“We felt very comfortable and confident knowing our cats were cared for well by Abhilash. He sent great updates and photos while we were away, and our pets seemed to really enjoy his company. Everything was in excellent condition when we returned home. We would definitely use his services again!”

About: I am a just starting at Pace Law and missing my animals deeply. I have made a summer job the past few years dog sitting. I have a wide variety of experience, from caring for three 60lbs+ lap dogs for a week to three cats I would barely see. I love every animal like it is my own (smothered in love) and I make sure to take lots of pictures (I can’t help it!). I am starting my law school journey and I am looking to schedule in some animal time. I am completely free after 4 most days for walks or dinner time and have open weekends. I have lots of experience with animals of many different needs and can easily adapt to instruction. I will be sure to love your baby and provide care above and beyond.

“Araxie took wonderful care of Ella and Ira while I was away for a week. She was reliable, communicative, and sent updates and photos that put my mind at ease the whole trip. Both cats were clearly relaxed and well looked after when I got home, and she left everything tidy. I'd happily book her again and recommend her to any cat owner.”
“First time booking with Caleigh, great communication and experience all around. One of our cats is almost by rule very slow to warm up to new people, has spent days under the bed when we have some houseguests, so we were surprised to see Noel out and about getting treats on Caleigh's first visit. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m an experienced dog foster with SPDA, providing temporary care for dogs who need a safe, loving home while they wait for their next step. I also have experience caring for dogs for extended periods of time, including following their routines, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and individual needs. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each dog’s personality and comfort. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate pet care throughout the week, including occasional and short-term bookings. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where pets can feel safe and comfortable. I currently don’t have any other pets in my home, so your pet can have their own dedicated space if needed. As a foster with SPDA, I understand the importance of patience, supervision, and following each pet’s individual routine and needs. I’m also happy to follow specific instructions from pet parents to make their pets feel at home.

I especially love working and specialize with high energy dogs that need their daily zoomies. Additionally, as a former dog owner myself, I am familiar with what’s needed to keep your pup happy! I’m currently a law student, but I am go-getter and will find the time to fit your pets with my current class schedule. About: My name is Robert and I absolutely love dogs in every way. I have had dogs my whole life and know how to care for different breeds with wide variety of behaviors and needs. Dogs are just as much family as anyone else and deserve to be treated that way. I’m based in beautiful Hartsdale, NY, just steps away from a large park that’s perfect for walks and playtime. I have a fully fenced-in yard, providing a safe and fun space for dogs to roam freely and get plenty of fresh air. I also partner with two other experienced Rover sitters, which means your pet will always have round-the-clock care and attention — 24/7! Pet care fits easily into my daily routine — I have open availability throughout the week, so I’m always ready to provide walks, playtime, feedings, and overnight care as needed.. I live in a house with a nice big fenced in backyard and I also have a very large dog kennel that can be used if needed. Plenty of room to run around.
About: As a lifelong dog lover and owner, I understand how important pets are to a family. I provide dependable walking and sitting services with patience, attention, and genuine care. I treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. I value building trust with both pets and families through consistency, communication, and kindness. I work part-time, but I have open and flexible availability. I am willing to adjust my schedule to meet the needs of clients and provide consistent, reliable care, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize safety, comfort, and consistency. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, and any special instructions provided. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and supervision while maintaining a calm and secure environment. In a client’s home, I respect their space, keep everything clean and organized, and provide regular updates so owners feel confident and informed. My goal is to ensure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for as if they were my own.
About: Throughout my life, I have taken care of many animals- and more specifically dogs. I got my own dog two years ago -after having a family dog who I adored- and trained her to do tasks as a service dog for my partner alongside basic training. I have also watched multiple dogs for friends and family while they are away on vacation or business. Currently, I am a student with a very flexible schedule. I am free from Thursday through Sunday and will be adding more availability throughout the week when my schedule gets consistent. I have been a strong proponent of taking precautionary measures before accidents happen rather than after they occur. Therefore, no matter how trained a dog may be they will be watched 24/7 while outside and leashed for our walks around the neighborhood.

About: I’ve had experience with larger breeds. I had an Airedale terrier growing up and had a large golden doodle who was almost 100 pounds so I’m a big fan of big dogs! I’m able to walk larger dogs with ease and have experience with food sensitive dogs as my doodle was allergic to just about everything. I’m available to do dog sitting pretty much whenever. I work from home full time so I am able to provide a lot of attention to any of my dog guests who stay with me and my husband. Dog walking I’m available most evenings and weekends with access to dog parks in my area if you are comfortable with me bringing your buddy there to play! I’m passionate about dogs and would love to use some extra time caring and tending to them! I’m new to caring for others dogs but not new to loving them - thanks for considering me to care for your best friend! I work from home full time so any dog that stays with me is a huge part of my schedule and routine! I can provide lots of daily walks and special attention for those who need a little extra love! It’s important for me to know what the rules and routine are at home! We try to keep things are normal as possible and not instill any bad habits when they are in our care! They get free reign of our home and we also have cameras to keep an eye on things if we aren’t home!

