Our second time booking Alyssa and it was just as great as the first. She’s so patient with our little rescue Chiweenie and will absolutely be our go-to sitter going forward. I’d give her 100 stars if I could. ❤️

We had an amazing experience with Alivia and would recommend her to everyone looking for a dog sitter! She took such good care of our dog while we were gone. He’s kind of anxious around new people and she was so kind and patient with him, she sent us videos of him wagging his tail and being goofy :)

About: I have a tremendous love and respect for all animals. My attentive nature surges when in the presence of any animal… they are all I care about! I have been taking care of my family and friends pets for years! I can do special instructions with medicine for animals as well. I am currently working at Starbucks as a barista. My store that I work at is only 5 mins from my apartment. My shifts are normally no longer than 6 hours, and my boyfriend is home full time as well. Besides from work I am always home! I live in a cozy apartment with two of my own little kitties! I have a soft, large, playpen enclosure for your pet if needed, but my kitties are pretty friendly!

McKenna was amazing! This was my first time leaving my pups home for the weekend and having someone come house sit. McKenna helped put my mind at ease when we did the meet and greet. One of my pups left an unexpected surprise (my pup threw a tantrum and destroyed a furniture) for McKenna and she was so nice and cleaned it up for me. I came home to happy pups and I would recommend her. I’d have her back!

My experience with Melody was fantastic she went above and beyond, truly the best pet sitting experience I have had. This was a super last minute booking after my previous sitter cancelled and she responded immediately and was willing to take over and show up instantly. She was super communicative and made me feel very comfortable, even going as far as giving me updates when she was leaving the house for less than 30 minutes. Not only did she send plenty of adorable photos of my cats but she cleaned up as well leaving my house in better shape than I left it. I would recommend Melody in a heartbeat she is the best.

About: hi there! Im Dylan and I can't wait to meet you and your pet. I became a pet sitter because I adore dogs, and I can't have one of my own right now so I'm here to give lots of love and attention to yours! I'm very understanding of dogs that are a little more anxious, and provide them with a calm presence during the stay. Your pet is your family, and I understand what it's like to be away from them, even if you're off doing something fun. I'm responsible, creative, and have been described as an old soul. I love meeting new people and dogs-and being a part of a thriving community. When your dog is with me, they'll get lots of one on one attention, and lots of love ! Im currently free anytime any day during the week. So whatever works for you is great to me. Monday through Friday even weekends are fine. I provide safe, and fun interactions with all pets I look after. I am respectful of all pet owners and their pets and am able to follow any specific care instructions set forth. I'm currently working part time so I'll have plenty of time playing with your pups! And updating you on how the sitting is going ! I have no fenced yard. But well enough of space to keep your pup occupied and having fun ! Friendly neighborhood safe environment for your pup !

About: I've been taking care of my families pets as well as the pets of my friends, and neighbors since I was a kid! We never had less than three animals in the house and would always watch over our neighbors pets when they were gone. I have also worked as a pet sitter for many other families in a more professional setting. Taking care of animals isnt always clean or easy but its worth it to me to see them happy. I do my best to treat your pets like family knowing that I would want the same treatment for my cat when I rely on someone to watch her! I am not available in the mornings unless I am taking care of them across multiple days. I am available in the afternoon and evenings both during the week and weekends. I am not able to keep your pets in my home because I have a very non-friendly cat. However I am more than happy to spend an afternoon with them at the park, take them on a short walk, or just stop in to make sure they are doing ok. I am also able to stay at your home or check on your pets multiple times per day if you will be out of town.

Chris was an excellent pup sitter for our black lab. We were nervous to leave our boy and it was our first time having a stranger in our home to care for him. Chris was kind and patient with Cayde and gave us frequent updates on how things were going. Chris put us at ease and left the home as he found it. We'd definitely have him return for future in-home pet sitting!!

Laurel was an outstanding house and pet sitter. She communicated exceptionally well throughout her stay and regularly sent photos and updates, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She was always responsive, professional, and easy to work with. It was clear that she genuinely cared for my Boston Terrier and home as if they were her own. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely hire her again in the future. Highly recommended!

About: I'm an animal lover. I had dogs and cats and mainly had just dogs/cats in the past. I've always wanted to take care of animals. Even starting out as a walker/sitter it’s fun to be able to help I live in a house with a yard and they do allow animals. I will make sure they will not be able to escape. I will never forget to feed them. Play with them. Take them out whenever they need to go. I will keep the owners up to date with everything involving their pets. I have a small back patio but the place does have a big dog park! I do want to put that making a list of things that you normally would do with your pet, fill free to write down and tell me. Any questions at all ask me. Please review on booking me. Currently unemployed and my first time being pregnant! So I am looking into making some income someway before starting back up work but I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! And or cats! I’m available for walking/ check ins any time of day(I’ll be a bit slow but definitely high energy for the furry ones! I’m great at providing whatever needs fit, either high energy for a young pup or a low casual exercise for those senior babies lol :) If I were to care for someone’s pet in their home I’d make sure to bring extra items for their pets like extra food bowls, walking harnesses/leashes or food.

Kathryn was with our dog for three weeks. She did a great job of taking care of our anxious and needy dog. He got lots of belly rubs and playtime! He is also a finicky eater, and she managed to get him to eat daily! Kathryn sent us pictures and videos throughout her stay. She was a great housesitter too! Overall, we were pleased with the care Kathryn gave our dog!

I had a sitter have to cancel super short notice and Daphne absolutely saved us! I have 3 very spoiled boy cats who are all in different stages of life (kitten - adult - senior) and she was able to follow specific instruction without issue. It was much easier relaxing on my trip knowing my boys where in good hands ☺️

FAQs for House Sitting - Fruitland

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Fruitland on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,076 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fruitland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fruitland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fruitland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fruitland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fruitland. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
