“Jiselle was wonderful! We have two big crazy pups that can be a lot and she was great with them. She was on time and sent daily updates with pictures of what they did that day. It was such a relief to know our dogs were being well taken care of while we were away. We will definitely reach out to Jiselle in the future!”

“Jennifer and Jason were amazing! They were the perfect duo. Our boxer/pitt mix can be intimidating to some people but they came and instantly made our girl feel safe. I will absolutely book with them again. They were also incredibly friendly and kept us updated on her. I would recommend them to anyone!”

“Alyssa did a great job watching our pup while we were out of town for a few days. She sent us pictures everyday. She checked up on our pup as agreed, we’ll definitely ask her to watch our Little Lailah in the future.”

“Shannon was amazing! She took great care for our two dogs, and sent pictures daily of them playing and hanging out. She went out of her way to get them a stuffed pumpkin when they tore up their other stuffed animal. I totally recommend her and completely trust her.”

“Payton is 100% the best dog sitter we have ever had. I recommend her to everyone! I have 2 dogs with very different needs/lifestyles and Payton took excellent care of them. Thank you Payton!!”
“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Isabelle. Having someone stay in our home can feel like a big leap of trust, but she made the entire process completely stress-free. She kept us updated with messages, photos, and little notes about how the dogs were doing, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away for a week. It was obvious our dogs were not only well cared for, but happy and comfortable in their routine. When we returned home, everything was spotless, and the dogs were relaxed and content, it felt like we had never left. If you’re looking for someone reliable, respectful, and compassionate to care for your pets, I recommend her. We will absolutely be booking again!”

About: I've loved dogs my entire life! In my 20s, my family members, friends and colleagues all knew me to be their "go-to" dog sitter. I looked forward to every opportunity I had to love on someone's fur baby! Due to my living situation at the time, I was not able to have a dog of my own. My heart baby, a Pomeranian named Myles, passed in May 2026. He was 15.5 years old, and my spoiled only child. I look forward to the opportunity to care for your beloved fur child as if he/she were my own. For drop ins and overnight house sitting, I am able to sit for dogs over 25 pounds as long as they can be let out in a fenced backyard and does not require walks. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you, and meeting your fur child! My schedule is fairly flexible, with the exception of being unavailable on Sundays. Regarding "drop-ins", if you need someone to "sit" with your fur baby for a longer period of time in your home, I am available for that as well. My fur baby, Myles, had separation anxiety, so we would have someone "sit" with him if we're away from home for more than 4+ hrs at a time. Feel free to reach out to me. I will be sure to care for your fur baby as if he/she is one of my own. Please let me know what his/her individual likes or dislikes are, etc.

“Abby did an amazing job! She is prompt with her responses and is an excellent communicator. She kept us updated with our dogs and our home and even helped troubleshoot our AC after a brief power outage. She was patient and understanding through it all! She took excellent care of our home and left it cleaner than we left it haha. I would highly recommend her and will be using her again!”

“Mark is a fantastic sitter and the babies were very happy with him. He is very respectful of our home and was happy to accommodate all of our needs. He also communicated really well throughout the stay with photos and videos and everything looked even better than when he first arrived. We will definitely be booking him again!”

About: I have had dogs since I was 5 years old. As soon as I graduated from high school I went into the dog field at a dog daycare worked there for about 2 years with a year of that being shift lead. Then I went in to a vet clinic and worked there about a year feeding borders, administering medicine and walking them. I am currently working part-time on weekends. But am free Monday-Friday any time. So I'll have plenty of time to walk and care for your fur babys. I would prefer if we could do a meet and greet before I begin walking and/or caring for your baby this will help keep stress levels low.

