go to repeat dog sitter ! Always taking care of the dog. Couple times now we’ve used her and still haven’t even met her ! But trust her with the dog without any doubts ! Awesome job”

“Jack was anwesome! He came right on time and thoroughly did everything we told him to do. He exceeded all expectations with his care for our dog, Colby. Not only did he ensure Colby’s physical exercise needs were met, but he also went above and beyond by capturing numerous funny photos of Colby during their walk, when he was fed, and when he was playing with him. We're very grateful for Jack's dedication and the joy he brought to both our dog and us. 5 stars!”
“I can’t say enough good things about Sam. He took excellent care of my two cats for nine days. Sam provided detailed notes and photos of my cats after every visit (which was twice daily). Whenever I had a question he responded promptly. I extended the length of my vacation and Sam accommodated the change without hesitation. If you’re looking for a pet sitter, look no further than Sam. He is outstanding.”

About: I absolutely love to hike and walk after work and on Saturdays. I would love to share my love of the outdoors with a dog who might not have the chance to be walked in the evenings or on a Saturdays. I am a loving Mother of 2 boys ages 18 and 21 and I own a Mini-Goldendoodle who has brought my family so much love. I am a very loving, caring and patient person who would like to share some spare time with a dog who could use some fresh air and great walks. I have cared for my dog for over 9 years and believe I have the experience necessary to be a great dog walker. I am looking for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings to walk and also available most Saturdays during the day. Sundays my boyfriend, my Goldendoodle and I hike all over the Hudson Valley if someone is interested in us taking their dog along.
“Liz was great watching my cats! She sent me lots of pictures and spent plenty of time with them to make me feel comfortable while I was away! She even got my shy cat out of her shell in just two visits which made me so happy to see while I couldn’t be there with them. Great communication from her and overall just such a great help while I was gone.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Hawthorne
Erica is a devoted dog lover and sitter. From the very beginning (soon after my initial request) and all throughout her visits, she kept in regular contact and always communicated clearly and kindly. Our dog Ranger never had it so good. She kept us updated with photos of his activities and the love and care she provided. We'll definitely have her back. She has our highest recommendation!

Alexander was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Ranger. He was attentive, responsive, and genuinely caring. I could tell Ranger was in great hands the entire time. Alexander followed all of my instructions carefully and handled small changes to the plan with ease and flexibility. I felt completely at ease knowing Ranger was being so well cared for. I’d highly recommend Alexander.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
