Deirdra is a great communicator. She's got a calm and cheerful demeanor and our two black labs (mother & son) were very content in her care. Though never intrusive, she kept us abreast of their goings on while we were away for two weeks in Hawaii. She sent photos of their trips to the beach, play time with her mature Aussie shepherd and photos of my garden (since it was in peak Spring bloom). I would heartily recommend her to anyone seeking responsible, communicative, competent care for their pets. She's a delight!

April was awesome! She was very thoughtful in cleaning behind herself, and even what as far as washing her sheets and making the bed so that we wouldn't have to when we got home from our trip. SO nice! Our pups were happy we were home, and they weren't anxious from lack of activity or stimulation. It was obvious April kept them entertained and loved on during our absence. We will definitely be using her again in the future...actually, next weekend. :)

Katie stepped in on very short notice to care for Petunia for three days, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. It's clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. I would definitely book with Katie again and highly recommend her to other pet parents!

Bonnie took excellent care of my cat Fish! It's clear she has lots of love and patience for cats. She was able to get Fish to warm up to her after a couples days and even got some snuggles towards the end of the sit, which says of a lot since Fish is pretty shy with new people. I came home to a very happy kitty and clean home. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out again the next time I need pet care.

About: I’ve had two different dogs in my family since I was born. I have been responsible for feeding and cleaning up after my most recent dog. I graduated from the University of Denver and have spent 2+ months in the last year staying overnight to care for clients’ pets and homes. I am young and in fairly good shape, so I can run with dogs if requested! I have experience walking not only my dog, but various friends’ dogs. I get along well with all kinds of animals, but I am most familiar with dogs. Both of my family’s pets have been medium sized dogs, but I have done some dog sitting for both larger and smaller breeds. These span from Shih Tzu to Pitbulls to full sized Poodles. I can’t wait to meet your four legged friends!! I am looking for a furry friend to join me on my after class walks! I typically walk 1.5-3 miles, so hopefully your pup will be tired out I make sure when I come in that there is enough water and/or food in the bowl, then promptly take them outside. I will make sure all doors are completely shut before leaving those sneaky dogs alone!

About: I’ve been working with animals since I was little. My friends and family have trusted me to walk and take care of their animals, either when they have to stay late at work or they are out of town. I have always been trusted to take care of their Animals. I’m currently working as an uber driver so my schedule is very flexible for you and your pets. I can make almost any day or time work for you! I take very good care of my pets at home. Unfortunately I’m not doing boarding at my home but I’d love to stay with your fur baby’s while you are out of town and make sure they are happy and safe.

Caitlin was absolutely amazing! When she came over for a tour of Mulligan's day-to-day she was friendly, attentive and even offered to walk him for me while I showed her his routine!! She checked in with me every day and sent pictures of Mulligan smiling on his walks. She kept me in the loop with what they were doing and was just an all around amazing dog sitter! I am VERY particular with who I trust to watch my giant fur baby but I knew Caitlin would be the best fit to care for Mulligan! She doesn't know it yet but I'm about to ask her to watch him again for my next vacation ;-) If you want to actually enjoy your vacation do yourself a favor and reach out to Caitlin! She's simply the best!

About: I’ve been taking care of animals for a long time! I’ve taken care of small dogs, BIG dogs, moody cats, and dogs with medical care needs. I’m currently enrolled at UW for graduate school (go Huskies!) My program is classified as a “professional” program so most of my courses will take place in the evenings. I’m free during the day to help out with your pet needs! My cats are royalty at home. They both drink out of a water fountain, have a chip activated feeder, and eat food that is, frankly, bankrupting me. I only want the best for my fur-babies and I will treat your pets as if they were my own.

