“We couldn’t be happier with the care of our dog and cat received while we were away. Serenidy went above and beyond, showering them with love and attention. Not only did they feel comfortable and loved, but our home was also in great hands!”

“Tori is amazing! She showed up last minute for my fur baby in a time of desperate need. She made sure my Teddy was feeling ok with love and plenty of pets and cuddles. Can’t wait to book with her soon💕”

“Nora was fantastic with our Great Dane puppy, Apollo! She was very responsive, kept us up to date every day, and had no issues administering Apollo's pills 2x/day. She also left the house just as we left it and washed the sheets before she left. This was mine and my husband's first weekend away in a long time where we didn't feel stressed leaving our dog with a sitter. We would definitely recommend Nora to anyone looking for a stress free getaway and plan to use her services again!”

About: In addition to common dog owner knowledge I am also equipped with exceptional K-9 to human communication skills that will help me make nervous, unsettled, shy, or anxious pets adjust to their temporary lodging. I acquired these skills during 10 years of K-9 protection handling and training education and practice along with 15 years of bodywork with a concentration in myofascial release. I can take pets on short notice for as long as necessary. Your dog(s) will not interact with other dogs while in my care, unless previously discussed. The interior of my 2500 sf home has the space and configuration to allow up to 4 dogs to be separated into their own "living" spaces. Having two of may own, I will only take two dogs as a time. I will provide exceptional care and 24/7 attention. Why I love dog sitting My entire life, personal and professional, has been with dogs afoot. I enjoy discovering their individual personalities. Meet my pets I have two Pomeranians. About my yard Fenced, however I prefer to hand walk client's pets. I am a jogger so if your pet is used to jogging each day for exercise we can make that happen. My experience administering medication I am happy to administer any necessary medications and supplements. I have been doing so for as long as I can remember, IV, IM, topical, and oral. I build my schedule around clients needs. Mine eat at 8 AM and 6 pm and get outside for fresh air and a bio bark every 4-5 hours. In a client's home, I leave absolutely no trace I have ben there. Extreme attention to detail, respect for your environment, and I follow instructions with precision. In my home, I follow the schedule I am given and keep a low and slow approach, giving them space, time, and calm/quiet emotional support to adjust. In both environments you will receive videos, pics, and updates multiple times per day.
“Faith was amazing with our golden! She sent regular updates and pictures which we loved. Our puppy can be hyper at times but she was so calm and loving with our boy. Will definitely be calling her again. 11/10 recommend 😊”

About: I have always loved dogs and I have decided that I want to be around dogs in my free time because it makes me happy! I am a soon to be retired school teacher and want to spend my time now with animals especially dogs! For the next 10 months I will be still working my teacher schedule and would like to get a head start on my next venture. I would be available for dog sitting on weekends and dog walks after 3pm during the work week and anytime over weekends. I have always had a dog growing up and very lovingly cared for my own dogs for the last 31 years. I enjoy being around all dogs. When I retire I would also like to volunteer somewhere for dogs. Again, for the next 10 months, I will still be working my teacher schedule and I will be available during the work week after 3 PM for dog walks or drop ins and during the weekend for overnights. I also would be available for some of my school breaks. I have a fenced in backyard and one dog named Lina. She is medium sized and very friendly with other dogs. I would love to love on your fur baby.

“Absolutely hands down the best care we could have asked for. The pups were treated like their own by Mai and Jonathan. Daily updates and photos of the dogs were sent. And they cleaned the house before they left. Which was absolutely not necessary but much appreciated. Highly recommend them, and will definitely use them in the future.”

“Margaret did a great job taking care of my dogs and house while we were out of town. I have 4 dogs and one is a senior that requires special attention. They all were happy and healthy when we got home.”

“There’s not enough words to describe how amazing Jake is! From the very beginning, up until the end of his stay, his communication was off the charts and he sent so many amazing photos. He truly cared so well for our kiddos in a way that made us feel so at peace going into our wedding weekend. BOOK JAKE ASAP!!! He’s your guy!!!”

About: I've taken care of my own pets my whole life, and others' for 8 years now. I created Jackson Pet Care to provide pets with the comfort they need and deserve when their owners are away. I know personally how scary it can be leaving your pets alone, and how heartbreaking it can be to see a pet missing their owner, so I take the honor and responsibility of caring for someone's fur baby to heart. I have experience with cats and dogs, old and young, and would love to use my experience to create a loving environment for your pet. See Jackson Pet Care on Google for reviews from my awesome customers! I am a student (graduating soon!!), so I use the gaps in my schedule to make sure your pets are well loved on and taken care of. I look after an owner's home like it's my own. I’d want to return to a clean, cared-for house and make sure you do the same! I ensure the home environment I am in remains a safe space for the pet and keep them in their regular routine to build trust and comfort.
“Great care staying with our dogs. He kept us informed and even repaired a freeze handle I had neglected to fix before we left home. I will definitely use Mark in the future to take care of our pups.”

About: I’ve been taking care and loving dogs for the past 12 years and I am now 23. I am super responsible and will take care of your dog(s)/cat(s) with my best responsibility. I’ve had dogs of my own for through the years .This will be another way to connect and share my love for animals by being able to take care of not only my dogs, but animals in the community as well.My older sister is a veterinarian so she tends to teach me different ways to learn about animals and their different needs.I decided to part take in dog sitting for the simple fact that I really enjoy it.This job will be extremely beneficial to me due to the fact that I’m starting college soon and this will help save up for things I need to start school. I’m hoping that’ll be a good candidate to take care or your animals. I am currently not currently working,so my schedule is pretty open and free to discuss any bookings that will fit in between your needs for your pet. I have a fenced in yard as well as three small dogs that have been practically raised to be siblings. they are sometimes hyper but extremely friendly.
About: I have house sat for many family members, neighbors, and acquaintance’s pets for two years. Before that I walked a few dogs in my neighborhood. This is currently my only form of work. I am almost always free unless there are other bookings lined up. I have form of transportation to get to your pets easily. I take staying in another’s person’s house very seriously. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Etowah Mills
Faith is our go-to house sitter when we have a long vacation and want our babies to be well loved and cared for. She sends pics and updates daily, and leaves the house in great shape. She is communicative and personable, and we know our pets are in safe hands with her!

Faith stayed with our animals for a whole week while we were away. While they don’t have a lot of special care needs, they are pretty anxious babies. Having Faith in our home and sending us regular updates made us feel better and we knew they were in good hands. She communicated regularly and asked questions when needed. We came home to happy healthy animals and a clean house! I’d recommend Faith to anyone for pet care :)

Markia was an excellent dog sitter! She provided lots of photos and updates, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. Her communication was great from start to finish, and she was very friendly and easy to work with. Most importantly, my dog was happy and well cared for. I would definitely rebook with her!

FAQs for House Sitting - Etowah Mills
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 3,767 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Etowah Mills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Etowah Mills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Etowah Mills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Etowah Mills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
