“Halle did a wonderful job taking care of my 2 adult cats while my partner and I were away for 2 weeks. It's so hard to leave them so long, but it was a great comfort knowing I had Halle visiting regularly to take care of them. Halle made a great impression on us, and more importantly on the cats, at the initial meet and greet. They are super friendly and easy to talk to. My cats are admittedly pretty easy-going, but one of them is usually super shy when strangers come over. Halle has a kind, gentle presence and my shy kitty warmed up to them immediately. It was a huge relief to see Halle interact so sweetly with my fuzz babies before we left. Halle asked questions I hadn't even thought of to make sure they knew exactly how to care for my cats. I can tell Halle is an animal lover and a natural and experienced caretaker. Halle was consistently communicative, sent photos with each visit, and left comments about how my babies were doing. When our automatic feeder got unplugged one day, they made sure to contact me promptly letting me know what happened and how they addressed it (they addressed it perfectly, I might add). They even offered to stop by an extra time to fix it or troubleshoot if needed. When I got home, my cats had clearly missed me, but I could tell that they had been taken care of and loved on. The litter boxes were clean, their water bowls were clean and full, my apartment was as tidy as I had left it, and the cats looked and acted as healthy as ever. Thanks, Halle! Highly recommend, and would happily book Halle again.”

“Annmarie was fabulous! I would use her again! She is thoughtful and caring about your pet. Sent pictures and you can tell she cares for your family pet kindly. So glad to have found her!!! Thank you”

“This was our first booking with Rover and Erica was great! Explained the process really clearly and impressively built some rapport with our dogs who tend to be pretty wary of strangers. Was also great at communicating throughout, definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve had family pets my whole life and have taken part in their care. I also worked at a dog boarding place for about a year. I love all animals and Im looking to use any money I make from rover to help sustain living. I typically have Sunday and Monday off and I go into work at 6am every other day besides Saturdays so I could do afternoon walks or drop ins after work and anytime on my days off. I have cared for dogs and cats my whole life and I am confident in my ability to keep your fur babies safe and well looked after. I will follow any rules you have regarding your pets care schedule.
“Madison is the most reliable sitter I have found in the area, and my three dogs have come to welcome her to their little family pack. Very grateful to have met Maddy and she continues to go above and beyond taking care of them. It honestly helps me feel at ease knowing she is swinging by to see them. If anyone has any large dogs, Maddy has been an absolute champ with my three rambunctious doodles. She also helps me with my hedgehog which makes her even more qualified!”

About: I have been taking care of Dogs, Cats, and small Reptiles for a combined 10 years. I love to snuggle on the couch, go for walks, and chase the local squirrels. I have a full time time job my hours are 5am - 1:30pm Monday - Friday I also have a small gig job that ranges in schedule, will communicate hours when necessary. My two cats are pretty laid back, other than needing pets 24/7. Growing up and have had to manage many different types of pets, from super hyper and playful to couch potatoes.

About: When I was little and people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said 'dog walker' — and now I finally get to live that dream! This summer I have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your pets. I have experience with both small and large dogs, as well as cats, and I treat every animal like my own. This summer I'm home in Olympia taking a college course, so my days are flexible and my focus is simple — hitting the books and spoiling some fur babies! I have plenty of time and am committed to giving your pet consistent, reliable care My home comes with a large fenced yard — plenty of room for your pup to run wild, explore, and have the time of their life!
“helena is not just a great dog sitter but really helped me out when i was in a bind with losing my keys. can not thank her or recommend her enough !”

“Sarah is a wonderful sitter! Booked her for two drop-ins with walks and my dogs absolutely loved her. One of my dogs is a little older and requires medication and she was very gentle getting her to take it. She’s very communicative throughout. Absolutely recommend Sarah!”

About: Hello my name is Davis and I recently moved to the PNW! I have been taking care of dogs and cats since a young age, and now that I’m living away from family I’ve been missing my time spent with animals! Big or small, I love pet sitting and walking dogs, giving them the compassion, friendly energy, and patience they deserve! I am very active and would love to bring your dog on a hike or run with me. I am very good at making sure all you and your pets' needs are met, and am easy to work with! I also take great pet photos and will be sure to send you updates while you’re away. I am available during weekends, as well as mornings, afternoons, and nights throughout the week. I can work with you to accommodate a schedule that works best! I am a kind pet sitter/walker who respects your animal's needs, as well as any directions and specifications required to watch your pet in your home. I have pet sat for many years during my life, and know that everyone has unique setups and requirements, so I pay good attention to what is needed to best fit you and your pet! My cat at home is very well loved and taken care of, maybe too loved haha! She complains because we hug her too much, she has a very good life though even with her gripes about hugging. We play with her multiple times a day and she is fed a healthy diet, her litter box is scooped at least once daily!
“Becky is amazing! My ‘pup’ is going to be 13 years so he’s really a senior and I have to admit I am a bit protective! She learned about all of his needs and asked some great questions, which I really appreciated. She provided me with pics during her time with him and when I got home, it was obvious he was well cared for. I definitely recommend her and am so grateful to have found someone I can trust.”

