“Kept us updated and dropped in as requested. Came by beforehand to do a meet-and-greet :) (Also brought a HUGE package in from the front porch that wasn't suppose to arrive for another week!!) Thanks!”

“McKenzie did an amazing job caring for Leo while I was away. The timely communication and follow up was top notch and kept me at ease knowing he was being taken care of in absence.”

“Randi was awesome! I don’t often leave my dog so I was fairly nervous to use a stranger. However, she came by while I was here to meet my dog, and watching her with him immediately put me at ease. We have already booked another session with her!”

About: I have worked with animals since I was 16, including experience with exotics, livestock, and companion animals. I am currently pet sitting for 3 families irregularly and definitely have time to spare to care for your pets!! I’m currently working at an animal shelter, shifts are only 5 hours at a time, either 7am-12pm or 3-8pm. I’m excited to meet your animals!! I’m currently working part time at an animal shelter in 5 hour shifts. It’s either a 7am-12pm or 3-8pm shift. I will have plenty of time to stop by in between or more than half the day to spend with your animals! I will always put your pets safety first and pay attention to their body language. When I take care of them I will remain vigilant and make sure they are happy and healthy!
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have been caring for them since I was 9. I have experience with all kinds of personalities, from easygoing dogs to more high-maintenance pets. I grew up with a Labrador/Mastiff mix and now have an older Beagle, two Golden Retrievers, and two cats. So I’m comfortable caring for pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities! I’m currently a junior biology student at RMC and plan to pursue veterinary medicine. I’ve also worked as a kennel technician at a boarding facility for 3 years, where I cared for a variety of dogs and cats and learned how to recognize changes in behavior and health, prevent stressful situations, and safely handle different personalities. I’m trained in giving pill and oral medications as well as applying topical medications such as ointments, oils, and sprays. I understand how important it is for medications to be given correctly and on time, especially for pets who rely on medications for conditions like heart or seizure issues. Most importantly, I want your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, stimulation, and lots of care based on their individual needs. I’m currently a college student at RMC, so my weekday availability depends on my class schedule. My classes are Mondays from 9:10 AM–4:30 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00–9:30 AM, 1:20–2:50 PM, and 4:00–5:00 PM, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:10 AM–12:20 PM. I’m best available for house sitting on weekends. During the weekdays, I’m available for cat clients and dogs who don’t need consistent potty breaks throughout the day. I can stay at your home once I’m finished with classes for the day. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I can also stop by for a 1–2 hour period after 9:30 AM. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. With 3 years of experience as a kennel technician, I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. I follow your instructions closely and make sure pets receive their meals, medications, exercise, and attention as requested. For house sitting, I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own and keep you updated while you’re away. I want both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident while they’re in my care.

About: I have lived on a farm my whole life. At age 12 I started managing our family farm, which ment taking care of all of our animals, from the horses to the rabbits. There are two rules I keep for myself: 1) every animal has a purpose and a name. They are not just a number (which is important to remember on a farm) 2) They are fed and cared for before anything else. It doesn't matter what's going on they are my first thought when I wake up. I take care of them before I eat. I am currently a college student and working part time for the school. My times and avalibility will change when I resume school in September. Because I live on a farm, I am blessed that my cats can safely be indoor - outdoor cats. I do have a house cat, and I have two outdoor cats. For dogs, I am used to taking dogs on walks, and letting them into secure, fensed in yards.

About: I’m an animal lover and have been taking care of dogs for 15 years, whether that was my own dog or family/friends/neighbors dogs! I like to learn the habits of each dog so I can provide the most comfortable care while their person/people are away! I have volunteered with multiple animal rescues over the last 7 years. My volunteer experience includes walking dogs that lived in a shelter, cleaning dog areas in a shelter, create social media posts for dogs up for adoption, spread pet safety awareness and dog education to the public, driving dogs from foster locations to adoption events, and handling dogs at adoption events. I have a full-time job, but can check in on your dog around midday! I’m fully available in the evenings and on weekends! I can come to your house to care for your dog so they can be comfortable! I’m happy to walk and play with your dog because they deserve that one on one time! Let me know what your dog prefers and I can make it happen!

Hope to hear from you soon and I look forward to meeting your dog!
About: I have an enormous heart for animals, big or small, outgoing or shy, sweet or standoffish. I have a 2 year old goldendoodle (Sadie) who is my bestfriend. I will always treat your pet as I would treat my own, or hope that someone else would treat her. I love sending updates of your pet throughout the day to put your mind at peace. I currently work 7-4 in Ashland Monday-Friday but I am avaible to care for pets before/after work multiple times. I have full availbilty on weekends! I will treat your pet as my own. Give them lovings/treats, allow them to warm up to me, and play with them to get their energy out. I love to send pictures to the owner to put their mind at peace.
About: Hi there! I’ve cared for all kinds of pets—dogs, cats, guinea pigs, gerbils, bunnies, fish, and even a bearded dragon! No matter the species, I love getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable and loved while their family is away. In middle and high school, I spent three summers interning at a local veterinary clinic, where I gained hands-on experience with animal care. Since then, I’ve completed courses in animal welfare and pet first aid, so you can feel confident your pets are in safe hands. At home, my dog Bonsai participates in Duke University’s Canine Cognition Center studies. Training her in tricks and agility has taught me so much about patience, positive reinforcement, and how to keep pets mentally and physically engaged. Whether it’s cuddles on the couch, playtime in the yard, or sticking to a feeding/medication routine, I’ll care for your pets like they’re my own. I’d love the chance to meet your furry family member! I have a flexible schedule and am available most weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. I do have a couple of class/work commitments during the week, but outside of those I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine. I look to provide the best standard of care I can and maintain open communication! By providing updates with each visit, pictures of your pet, and keeping records of your pets activities I hope to keep your worries at bay.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a teenager. Administration medication, brushing, playing, walking and living on them. I haven't met a dog that doesn't like me. Im currently working part time so I can fit care in the afternoons. I also live alone so I'm available to stay over at your house and care for your fur baby. I live in an apartment so it's harder to keep your pet here over night. There is a dog park and I do several walks if they are here for a short time. If it is in your home I will walk, play, feed and even let them sleep with me if that's allowed!!!

About: Hi there! I have 7 years of pet sitting experience along with taking care of my own animals throughout my life. I have the most experience with dogs, cats, and birds (though I’m no stranger to farm animals). I love being outdoors and staying active, so I’m always happy to go on walks, play outside, and keep pets engaged and comfortable. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and I always do my best to ensure that they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I work Monday-Thursday 7-5 which means that I am available before and after work and have open days Friday-Sunday. In some cases I’m able to be available during lunch time depending on the proximity of the pet to my workplace. I have a fenced in backyard and live right next to a track for plenty of running/walking time for your pet. I try to stick to the routine of the pet that I’m taking care of so that they aren’t experiencing too much change while their owner is away!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
