Taylor was fantastic!! We were traveling to Illinois and had our young dogs and older girl with us. The two younger ones had never been boarded yet and would not have done well left in our travel trailer for an entire day while we did touristy stuff. I booked Taylor to come to our RV park and stay with the dogs in our travel trailer. It was such a relief to not have to worry about them while we were out or cut our day short to get back to them. She sent pics of them all on walks, or hanging out in the patio and kept me updated how they were doing throughout the day. She was very responsive the entire process from before booking all the way to the end. If you need someone to watch your pets, don’t hesitate to call Taylor!

Lisa was responsible, loving and knowledgeable when caring for our boys, Sunny and Louie. This was our first time away from the boys. We were able to really relax and enjoy ourselves knowing they were in good hands with Lisa. They loved her and can't wait for her to come back. When we travel again, Lisa will be our go-to dog sitter. Thank you, Lisa!

She always communicated throughout the day to let me know how they were doing & even sent photos. I would highly recommend her and I look forward to using her again for our next trip.

About: Paws & Pals; Pet B&B and In-Home Care is a collaboration of the mother-daughter team, Nancy Grandinetti and her daughter, Jessica Boyd. With a shared, and boundless passion for animal welfare, and 50+ years of animal experience (between the two of us), you can be sure that you are leaving your fur-mily in the best possible hands! Nancy (51yo) began her long history in pet care at age 13, working in her uncle’s veterinary practice. During her time at Glendale Animal Hospital [Glen Ellyn, IL], she volunteered for EVERYTHING, from grooming to medication administration. This was followed shortly by her first “real” job at Save-A-Pet. Thus, began her long history of both jobs and volunteerism in the animal care community. Currently, even though her career has currently led her to sales, Nancy is a registered foster home for CPR Fund Canine Rescue [www.cprfund,com], specializing in difficult to rehabilitate dogs. Due to her work-from-home schedule, Nancy is primarily available for in-home boarding. She’s specifically set up for doggos that prefer to be alone. Jessica (34yo), instilled with her mother’s enthusiasm for animal care, has expanded that passion into equine and farm care. She has worked with a myriad of animals, including wild and exotic species. Presently, she has found her home as a part-time senior barn assistant at Main Stay Therapeutic Riding Farm [www.mainstayfarm,org]. As a homeschooling mother of three, Jessica’s primary services include dog walking, drop-in home visits, and pack-friendly boarding. She specializes in “hard-to-walk” and large-xlarge breeds of ALL ages. So, what services do we offer? Well, here’s a quick list. Don’t see something you need? Message us! We may just not have thought of it yet! We’re POSITIVE we can help you out! +Dog Boarding: Let your fur baby(ies) get the true farm experience at one of our two homes, located on our very, private 5-acre, farmette. Our pet “B&B” package includes regular pasture walks, they will experience horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese (from a safe distance), puppy playtime (if they enjoy it), scheduled mealtimes, regular cuddles, and LOTS of daily pictures, for you and your family to enjoy, while you’re away. Bed sleeper(s)? No problem! Climb aboard little doggy! Kennel trained? No need to bring your own, because we have one of every size! Just bring their favorite travel bed/blanket! Extended stays available upon request. +In-Home Visits (Dog/Cat/Birds/Cage or Tank Dwellers): Don’t want or can’t have your pets leaving home, while you’re away? Need an afternoon check-in and quick potty break? Late night at work or out on the town? We’ve got you covered! Schedule a 30-minute visit today! 60-minute visits available upon request. +Dog Walking: Need a potty break mid-day? Schedule your 30-minute walk today! An active, fast-paced walk to help burn a little energy. You will also receive a map and timer readout, so you know where your pup’s adventures have taken them! Is your dog a bit of a rude or pushy/pully walker? Are they an XL horse dog that drags people down the road? No worries! We specialize in energetic and XL (sometimes both at once) breeds! 60-minute walks available upon request. +Transportation: Groomer appointment? Vet visit, and you can only get a mid-day spot? Moving and the car is packed full? Let us provide safe, dependable transportation for you! Message us for transportation rates! So, if you’re looking for a team of mature, reliable animal lovers, to care for your fur/feather/scale/water babies, look no further! You’ve found the right profile! We look forward to meeting you and your pet(s) soon! And, THANK YOU for choosing us to make your pets happy, their smiles are ours! 😊

Abigail was an amazing dog sitter for our little rescue dog. He can be a tricky one with lots of separation anxiety, but Abigail was such a great support and comfort to him. She was very communicative and tried everything she could to make sure he was happy and healthy. She went above and beyond and we are so thankful to have had her as our sitter!

Olivia was a great overnight caregiver to Einstein while we were out of town for a weekend. She communicated well via text and provided daily photos. She was very respectful of the instructions that were provided and asked a couple of questions to validate. Einstein said he’d like her to stay over again soon, which I have already let her know potential dates.

About: I've loved dogs my whole life and have owned three of my own, giving me firsthand experience with their daily care, exercise, and companionship. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've looked after dogs and cats for family members, friends, and neighbors. I also have cared for two mini doodles for several weeks over the past few summers, along with the families pet lizard and guinea pig. Additionally, I regularly volunteer at a local animal shelter, where I walk and play with dogs of all sizes and help feed and socialize cats. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and am committed to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I am currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time to check in on your pets throughout the day! I can also take your dogs out for walks, multiple times a day if needed. I will follow instructions you leave to make sure I am giving your pets everything they need. I have no problem taking dogs to dog parks or for long walks depending on their needs.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life. I had my childhood dog, as well as caring for numerous family members animals. I‘ve done everything from popping over to watch cats and refill their food to overnight stays to care for animals. I currently work full time, but I can always work things into my schedule as that is the only other thing in my life currently! I love when owners leave me notes regarding their pets care and little trick and habits that will help the pets feel more comfortable. I ensure safety and care to any pets I sit or walk.

This is our second time having Gail watch Duke - she’s attentive, responsive and all the things you want with someone watching your fur baby! She goes the extra mile not only as a dog sitter but in your house, too. The house was spotless and not a thing out of place. We can’t wait to have Gail watch Duke again!

Taylor was great, we have 3 dogs, two of which have medical issues. Taylor had to give one dog pills and another got shots twice a day. She handled them all with no issues. With 3 dogs you can almost trip over the dog tumbleweeds, no matter how much you vacuum. there were no tumbleweeds when we got home! Highly recommend Taylor.

FAQs for House Sitting - Union

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Union on Rover is $48.29 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,365 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Union. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Union walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Union maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Union choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Union. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
