About: ***4.9 rating due to a client submitting 4 stars vs 5 by mistake *** My repeat clients keep me busy, but feel free to message me if you don't see dates available. 🐾 Be sure to check out my reviews and pictures of cute pups! Hey! First, I want to thank you for visiting my page! Feel free to call me Nikki! I specialize in pupcare for small breed pups(20 lbs max). Be sure to check out the pics to see some cute pups! I have 2 small breed fur babies and have a deep love for animals. Your pups will be cared for like my own. Your fur babies will be entertained, cuddled and loved during their stay! Pet care is apart of my daily routine. I work from home and we start our day around 8 am. We have at least 4 potty breaks in our personal fenced in area. It's small, but a perfect size for small breed pups! I also provide daily walks based on each owners preference. I have 2 friendly small breed pups. Sage is 9 lbs and Chico weighs 13 lbs. They love to play with new friends. If your pup is a TV watcher I also have a DOGTV subscription! My space is not huge, but I can guarantee your pups will get lots of exercise and love! My pups are apart of my family so they are allowed anywhere we are in the home. I currently care for crate trained and/or partially trained dogs. I only board small breed dogs due my apartment not being huge and I want to ensure your pup has enough space to play and be comfortable . Before accepting boarding requests I do ask that your Rover profile be updated with all necessary information to ensure safety, including updated pictures and updated weight of your pups. My max weight limit is 15 lbs. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. I am conveniently located less than a mile off of Exit 92(Ashland).

“Nicolas (Cole) was great to communicate with. He gave detailed feedback on how our dogs were doing while we were home. He took the initiative to find our cat and made sure he got attention too ! Coke’s puts his heart in his work with the pets. We will gladly request to have him return.”

About: Worked at Warrior Canine Connection as Canine Care staff, taking care of service dogs in training and new puppies! Kennel cleaning, walking, feeding, and some training and basic medical care. Saturday and Sunday I am free all day! Monday and Wednesday I am available 3-10pm. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday I am available 7-10pm. I give animals the time they need to warm up, and have an overall understanding of different body language. I am an aspiring veterinarian and believe that good animal care including exercise and nutrition (as well as some good cuddles) are key to a healthy pet.
About: Hey there!🙋♂️ I love animals and grew up always having at least 1 dog in the house🐶🐾I've volunteered for many animal rescue/ adoption organizations such as SPCA, AARF and BARK. I'm very familiar with dogs/cats of different sizes. I dont currently have any pets living with me (your furry friend can have my undivided attention❤). I've been dog walking and dog sitting for free for friends/family then someone told me I could make money doing it 🤯😅😂 I am happy to help during the evenings starting the 26th and I am free any day or time after the 4th. Looking forward to meeting you. I am very clean and tidy at my own house and would treat yours the same. Aside from your pet's more relaxed mood, you wouldn't even know I was there!
About: I grew up with a dog when I was really little. Growing up I dog sat and walked for my neighbors many times. Led me to be an all around animal lover, which is why I am an environmental studies major at VCU. Currently as college student at VCU(one class everyday Monday-Thursday), my weekends are usually open all day. I am used to waking up early but also very flexible. I like to take note of small habit and dos and don’ts to look back and be thorough in pet care. I am well versed in what dangerous for pets as I grew up with pets and have lived with both cats and dogs.
“Amanda G. went above and beyond during the nearly two weeks we were away. She was consistently communicative and shared pictures & videos. She has cared for our dog previously and we will absolutely use her in the future!”

About: Hi! I'm Meg. I've been a dog person my whole life. There's never been a time when a dog wasn't part of my family. That lifelong experience means I read dog body language well, know how to keep walks safe and fun, and genuinely love the job, not just the paycheck. I live right in historic downtown Ashland, Virginia, close to the train tracks and those lovely tree-lined streets, so I know the neighborhood well and always have a good route in mind, whether that's a leisurely stroll past the historic homes or a longer loop to really burn off some energy. I especially love high-energy pups and puppies! Whether your dog needs a good long walk to burn off some zoomies or a patient hand during those chaotic puppy months (potty breaks, leash manners, all of it), I'm your person. I'll never cut a walk short or phone it in. Your dog gets my full attention, every visit. What you can expect from me: 🐕 On-time, reliable walks and drop-ins around downtown Ashland 📸 Photo/video updates so you can see the fun 🚰 Fresh water, treats (if approved!), and lots of praise 🔒 Careful with leashes, doors, and gates, safety first ❤️ Genuine enthusiasm for your dog, not just a paycheck I treat every dog like my own. If your pup needs an extra-long walk to tire them out or a little extra patience while they learn the ropes, I'm happy to go the extra mile (literally). Looking forward to meeting your dog! 🐶 My schedule is wonderfully flexible right now, so pet care fits in easily any day of the week. I can do mornings, afternoons, or evenings, and I'm always happy to work around your dog's usual routine so nothing feels disrupted. Your home and your dog's routine are treated with total respect. I follow whatever house rules you set, whether that's where the leash lives, how the door locks work, or feeding schedules. I always double check gates and doors before heading out, and I move at your dog's pace, not mine.

