“Lisa did an absolutely amazing job watching our fur babies while we were out of town on a trip. She was helpful, communicative, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We came home to very happy babies, and a few special treats she left as well. So thoughtful! She even took trash out and put dishes away. Definitely went above and beyond our expectations. Looking forward to having her house sit again for us and would absolutely recommend. Thanks Lisa!”

“Taylor was fantastic!! We were traveling to Illinois and had our young dogs and older girl with us. The two younger ones had never been boarded yet and would not have done well left in our travel trailer for an entire day while we did touristy stuff. I booked Taylor to come to our RV park and stay with the dogs in our travel trailer. It was such a relief to not have to worry about them while we were out or cut our day short to get back to them. She sent pics of them all on walks, or hanging out in the patio and kept me updated how they were doing throughout the day. She was very responsive the entire process from before booking all the way to the end. If you need someone to watch your pets, don’t hesitate to call Taylor!”

Due to this, I am fully comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I look forward to giving your pet the loving care they deserve while you are away! I am currently applying to veterinary school and home for summer, so my schedule is pretty open! I am very flexible with my hours and willing to help out in way that I can! I am very comfortable with pets of all sizes. With 3 dogs of my own, I can easily crate, walk, and care for your pet!
“Olivia was a great overnight caregiver to Einstein while we were out of town for a weekend. She communicated well via text and provided daily photos. She was very respectful of the instructions that were provided and asked a couple of questions to validate. Einstein said he’d like her to stay over again soon, which I have already let her know potential dates.”

About: Paws & Pals; Pet B&B and In-Home Care is a collaboration of the mother-daughter team, Nancy Grandinetti and her daughter, Jessica Boyd. With a shared, and boundless passion for animal welfare, and 50+ years of animal experience (between the two of us), you can be sure that you are leaving your fur-mily in the best possible hands! Nancy (51yo) began her long history in pet care at age 13, working in her uncle’s veterinary practice. During her time at Glendale Animal Hospital [Glen Ellyn, IL], she volunteered for EVERYTHING, from grooming to medication administration. This was followed shortly by her first “real” job at Save-A-Pet. Thus, began her long history of both jobs and volunteerism in the animal care community. Currently, even though her career has currently led her to sales, Nancy is a registered foster home for CPR Fund Canine Rescue [www.cprfund,com], specializing in difficult to rehabilitate dogs. Due to her work-from-home schedule, Nancy is primarily available for in-home boarding. She’s specifically set up for doggos that prefer to be alone. Jessica (34yo), instilled with her mother’s enthusiasm for animal care, has expanded that passion into equine and farm care. She has worked with a myriad of animals, including wild and exotic species. Presently, she has found her home as a part-time senior barn assistant at Main Stay Therapeutic Riding Farm [www.mainstayfarm,org]. As a homeschooling mother of three, Jessica’s primary services include dog walking, drop-in home visits, and pack-friendly boarding. She specializes in “hard-to-walk” and large-xlarge breeds of ALL ages. So, what services do we offer? Well, here’s a quick list. Don’t see something you need? Message us! About: Hey, So a little about me: I’m a veterinary technician that is currently accepting new clients. I have been around horses my whole life as well as other farm & exotic animals. References provided upon request. Clean Background check, non smoker, clean person. Ok with training and medication & special need animals. I’m ok with working with special needs such as diabetes (familiar with insulin and how to properly administer it in cats and dogs), urinary and kidney care that require extra love and time. Please message me with any questions... Prices will depend on number of animals and time spent doing chores/house Work etc... I personally own a Doberman named Diesel who is the sweetest thing, I’m able to drop her off at my parents when I’m needed for in home house sitting over night in your home. Well mannered dogs are welcome in my home as well for boarding and doggie daycare with my boy Diesel. I am currently working as a veterinary technician on Thursdays. I can usually give plenty of breaks if needed the rest of the week as I am off. Safety is my main priority when watching your pet in your home. I look forward to giving your pet the best experience possible when you are away, which may include walking on a leash, letting them out in a fenced in yard or dropping off for play time at day care.
“Ewa is such a great sitter. She just loves dogs (cats too but I only have a dog). It might be hard to trust someone new to come into your house when you're not home to take care of your fur baby, but Ewa gives me such a good feeling, I don't worry at all about the house or my Maizy.”

“We had Brandi watch our two Maine Coon cats while we were in California. These cats are my babies and so I left Brandi 3 pages of instructions on feeding etc. Brandi sent photos of my babies while we were gone and slept at our house. My cats were extremely well cared for in her care. We will definitely use Brandi when we have another trip.”

