“Kaitlin was the perfect sitter for our cat! She was communicative, punctual, and provided updates and pictures regularly. Our cat is very shy and by the end of the trip it was clear he enjoyed her company and trusted her. We loved having Kaitlin take care of our cat, and we’d definitely use her again.”

“I definitely recommend Ashleigh as your next pet sitter! She went above and beyond and made sure our cats were well taken care of! We were surprised that our shy little guy came out and played with her while we were away. She’s awesome!”

“Michael went above and beyond with our dog and cat. He was very quick to respond and did a perfect job following our instructions for feeding times, medications, and outside breaks. We will definitely use Michael’s services again in the future.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends, family, and neighbors for several years. I’m comfortable feeding, walking, playing, cleaning litter boxes, giving lots of attention, and making pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m reliable, patient, and truly love animals of all personalities and sizes. I’m back home from college for the summer, so I have a flexible/ open schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m also looking to make some extra money doing something I genuinely enjoy, which is spending time and caring for animals! I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs, including feeding, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I always prioritize making pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable in their own environment. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special care requests. I’m very attentive to pets’ behavior and needs, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.
“It means a lot to me that Kyle and his wife were able to bond with my cats Scout and Moose so well. When I returned home after a 6 day trip my house was so clean and tidy and I really appreciated that. Scout and Moose were happy and healthy and that’s the most important . It shows that Kyle spent quality time. Kyle communicated regularly and sent the most excellent photos daily. I will certainly be in touch for future visits . 5 star”

“Rachael was amazing with our cats. Lady is totally bonded with her, and she was incredibly patient and respectful of our shy cat, Ghost, who prefers to stay hidden. Rachael gave thoughtful, funny, and detailed updates that truly reassured us that our pets were happy and well cared for. She also took great care of our home, kept everything clean, and even handled things like kitty trash without us having to ask. It’s obvious she genuinely cares about the animals she watches. We absolutely trust her with our pets and highly recommend her.”

However, I’m flexible and open most days, so feel free to reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs. I’m happy to come to your home! About: I’ve cared for dogs since age 10 and pet sat for family and friends, including feeding, walking, and playtime. I also have experience with cats. I work part-time as a CNA, so I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care. I’m available on weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-in visits, and maintaining your pet’s daily routine with plenty of love and attention. I prioritize safety and comfort by following routines, monitoring behavior and maintaining clean spaces. My CNA experience helps me be responsive to pets needs .
“Nyah is a fantastic cat sitter! My two cats quickly warmed up to her wonderful caring style and were well taken care of. Her communication and photo-reports were fabulous and kept me at ease. When I returned, I could tell by my cats' demeanor that all had been very well with Nyah :) I highly recommend Nyah!!”

About: I have always had pets in my life, and this is reflected in my 20 years of pet care experience, and I'm only 24 years old. What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive pet care experience combined with a deep commitment to each animal's well-being. Here are some key aspects of my approach: * I am respectful of not only the pet parents' time, energy, and boundaries but also the pet (after all, they are family) * I maintain a structured routine, ensuring that pets receive consistent care, feeding, and exercise. * I excel in time management, ensuring that all tasks and activities are completed efficiently and on schedule. * I am deeply compassionate and empathetic, treating every pet as if they were my own, which helps them feel safe and loved in my care. These qualities enable me to provide high-quality, attentive care that meets the unique needs of each pet I look after. Because it is summer, I am not enrolled in any classes and my days are spent enjoying the summer weather and occasionally hanging out with friends. This means that I am free every day of the week at any time. I will be transferring to a college in Southern California at the end of August, but up until that point, I am free. When I am pet sitting, whether it be an overnight stay or just coming over for potty breaks/walks, I make sure that I am respectful of the family home and make sure that it appears as if I was never there to begin with. Everything has its place within a client's home and it is not my place to move things or reorganize based on my standards. In my home, everything does have its place, even if it looks like chaos it is organized chaos. My cat is taken care of very well if his age is any indication, and I make sure that he is comfortable and feels safe within his home.
About: I have loved animals since I was a little kid, and I grew up surrounded by animals including a cat, two dogs, and a rabbit. As a teen, I was also a junior zookeeper for several years at my local wildlife refuge, helping to care for animals that couldn’t be released into the wild and also educating visitors on the importance of these animals and their natural habitats. For the last 10 years, I have had the pleasure of being the guardian of a sassy little tabby named Moon. I have also had the pleasure to housesit for some other furry friends when their humans were out of town. Currently have a pretty flexible schedule as long as I know a few days in advance what’s up 😊 Which is why I unfortunately can’t take same day bookings. At this time, I am unable to accommodate overnight housesitting requests where a pet cannot be left alone for at least 4 hours at a time. I am committed to making sure that your furry family members are safe and well cared for while they are with me. Please communicate any known issues to me (things your pet likes to chew that they shouldn’t, medications they take, behavior issues, for instance) and in turn I will do my absolute best to keep them safe and report any possible issues immediately.
“Marley did an amazing job taking care of my two cats! I would definitely trust her to cat sit for us again! She is extremely communicative and responds quickly, which we really appreciate. We also know that the cats really liked her, and she knew how to earn their trust. Thanks Marley!!!”