About: I have been dog walking for friends and families for about 10 years now with a variety of dogs! My experience with different breeds of dogs has shown me that all dogs have different needs to be met. My own dogs has taught me to always be aware of everything and to always be there for them. I enjoy being able to connect with animals and will make your dog my first priority! I will be wearing a mask when dog walking or sitting and will be following the CDC guidelines for COVID-19I am a student at Seattle University and all classes are online so I am free whenever you need a sitter or a walker :) Please let me know if you have any questions. Any time, currently I am unemployed and am taking classes online, so as long as I get a heads up I will be able to do whatever you need! I have a fenced place in a family and pet friendly neighborhood. I will figure out what else can be dog-proofed and to make sure that they is nothing they can get into.

About: I have had dogs my entire life and can't imagine life without them! Most of mine were rescues but I have a heart for all (also including cats, horses, donkeys, chickens). My 14-year-old hound mix Charlie crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few years and while he took a little bit of my heart with him, I really miss being with and caring for animals again. I have filled this need with pet sitting and volunteering at equine rescues and equine-assisted therapy non profits. If you want your big and little ones treated and loved just as you would do, I’m here. I’m a baby-on-the-sofa, next-to-me-in-bed kind of pet carer — and I’m happy to follow your rules if that means floors and crates (there’s still plenty of opportunity for love and affection). We will walk, play, snuggle and be as active as your pet needs. We can do car rides and doggy parks, visit friends, have play dates, go for puppucinos. I’m flexible, open, and want only for your pets to be as happy with me as they are when you’re home. I’m what I always looked for in my extensive use of pet sitters: dependable, committed, at home most of the time, and a true animal lover. I’m happy to administer meds as needed, have cared for my own senior dogs with limitations (deaf, dementia, physical limitations, hospice). I will not only care for your fur family as I would my own (which means a whole lotta of love, interaction, play, and attention), but I will care for your home in the same manner. I’m all grown up, mature, responsible, and reliable and have been a homeowner for years. Your home will be clean and maintained, ready for your return, and your pets will be cared for and happy to see you. I have been fortunate to have had at-home pet sitters who were superb. That’s what I wish to offer to someone else and their fur babies. Peace of mind, certainty that all is well, and confidence that their pets are safe, sound, and happy. I am retired from Emory University, so I am readily available. What Susan would like to know about your pet? Please let me know feeding habits, amounts, times. Normal bed/wake-up times. In and out times. Walking preferences, favorite toys, favorite activities. If there’s anything that scares or worries your pet, tell me. Medical history, let me know. Additional Skills Oral Medication Administration Special Needs Dog Experience Senior Dog Experience Cat care-also chickens and birds Can provide daily exercise. I am soon to be retired, work at home part-time and am finally fulfilling my passions-pet sitting, equine rescue volunteering and just bumming around. What could be better-dogs, horses and retirement? Your pet’s usual day is my day. Sleep late or not. Go for multiple brisk or leisurely (sniffing time!) walks. Lounge around at home or go for rides or to the doggy park. I’m flexible, open, and want only to make your little ones as happy as they can be without you.

Ashley and Zachary are absolutely wonderful. Our pup had to have multiple teeth removed a few days ahead of our trip and I was so nervous about leaving him and also tasking his sitters with giving him medicine multiple times a day. Ashley and Zachary were an absolute dream in this scenario. They took such good care of Fox and and gave him all the care and cuddles that he needed (we gleaned this from the wonderful updates and pics they shared with us regularly). They will be our first call from here on when we need care for our precious pup and our home too.

Camile was a model house sitter and cat care pro. When I got back I barely noticed she had been here and the cats were so well adjusted. When I was on my trip she kept me well informed with photos and other reports. Could not recommend her more.

Summer leaves the house in perfect condition. She spend time with my cats so they are well socialized when I get back and treat me like I'd never left. She takes care of plants and even organized the cat food drawer. You could not get a better cat/house sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Midvale Corner

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Midvale Corner on Rover is $118.73 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 6,596 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Midvale Corner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Midvale Corner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Midvale Corner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Midvale Corner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Midvale Corner. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