About: I love animals! I raised and trained my German Shepherd and have watched pets for family and friends for years. I love all sizes of cats and dogs but my experience is mostly with larger dogs like retrievers and shepherds. I'm excited to help care for your fluffy beloved friend, big or small. I have a flexible schedule so please let me know if you need a specific time for a drop in! I typically am more free later in the day, after about noon. However, I can be flexible if needed, just reach out for any specific times. I'm an avid runner so I'm excited to take your pet on long walks (or short walks, whatever they need). I also love to provide treats so please let me know if you're open to me bringing some treats for your pet (and if they have any dietary restrictions). I'm excited to help care for them :)

About: I have two senior dogs, and plenty of experience walking, feeding, and bathing dogs of all shapes and sizes! I also have a tortoise so I’m careful with animals and patient with gaining their trust. Just graduated college and work from home so my schedule is flexible. I also have access to a car so transportation shouldn’t be an issue. I like to gain the dogs trust before taking them out for a walk, so I would usually sit next to them let them come to me and reward them as they get more comfortable being around me either with treats or pets or playing with them.

About: Hi! I’m a caring, reliable, and animal-loving pet sitter with hands-on experience in veterinary and animal care settings. As a pre-vet student, I’ve developed strong skills in animal handling, observation, and compassionate care through clinical and research environments. I worked as a veterinary assistant at Cornell University Specialists, where I gained experience working alongside veterinary professionals and strengthened my understanding of animal health, behavior, and safety. I also have a 11-year-old cockatiel and two cats of my own, so I truly understand the daily care, attention, and trust it takes to look after someone’s pets. I prioritize patience, attentiveness, and routine, making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or special care needs, I treat every animal like my own! I am also BLS and ALS CPR certified I am flexible and available throughout the week for dog sitting and house sitting. I am happy to help with daily visits, walks, feeding, and check-ins. I do not offer overnight stays, but I am reliable and willing to help wherever needed during the day. I provide attentive in-home pet care focused on safety, comfort, and routine consistency. I make sure pets are always in a secure environment—checking doors, gates, food access, and removing any hazards. I closely follow owner instructions for feeding, medications, and behavior routines to keep pets stable and stress-free in their home setting. With my basic medical knowledge from animal care experience, I am comfortable recognizing early signs of illness or distress (such as changes in appetite, vomiting, coughing, or lethargy) and responding appropriately by notifying the owner promptly and seeking guidance when needed. My goal is to ensure pets feel safe, cared for, and as close to their normal routine as possible while their owners are away
“As a repeat client of Colleen’s I can say that she cares so much about the pets she cares for! She is always on time and spends quality time with my 16 year old cat, who loves her. Thanks so much Colleen!”

About: I came from another country and brought my pets with me, and I have faced how hard is to find someone who takes care of them. Let me help you and your furry family as it is my own. I work from home in a flexible schedule and can accommodate several days and times for walks and drop-in visits. I drive so I can get to your family in a timely manner. With two dogs at home I am aware of the importance of a good walk, feeding and water refresh, and Ron, my cat, reminded me of how important is to have a fresh litterbox and a safe environment for all.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Greenburgh
She was absolutely exceptional! Communication was excellent throughout the weekend, and most importantly, it was clear that she genuinely cared about my cats. That’s something I value tremendously when trusting someone to look after them. She was attentive, thoughtful, and reliable, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. I would absolutely book with her again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to friends, family, and neighbors. Highly recommend!

Sarah is getting to know my skittish older dog, and she’s been so responsive and helpful in the process. She’s always on time and follows my millions of crazy directions to a T. We’re working toward hopefully getting him comfortable enough with Sarah to get his insulin injections. Going great so far! Thanks!

Araxie took wonderful care of Ella and Ira while I was away for a week. She was reliable, communicative, and sent updates and photos that put my mind at ease the whole trip. Both cats were clearly relaxed and well looked after when I got home, and she left everything tidy. I'd happily book her again and recommend her to any cat owner.
Danae was great! A friend and I were both out of the country and live close to each other, so she was checking in on both of our pets. She was really good about coordinating everything and communicating with us while we were away (even when I was terrible at responding lol). She’s super friendly and I felt totally comfortable having her take care of my cats. Would definitely book her again!

Tamette and Ahn were wonderful with Daisy when they stopped by to meet her for the first time before we were going to be away. They were gentle and patient with her and she warmed up to them quickly. Tamette let me know how it went in detail when I asked, which I really appreciated. We would definitely use her again, and hope to leave Daisy with Tamette and Ahn at their home when we go away for a week in January.

Marilyn took great care of our cat, Louie, and we felt very comfortable knowing he was in her care. She visited once a day, spent time playing with him, and always sent photo updates, which we really appreciated. Her communication was excellent throughout, and she was consistently reliable and trustworthy. It was clear she genuinely cared about Louie. We would absolutely book Marilyn again and highly recommend her to other pet parents.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