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my lifelong love for animals, my hands-on experience, and my ability to care for pets of all sizes, breeds, personalities, and temperaments! 🐾❤️ I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and have always had a special place in my heart for both cats and dogs. Since I was 14, I’ve gained experience with pet sitting, dog walking, and working at doggy daycare facilities. During my time at doggy daycares, I’ve cared for everything from large Great Danes and energetic Pit Bull mixes to tiny pups with big personalities! These experiences have taught me how to understand different behaviors, recognize body language, and provide safe, attentive care. I’m also very comfortable caring for multiple animals at once! Whether you have several dogs, multiple cats, or a household with both, I’m happy to help. My doggy daycare experience has taught me how to manage different personalities, energy levels, and routines while making sure every animal receives the individual attention, patience, and love they deserve. I also have a special love for cats, especially those who may be shy, fearful, independent, or a little temperamental! Growing up, I’ve helped feral cats gradually become comfortable living indoors as loving house cats. Through those experiences, I’ve learned that earning an animal’s trust takes time, consistency, kindness, and patience. If your kitty is a little feisty, nervous around strangers, or prefers their personal space, that’s perfectly okay! I understand how to recognize signs of stress, respect boundaries, and allow them to become comfortable with me at their own pace. The same goes for dogs who may be anxious, energetic, or need a little extra reassurance. I believe what truly makes me different is that I don’t expect every animal to behave the same way. Every pet has their own personality, comfort level, and needs, and I take the time to understand what makes them feel safe and happy. I’m experienced with feeding, dog walking, playtime, litter box cleaning and maintenance, maintaining routines, and providing companionship. I also offer house-sitting services, so your pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment while I make sure your home is respected, tidy, and well cared for. Above all, I’m reliable, dependable, patient, and genuinely passionate about animals. Whether you have one cuddly kitty, a house full of energetic pups, or a mix of furry personalities, I’ll do my very best to make sure everyone feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Your pets are family, and I promise to treat them with the same kindness, patience, and love that I give my own! 🐶🐱💕 I’m currently attending school online, which gives me flexibility with my schedule and allows me to accommodate different pet care needs! I’m always happy to discuss availability and find a schedule that works best for you and your furry family members! 💖 When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their familiar environment! I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and individual needs, so I always do my best to follow their usual schedule, whether that includes feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, potty breaks, or plenty of cuddles! I’m also very respectful of my clients’ homes and will make sure everything stays clean, tidy, and well cared for while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your beloved pets and your home. Communication is extremely important to me! I’ll happily provide regular updates, pictures, and messages throughout my visits so you can see how your furry family members are doing. Whether they’re enjoying a walk, playing with their favorite toys, or relaxing at home, I want you to feel reassured knowing they’re happy and receiving plenty of love and attention. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible, knowing your pets and home are in caring, reliable, and dependable hands! 🐶🐱❤️

About: I have two dogs who currently stay with my mom. I have a german shepherd rottweiler mix named Minnie Mouse (Minnie) who will be 3 in August and a rottweiler named Pooh Bear (Bear) who will be 1 in September. They’re both so sweet and adorable. They’re very gentle, loving, cry babies. I’ve taught Minnie a few tricks like sit, paw, lay down, go to your crate, stay, and to sit before she eats. Bear is in the process of learning, but he gives my mom a hard time and it’s hilarious. I love them both with all of my heart! I’m a full time biology student. I start classes in August so my mornings are open as of right now. I have a part time job during the night, i’m available mornings until I start classes in August. I’d rather care for a pet at the clients home due to my dad being allergic to pet dander, but if I get my own place I’d love to have them over no matter the service!
“Elizabeth was so thoughtful and considerate while watching over my Finley! She took her on walks, to coffeee shops, and sent lots of photos! Finley was in great hands.”

“Erin did fantastic with my dog. She unexpectedly got sick and Erin cared for her like her own to make sure she got better and was comfortable. I came home to a happy pup after a week away.”

“Leah is absolutely amazing!! She is so kind and very thoughtful. She took such great care of our pets and our house while we were gone. 100% plan on rebooking with her for our next trip!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gibson Acres
Shannon was a phenomenal person to house sit for our dogs. She went over and above our expectations. Our dogs took to her immediately and I think she really spoiled them. I highly recommend her services to anyone wanting a caring, loving person to care for your house and pets
This was our first time leaving our two older dogs (one having no eyes) in the care of someone else, we were anxious having someone stay in our home but Mariah absolutely exceeded our expectations. We were given daily updates and pictures, she went above and beyond to make sure the dogs ate their meals (if you have a picky eater you know) and left our home cleaner than when she arrived. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing our fur babies were well cared for.

I am very pleased with Jennifer and Jason’s care of my senior dog. It was immediately evident that Jason has experience with dogs as well as a good understanding of the needs of our senior dog. I felt very comfortable knowing that he was with her while we were out of town. If you’re lucky enough to book them, you’ll be so glad that you did.
Mara is an outstanding pet sitter. She went above and beyond to take great care of our two dogs and two cats during our week away. She also did a great job managing our house during the overnight pet/house sitting while we were gone. We appreciated all of the regular updates she gave us about our pets and photos she sent. We would love to have Mara back!

Great with my dogs, cats, and lizards!! Yes, lizards! Alicia sent photos and videos every day several times a day while we took our kids to Chicago for the long weekend. We booked house sitting, and boy, she really did house sit! She even vacuumed, did dishes, and took out the trash for us. Really appreciate her and WILL be booking again.

Tori is such a thorough and thoughtful sitter. She recently completed her 3rd stay with my pets at my home(including overnights) & has been more meticulous every stay. My pets were happy and healthy upon my return and I look forward to using her services again. Thanks, Tori!

Faith is our go-to house sitter when we have a long vacation and want our babies to be well loved and cared for. She sends pics and updates daily, and leaves the house in great shape. She is communicative and personable, and we know our pets are in safe hands with her!

Mikayla was wonderful! She took excellent care of my pets and kept me updated with quick messages and photos, so I always knew they were doing well. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and truly went above and beyond. I would absolutely book with her again in a heartbeat.

Terry did a fantastic job caring for our two large dogs while we were away. He was dependable, friendly, professional, and clearly cared about our pets’ well-being. We felt completely comfortable knowing they were in good hands. Communication was great, and everything was handled exactly as promised. We highly recommend Terry to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable pet sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gibson Acres walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gibson Acres maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gibson Acres choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
