“Jayna was great with my strange, nervous dog and got my exceptionally skittish kitty to come out. She was very responsive, courteous, and gave detailed updates when needed. The pictures she got were wonderful. She really eased my anxiety about leaving my critters. I would definitely recommend her, and ask her to visit my pets again!”

About: I have an 11 year old senior dog who I’ve trained in eating, using the bathroom, tricks, and other manners since he was born. I’m known to my family and close friends as the pet-obsessed girl, who says hi to every animal I pass on the street. By picking me as your animal’s caretaker, your picking a complete animal-lover who will love your pets just as much as you do❤️ As a college athlete, I often take walks around my neighborhood on my own for leisurely time. I’d be over the moon happy to have a companion to take these walks with, or even take them to the park to get some play time together! Along with loving animals, I also would describe myself as being a pretty clean and organized person. However you leave your home is how I will leave it for you when you return.

“Ivan was very responsible in taking care of our cat, Mackerel, while we were away. He gave us some much appreciated peace of mind. Our kitty, who is rather skittish, warmed up to him quite quickly, and we enjoyed his recaps after each visit.”

“Sun was so attentive and caring to my baby girl and was able to administer her medications easier than I usually do 😂 they also provided super detailed cards and took lots of pics 📸 overall. Had a wonderful experience and was able to vacation in peace ♥️”

“Ana did such a wonderful job with my dogs when they had to take medications, had an upset stomach or itching issues. She sent me photos and videos which really lifted my spirits. Ana is very attentive and asks about how you would like things done in your home. I have two small dogs and would recommend her. My two dogs have different personalities and she was great at helping them each at their own pace.”

“This was our first time working with a pet sitter and Corinne was great! Our cat enjoyed the cuddles and getting to stay home instead of boarding. Would definitely recommend!”

“Sierra was such a wonderful caretaker for our pet bunny! She was super reliable and sent detailed updates with photos after each visit. Our bunny was shedding, so we asked Sierra at the last minute to add grooming and a daily tablet to her visits. She was really accommodating. After a 4 day trip, we came home to a really happy pet. We'll definitely try to book Sierra next time we're out of town. Thank you, Sierra!”

“Nathalie was amazing !! It was so reassuring that she was checking in on my kitty Duke. She did a great job. She was trustworthy in our home, reliable, communicative, and caring. That’s all one could ask for when watching your fur babies. Will definitely book her again.”

About: I've been around dogs and cats since I can remember. Love to be around pets and learn what they like and need. Whether it's long walks or chilling on the couch, I'm here for it all. I have a very flexible schedule. I can be available most days between 9 am and 6 pm with advanced notice, including Saturdays and Sundays. Personalizing care for each pet is the name of the game. I'm currently under the rule of 2 cats that demand couch time at all times, but playtime is never neglected. For higher energy pets, I try to have them spend as much energy as I can so they have the best naps ever. All while respecting each pets boundaries, of course.
“Bito is hands-down terrific! Really went above and beyond. Clearly won over the hearts of our cats, and even convinced our shy recluse to allow some pets — very impressed! I would trust Bito to cat sit or house sit without any reservation whatsoever. Highly recommend without any reservation whatsoever. Bito left my house cleaner than when I left for vacation, and watered my plants too :)”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs in my house since I was a young child. I spent a year at an animal shelter working in the kennel with a variety of cats and dogs with various behavioral and health needs. I work Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm but I’m very flexible outside of work. I’m native to the city and know the ins and outs very well. I have keen awareness when it comes pets with sensitivity around their own space. I am very respectful of others’ homes. I will always prioritize a pet’s well-being and stress levels in their own environment.
“Madeline is an amazing communicator, clearly cares about our pets and followed instructions. We couldn’t be happier with the care our cats received”

“Lovely experience with Eileen, who rescued us when our original Rover fell through. She was easy to coordinate with and took great care of our two cats!”

“Asia is truly wonderful, she went above and beyond and my dog was very happy! she is very neat! she sent me photo updates and i was so relaxed knowing my puppy was in great hands, we are truly blessed to have encountered her on rover!”
“Alyssa was terrific and I would absolutely have her watch our dog again. Our dog is very smart and sensitive and takes time to get to know people. Therefore, I was very concerned about having someone do drop ins while I was away, because our dog is not used to that. Alyssa was very attentive and instinctively understood what our dog needed, and made the whole experience comfortable. She is polite, kind, and a pleasure to talk with. Thank you, Alyssa!!”

“Joshuah took great care of our cat with digestive issues, and became fast friends with our kinda standoffish girl within a day. Great communication, lots of pictures, we felt super at ease knowing she was in caring hands. 10/10 would rebook.”

“Courtney, did a wonderful job with our boys. We have a shy cat and he took right to her. She sent regular pictures and did regular check-in’s. We feel lucky to have found her. She made our vacation much less stressful. We will definitely use her again or you recommend everybody else use her except if we need her at that time. 😉”

Jillian took such great care of our kitty! She provided detailed updates during the drop ins with lots of adorable pictures, and our kitty clearly enjoyed her company. I came home to a happy and healthy kitty thanks to all the pets, cuddles, and playtime she provided. Thank you, Jillian! 😊

Bob was super communicative and very sensitive to my cats needs and their anxiety! I was so surprised to see that my Charly came out to greet him in one of the update photos as she doesn't usually interact with people she doesn't know. I highly recommend that any cat parent hire Bob as he is clearly a natural with them.
Elizabeth was awesome and took such great care of my cats! This was my first time using Rover, so I was pretty nervous, but she totally eased my mind. She was super nice during the meet and greet and sent me pictures and updates every day while she was taking care of them. I really appreciated the communication and knowing my cats were in good hands. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth!

Alexis was super conscientious and searched the house each day to find my “scaredy” cats when visited. He tempted them with treats to get them to come out, and proactively asked about where to leave keys when I hadn’t left instructions on that. He was reliable and came at the same day each time - no fail. We are so grateful for his dependable and kind care for our cats when we are gone for long stretches of time. Thank you, Alexis!

Jayna has been wonderful with my cats. She's coaxed 2 extremely shy older kitties into coming out to say hello and has done an incredible job working out the energy of our youngest, most rambunctious cat. Sid has more mischief in him than we know what to do with, but his behavior is definitely improved after she visits and puts him through his paces. She has a very gentle and engaging energy with animals. Meanwhile, she is extremely consistent, prompt, professional, and courteous. Would 100% recommend.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guilford. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