About: I've owned many animals over my life, cats, dogs, horses, chickens, lizards. I've taken my dogs to animal chiropractors, trained my horse and distributed meds accordingly to my senior animals. I've also pet sit for my older siblings on many occasions. I understand that the needs of every animal is different and needs to be attended to. I am currently trying to apprentice in a very competitive field and pet sitting is my in between job while I look for better positions. I live on a small farm, before my dogs passed I walked them twice a day, I have bout toys and boxes to entertain my cats, handled my lizard with care and an appropriately sized tank, and trained my horse slowly and it has really kept him healthy in his old age. Animals in my care will receive the attention, exercise and safety they need. I have a very open schedule as I am not yet employed but have applied at pharmacies. I also work a couple shifts at the Cold Stone and get to bring home ice cream oftentimes. I feed them and change their water every everyday, play with them, search for enriching toys for them to play with. With. Sometimes I put on TV for them and my girl cat likes when I rock her.
“Carrie was absolutely fantastic. She watched our 3 pups & stayed at our home while we were gone. Our girls were spoiled and well taken care of and she left our home in great shape. I would 100% recommend Carrie to anyone looking for a great sitter for your fur babies”

“Michelle was polite, courteous and professional. Overall, she did the best she could with my youngest rescue being timid to the point of going inside the house for the three days I was travelling. Not her fault and I would like to continue for future trips in hopes of her acclimating to my shy, timid boy.”

About: I foster dogs for a rescue so I have plenty of experience with caring for and watching dogs. I even have tons of experience with puppies. I’m a teacher so I have summers off and am home during the day and the night during summers! Take advantage of my schedule and allow me to help you keep your furbabies happy! I have experience with crate training and other training as well and I’d be happy to follow any training procedures that you have set up in your household for your animals as long as you let me know! I have 3 dogs of my own so your animals must get along with other animals, I can keep them separate from my animals but it would be easier if I didn’t have to do that!
About: Hi! I’m Erika, a lifelong animal lover who grew up on a Nebraska farm surrounded by animals of all kinds. I took a break from Rover while caring for my senior dog through the final stage of her life, but this work-from-home nonprofit leader is excited to open here home to dogs again. I have experience with all kinds of pets, but I especially shine with dogs (and pet parents) who need a little extra attention. That might mean managing separation anxiety, giving medications to a stubborn pup, caring for seniors, or helping energetic dogs burn off their zoomies on long “sniffaris.” And if you’re the kind of pet parent who likes updates, you’re in good company; I was that dog mom too. I love sharing frequent photos and updates so you can relax knowing exactly how your pup is doing. A few things about my home and care style: • My fiancé and I both work from home, so dogs are rarely (if ever!) left alone • Comfortable environment for small and medium dogs; larger dogs are welcome, but tend to do best here if they’re older or more mellow • Experienced with medications, senior care, special routines, picky eaters, and separation anxiety • Lots of snuggles, walks, and very personalized attention. I’m highly attuned to each dog’s needs! Professionally, I lead fundraising at a national nonprofit organization (from home!), and I bring that same level of responsibility to caring for your pet. My goal is simple: help your dog feel safe, loved, and completely at home while you’re away (and keep you at ease while you’re apart). I have a wonderful full-time career in the non-profit sector at a lung cancer research foundation, which allows me to work remotely. This affords me time and flexibility to show up and care for your pet (and home) with the level of love and attention you desire. No day is typical because every pet and pet parent is unique. I adapt to keep your pet’s schedule consistent while you are away! What I commit to in my work as a Rover Sitter: 1.) NEEDS MET: Your and your pets' needs are 100% met; instructions followed perfectly 2.) COMMUNICATION: Daily photos and check-ins—more if you would like 3.) MY TIME & CARE: Lots and lots of time spent with your pet, especially if they have extra needs or separation anxiety 4.) SAFETY & RESPECT: To leave your home as nice or better than I found it and to keep your pet healthy, happy, and safe 5.) PEACE OF MIND: Doing what it takes to keep your mind at ease regarding both your pet and your home while you are away 6.) TRUST: If desired, I will happily meet with you in advance to ensure we can establish trust and expectations together

FAQs for House Sitting - Garden Prairie
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 733 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Garden Prairie. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Garden Prairie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Garden Prairie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Garden Prairie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Garden Prairie. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
