About: Hello! My name is Nicole and I am an upbeat and energetic musician. I have grown up with dogs my whole life and absolutely love taking care of them! I also have 4 years of pet and house-sitting experience. I love dogs of all sizes -and cats- but have more experience with small dogs. I am a recent college graduate looking to take my pet sitting from part-time to full-time! I currently am available 7 days per week. Dates marked as unavailable on the calendar have been booked for overnight stays by private clients, but if you’re nearby I’d be happy to do drop-ins and walks. After letting the pets get accustomed to my being in their home, I’ll try to get a sense of how much attention they want and respond accordingly.

About: As a lifelong dog lover, I know just how special the bond between a person and their dog can be. About a year ago, I unexpectedly lost my own boy to a sudden heart condition. It broke my heart, and for a while, I couldn’t imagine opening my home to another dog of my own. I do, however, miss having dogs in my life—their personalities, their companionship, and all the joy they bring. That’s what led me to Rover! I’d love the opportunity to give your pup some extra love, attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away. Your dog will be treated like family, with plenty of patience, affection, and care. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pup with someone else, and I’d be honored to be that person for you. 🐾❤️ I’m a bartender with a schedule that gives me plenty of flexibility during the weekdays. My days off are often spent getting outside for walks, runs, and enjoying some fresh air, so having a pup to join me would be the perfect addition to my routine! Because I work at a seasonal location, my availability will become even more flexible as the season winds down. I’m looking forward to using that extra time to spend with dogs, whether that means a long walk, some playtime, or simply giving your pup some company and attention while you’re away. I’m active, dependable, and genuinely love being around dogs, so I’d be happy to make your pup part of my everyday routine! 🐾 I have a large two story home with plenty of space for roaming and playing, as well as a fenced in back yard. We do not have any pets at the moment so it’s very easy to accommodate yours.

“I was able to book with Linda under some tight time constraints, she was super flexible and made time for a quick meet and greet before booking. She has a very calm energy and did great with my beagle who was a little stressed after a long move from CA. Loved the pictures and updates she sent, highly recommend for anyone in the area :)”

“Rita was wonderful with my pup! It was great to meet her, and she went above and beyond with walking my dog while I was away. Long walks in Colonie park and socializing with other dogs (which my dog struggles with normally - yay!!). Will happily use her walking and boarding services again.”

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Halfmoon. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Halfmoon.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