“Jed was very professional and helpful with our pups. He kept us updated on the status of them when he went over to let them out. Thank you so much for the help.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, house birds, falcons, rodents, fish, chickens, ducks, and plenty of other animals since I was a child and have helped care for both young and senior pets I’m currently unemployed searching for jobs, so my routine is really flexible, only needing to set aside time for job interviews and family. I currently have the ability for extended house/pet sitting needs. I do not have the ability for boarding animals currently, however with the services I currently offer I am gentle and respectful of all animals, their owners, and the owners property.

I have experience with special diets, medications, etc! Just let me know what your pet(s) need from me. Also comfortable with exotic animals (birds, reptiles, etc!). I am currently going back to college online so my schedule is pretty flexible for drop in visits and walks! My afternoons and evenings are typically free. As a pet mom of three (2 cats and a cattle dog mix), I know how important it is to have trust in your sitter and that reliability is everything, I am a strong communicator and will always have your pets comfort and best interest in mind.

About: Hey there, my name's Beka and I love critters of all shapes and sizes! Pups hold a special place in my heart. I raised and trained several dogs growing up, and I've spent a lot of time petsitting breeds of various sizes and energy levels throughout the years. That work has included care for litters of young pit puppies, sitting and assisting in the training of a deaf Australian shepherd pup, plus walking dogs of all ages and providing more laid back companionship to elderly canines. I'm comfortable and competent administering medicine and eager to learn the individual needs of your dog. Currently, I live a house with 3 cats and a frog. Other animals I've 'sat' include cats, rats, snakes, and chickens. There's no critter I wouldn't want to meet! Currently I work part time as a Barista and have mostly open availability Sunday through Thursday. If you work long office hours and need someone to get your pal out to stretch their legs, we could be a great fit! Please note that on workdays (thru-sat) I am not available 7:30am-4pm. I take a conscientious approach to house and pet sitting. Your home is your personal space and it's important to me that you feel respected.
“Melanie did a great job taking care of my very unfriendly cat Daisy! She sent lots of pictures & updates, which I enjoyed getting. Melanie brought my mail in & took my garbage out to the curb for pick up too. She went above & beyond! I am so happy to have found her to take care of Daisy when I am gone!”

About: I’ve been around animals for most of my life and have cared for both dogs and cats. I grew up with pets, including a cat, two small cavapoos, a medium lab-boxer mix, and a large yellow lab, so I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and personalities. I started helping with pet care when I was around 9 and began doing paid pet sitting jobs in high school. I have experience with walking, feeding, drop-in visits, overnight sitting, giving medication, senior pet care, and spending time playing with and comforting pets. I’m patient, gentle, reliable, and detail-oriented, and I always make sure to follow each pet’s routine closely. I also have my own car, which makes it easier for me to be dependable and flexible for walks, check-ins, and house sitting. I’m currently fully flexible and available for pet care in the Olympia/Lacey area, especially around Boston Harbor. I am available most days and times for dog walks and drop-in visits, with the exception of very early mornings. Pet care fits well into my current routine, and I have my own car, so I can be reliable and flexible with visits. I’m mainly hoping to offer dog walking and drop-in visits, but I may be open to house sitting depending on the situation and what your pet needs. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I always make sure to follow each owner’s instructions carefully. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, water, medication, leash rules, crates, gates, and each pet’s normal routine. I will keep dogs leashed outside unless they are in a secure enclosed space or the owner specifically says otherwise. I’m comfortable cleaning up after pets, picking up after walks, and making sure their space is left clean. I’m also happy to send photo and text updates so you know your pet is safe, cared for, and doing well while you’re away.

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I've helped rescue nine cats and raised seven from kittens to adulthood, which has given me extensive experience with feline care and behavior. I love getting to know each pet's unique personality and building a bond with them through play, attention, and consistent care. In addition to cats, I regularly help care for my family's dog through walks, playtime, and daily care. I also have experience raising and caring for ducks, which has taught me the importance of providing consistent care, maintaining routines, and paying attention to each animal's needs. While cats are where most of my experience lies, I'm excited to work with dogs and other animals as well. I'm reliable, attentive to detailed care instructions, and dedicated to making sure pets feel comfortable, happy, and loved while their owners are away. Whether your pet needs playtime, companionship, exercise, or specialized care, I'll treat them with the same patience and attention I give my own animals. I'm currently on summer break from college, so I'll have almost unlimited free time to play and care for your pets! I also don't mind weird hours, day or night. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any other care requirements provided by the owner. I like to be extra attentive and keep a close eye on pets because their safety and comfort are my top priorities. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship while you're away, helping them feel happy and secure in their familiar environment.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