About: I have a lot of energy and love to give any pet! In my previous nanny job, I was partially responsible for caring for the family’s two large dogs. This ranged from walking them, feeding and giving them water, to watching them overnight when the family went away for vacations. I also have experience cat sitting. I fed and changed out the cat litter for a family while they were away. She was a very independent cat so I let her do her thing while I took care of other things in the house. I would love to take time out of my day to take care of pets because I am not able to get one of my own. I am available on weekends with enough notice and in the afternoons for doggy care and will make it my priority to make your pet have a great time with me! I love time outside and any excuse to go on a walk or to a park so dog sitting is perfect for me. I live in house with a concrete backyard that has a peaceful and walkable neighborhood. I also have a car so I am willing to take them to other nearby trails and any services the family needs done for them.
“Sarah was all I dreamed for my pampered cat, Moo’s care in my absence! And more! Moo was pleased to see me when I returned but she looked so happy and healthy I didn’t have a chance to feel guilty for leaving her! It was obvious Moo had had lots of love and attention during my time away! Loved all the pictures Sarah took and her reports. Sarah handled all the peculiarities of my little household with great aplomb. In other words, Moo and I recommend Sarah highly!”

“Melissa is wonderful! 2 of our 3 dogs have different reactivity issues, and have had some of their “stranger danger” get worse between the pandemic and moving to Sonoma County. It’s a big relief to see our dogs resocializing and looking forward to interacting with new people”

About: I have been providing dedicated pet‑sitting services for over 20 years, drawing on the experience of a 25‑year veterinary career during which I’ve owned and cared for many cats and dogs. Animals have always been at the center of my life. We recently said goodbye to our beloved 18‑year‑old kitty in August, and we currently share our home with a sweet 15‑year‑old cat and a lively 5‑year‑old rescue dog who keeps us smiling. I currently work full time Thursday through Monday starting around noon and off around 9. My schedule does fluctuate a bit based on the needs of my work I don't accept pet sitting at my house as I don't feel that is fair to my pets. I care for pet sitting jobs in their home, where I feel they are most comfortable. They are already without their family so it feels most natural for them to be in their home.

Rachael’s report cards and photos honestly become the highlight of my day. The updates are thoughtful, hilarious, and so detailed that I feel like I get to experience the adventures right alongside my pets. She captures all of their quirks and little personalities perfectly, and the photos are absolutely priceless. She goes above and beyond in every possible way. She keeps my home tidy, notices little things that need attention, brings in packages, takes out trash, and somehow manages to leave my house feeling more put together than when I left. We are so very grateful!

We had an amazing experience with our sitter! She took such great care of Elphie and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She was reliable, caring, and kept us updated with photos and messages and left us with the cutest photo stickers of our pet. Elphie was happy, comfortable, and clearly well loved. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Sarah was absolutely amazing. She is such a kind, gentle, and thoughtful person, and our cats really warmed up to her. One of our cats is extremely shy and usually takes a long time to trust new people, but Sarah did such an incredible job being patient and calm with her. By the end, even our shy little girl was comfortable. Our house sitting setup is honestly a bit chaotic right now. We have cats needing to stay in different rooms, doors that always need to stay closed, feeding schedules in different spots, and a general “musical chairs” situation happening at all times, so we are definitely not the easiest household to manage. Sarah handled all of it flawlessly. She sent pictures every single day, communicated wonderfully, and always gave a little synopsis of how things were going, which I appreciated so much. I had zero anxiety being out of town knowing Sarah was taking care of our kitties. That peace of mind is priceless. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, reliable, communicative, and genuinely wonderful with animals.

It means a lot to me that Kyle and his wife were able to bond with my cats Scout and Moose so well. 5 star

Christina was fantastic. She was punctual, communicative, and sent daily photos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. One of my cats is very shy and needs medication, and she handled both with such patience and care. I was especially impressed by how quickly the animals warmed up to her. She also asked thoughtful questions and regularly checked in to clarify details, which showed how attentive and responsible she is. We were also so grateful that she was able to accommodate us on short notice. Christina made the whole experience easy and reassuring, and we would absolutely trust her with our pets again.

Marina immediately had our trust, comfort and ease! I helped my parents find a dog sitter to come to my wedding. They were nervous having someone come to the house and care for their 2-3 yo dogs that hadn’t been around a lot of other humans though very friendly (a shepherd mix and a German Shepard). Marina was easy and quick to respond. She came by to meet my parents and the dogs, who all loved her immediately! Marina sent videos and photos while we were gone which my parents loved! I especially appreciated Marina’s experience with German shepherd temperaments. I highly recommend Marina and would definitely use her again with FULL CONFIDENCE!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