About: I have taken care of dogs my entire life and have experience with dog walking, bathing, and dog park trips and just love to be around dogs! I am not currently working so I have plenty of time to walk and take care of your dogs! Weekdays and weekends are available and I’m happy to work around your schedule. I have a fenced in yard and a friendly dog who loves to play. I also have a large crate if you would prefer they be separated.
“Jenna was a life saver. We have two sweet 14 year old Australian shepherds who are a little wobbly and don’t see as well as they used to. I was afraid to leave them but Jenna was amazing!! Got tons of pics and updates. It was such a relief. Jenna is a true dog lover and really took care of our guys like they were her own. She spent tons of time with them. I’ll definitely use her again and pass her info along to friends.”

About: I grew up with both dogs and cats in our household. I have experience walking neighborhood dogs and boarding family pets as well. This includes walking, giving medications, bathing (for dogs), providing food and water and of course play time. I also volunteer with local rescues to care for both cats and dogs. One of the many benefits that volunteering has provided is the ability to gain further knowledge about safely caring for both cats and dogs. This includes navigating behavioral changes and safely handling dogs. I currently work from home part time, this gives me lots of time to care for animals! I will be available Monday - Friday and can accommodate up to 3 visits per day. We currently have 3 tabby mixes at home, adopting them was the best decision I could have made! On a daily basis I provide oral medications, fresh water, food, treats and litter box cleanings. I also ensure their spaces are clean by sweeping up a litter or messes they may have made throughout the day/night. Play time is also a very important part of our day, keeping the cats enriched and happy is my goal!

“We had a great experience with Marina! She is reliable, caring, and wonderful with our dog. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in good hands while we work such long hours. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker!”

About: I currently work full time at a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant so I have medical training if something were to go wrong which I hope it doesn’t. I currently have 2 dogs and three cats. I have trained puppies before and I know how much extra care senior pets need since all of mine are seniors. Since I work full time I can do daily walks and potty breaks between 2 and 3pm Monday thru Friday and weekends I’m available anytime. In my home it will be strictly leash walks because the yard is not fenced. In your home it will be the same unless your yard is fenced.
About: I've grown up with pets and was practically raised with my parent's first child, our dog Rascal. I adopt senior and special needs dogs and love giving them a safe haven in their later years. I love to walk my own dog, Wilbur and would treat your pet like my own. I'm currently available on weekends and work from home on Friday so I have the flexiblity to provide daytime potty breaks if needed. I have reliable transportation and am eager to provide care for your fur babies. I have a fenced in yard, and a dog and cat who would welcome meeting new friends. I also have room to create your pet if needed.
About: My family owned dogs when I was growing up which started my love for dogs. I have owned my own dogs since I graduated college with my first and oldest dog Zeus being 11 years old currently and since then have added 2 more dogs to the family (Tasha and Enzo). Dogs to me are a part of life, they are my children and I take my ownership seriously. They bring my household so much joy and it’s only right to give the same back to them. They all get dedicated time each day and all the care they need. I work a very flexible full-time job as a personal trainer. I work a mainly hourly schedule, so I know when I’m free and not. Always free on the weekends and flexible at all other times of day. I am in and out of the house all day and can be as flexible as needed. My wife and I own a house with a fenced in back yard. We love taking our 3 dogs on walks daily and love walking other dogs. We have a very pet friendly home; our home is their home. We allow our dogs on furniture and our bed but are comfortable with whatever each dog is allowed. We have experience boarding friends and families' dogs over the years.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats ever since I was 10 years old and probably younger! I was always fascinated by animals and wanted to help my parents in anyway with our pets. I helped train all our dogs and trained my own dog all my own since she was a puppy. I’ve dealt with all the puppy stage antics to all the grumpy senior dogs! I’ve had cats for as long as I can remember and rescued my own cat a year ago. I know all about the troublesome kitten phases to the aloof senior kitties. I’ve had my own experience in giving medications to all ages of dogs and cats. I am also in school to be a licensed veterinary technician so I have some skills in that field as well. I’ve also owned all kinds of other animals from turtles, hamsters, Guinea pigs and mice to fish and rabbits and reptiles as well. I really just love all animals and would treat your pets as my own! I currently only work on the weekends so I have plenty of time to visit and walk pups of all kinds or go play and check on kitties or other animals all throughout the week! I do online classes so I have no problem bringing my laptop with me to stay and take care of your pets! Since I work on weekends usually long days I can do house sitting but I would have to leave very early Saturday mornings. As for Sundays I can start housesitting most Sunday evenings depending on my schedule! My pets in my home are very spoiled and loved. I have a 3 year old cat and at home with my parents are my 2 family dogs who I helped raise and 2 turtles! In a clients home I would treat your pets as if they are my own and make sure they are comfortable and well taken care of! I would make sure they are safe and stay in the home so no pet gets loose!
“Victoria has been our regular petsitter while we work. Our Cavalier, Louie, loves her! She is great with our dog, and has excellent communication with me. Victoria is always flexible if changes in our weekly schedule occur. She always informs me if something comes up and we need to adjust the days she pet-sits Louie. Victoria has such a special way with animals. I highly recommend her.”

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
