Beth house sat, taking care of our dog and rabbit for a long weekend and we will for sure ask her to house sit again! She was great at communicating, sending updates and pictures throughout her stay and put us at ease ahead of time through the meet and greet that our pets would be in great hands. We came back to happy pets who had clearly been well cared for as well as having left our house clean & tidy and in the same state as when we left. Our dog especially clearly took a shine to her, camping out in the guest room the first day after she left! Thank you Beth!

About: The Name is Yes-Purr. Shaken, Not Furred. Your pet isn’t just watched - they’re fully cared for like one of my own. With overnight stays and a flexible work-from-home schedule, I build their day around walks, play, meals, and consistent attention tailored to their personality and energy. From shy companions to social butterflies, I make sure they feel safe, settled, and genuinely at ease until you’re home again. I offer dependable, attentive pet care, which means your pet gets a calm, consistent presence throughout the day rather than rushed check-ins. My schedule allows me to integrate walks, feeding, playtime, and litter care into a steady daily rhythm, so your pet’s routine stays stable and stress-free. For dogs, I build in structured walks and breaks around my work blocks, ensuring they get regular exercise and attention between my writing and publishing tasks. For cats, I provide quiet, respectful care with regular check-ins, play, and feeding - always adjusted to their personality and comfort level. I’m flexible and responsive, while still keeping a reliable routine in place. I’m present, observant, and able to notice small changes in behavior or needs quickly. Your pet gets consistent care, your home stays respected, and you get peace of mind knowing someone responsible is there throughout the day - not just stopping by.

Natasha was wonderful! We met her first and knew right away she would take care of our pup with great care. While we were away, Natasha sent us daily notes and pictures of how Whisky was doing. Playing with her dog, Jasper, was an added bonus for Whisky! We will definitely be having Natasha come stay with Whisky again! Thank you Natasha! Our trip was worry free 😊

Margaret took great care of our dog and home while we were away. She followed his routine and even took him on several outings. She was communicative and understanding of his quirks, and very flexible when our flight was delayed several hours. She’s a very trustworthy sitter and we would book again.

Robert was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! He was patient, thoughtful, and really communicative. From the moment we requested a sitter until after the service was complete, he was swift to respond, sent lots of pictures, and kept us updated on all the pet care rituals. He did not flinch when the breaker needed to be reset during a housesit, and he took such wonderful care of our tankgirl, Bailey. 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up, and a 3 snaps in Z formation! Highly recommend.

About: I have had my own cats and dogs from pup to senior age. I have worked with pets that need high level of attention and exercise to very low level. I enjoy working with both! I love animals and staying active so that is why I really want to get things going on Rover. I recognize that your pet(s) are cherished family members. With lifelong experience in caring for cats and dogs, I am committed to treating your pets with the same love and dedication as my own. A little about me: My name is Connor, which fittingly means "hound lover." I work at a psychiatric hospital with twelve hour shifts. I help those that are unhoused and getting them back into the community. I work M,T,W and S,M,T - 12 hour shift schedule. So working end of the week works really well for me doing Rover. I love being active myself and running with dogs. I’ve only been able to have one outdoor cat in the past. They usually like being inside. In the house I can snuggle and keep them good company.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats alike since I was 16. I started by pet sitting overnight for my grandparents while they were on vacation and eventually started pet sitting for friends and family. I’ve handled walking, feeding, enrichment, and medication needs. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and dispositions and have no problem staying overnight as needed. I am self-employed and therefore have the flexibility in my schedule to care for your pets in the way they deserve, whether that be an overnight stay or regular walks and potty breaks. My cats sleep in my bed with me and get regular pets and cuddles. I provide enrichment as often as they seem interested. I care for clients’ pets like I would care for my own. If the pets are allowed to sleep on the bed or sit on the furniture with me, I love animal cuddles and am happy to share my space.

About: I have both had pets of my own and watched others pets including large farm animals. I currently live in a new build that does not allow animals :( So! I walk dogs at the Humane Society as a volunteer service, and I love getting to know individual animals on a deeper level through pet sitting. I am a business owner with an almost fully online business, so my schedule is flexible throughout the day. Which means that I am generally able to easily accommodate various types of pet schedules. I am a fast learner and very attentive pet sitter who cares deeply. I believe in strong communications to keep pet owners' worries at bay when they are away.

About: I’ve had two different dogs in my family since I was born. I have been responsible for feeding and cleaning up after my most recent dog. I graduated from the University of Denver and have spent 2+ months in the last year staying overnight to care for clients’ pets and homes. I am young and in fairly good shape, so I can run with dogs if requested! I have experience walking not only my dog, but various friends’ dogs. I get along well with all kinds of animals, but I am most familiar with dogs. Both of my family’s pets have been medium sized dogs, but I have done some dog sitting for both larger and smaller breeds. These span from Shih Tzu to Pitbulls to full sized Poodles. I can’t wait to meet your four legged friends!! I am looking for a furry friend to join me on my after class walks! I typically walk 1.5-3 miles, so hopefully your pup will be tired out I make sure when I come in that there is enough water and/or food in the bowl, then promptly take them outside. I will make sure all doors are completely shut before leaving those sneaky dogs alone!

Terry watched our dog recently and did a great job. We appreciated him sending a pic everyday and staying open with his communication. Our dog can be a handful sometimes and often tries to escape the yard and the day before we left, found a new escape route and as a result we had Terry take him out on a long lead and Terry was very flexible to these late changes! He kept our house in great shape and our dog was happy and healthy when we got home. We were very appreciative of Terry watching our dog!

Mason was so wonderful with our senior dog. He stopped by twice—once for a meet and greet and once the day of the sitting to review the loads of information needed to appropriately care for our dog. Mason communicated multiple times per day, never hesitated to ask a question when needed and always let us know our dog was in safe hands. Our house was left in great condition and we came home to a happy pup. Would highly recommend Mason!

Bonnie took excellent care of my cat Fish! It's clear she has lots of love and patience for cats. She was able to get Fish to warm up to her after a couples days and even got some snuggles towards the end of the sit, which says of a lot since Fish is pretty shy with new people. I came home to a very happy kitty and clean home. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out again the next time I need pet care.

FAQs for House Sitting - Hansville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hansville on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 6,547 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hansville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hansville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hansville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hansville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hansville. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
