Mercedes did a great job watching our two fur baby cats while we were away. She set up a time beforehand to meet our cats which was great. She was great at playing with them, feeding them, cleaning their potty. And she sent great pictures while we were away. She made our time away feel less stressful knowing she was watching our babies. Hope to have her as a sitter for our cats in the future!

Erin was absolutely fantastic with our Boston Terriers! She kept us in the loop with updates, lots of adorable photos, and hilarious notes about their antics. We genuinely looked forward to her messages! It was clear our dogs enjoyed their time with her, and she consistently went above and beyond our expectations. Erin is a true gem, and we'll definitely be rebooking!

Malie was amazing with our siberian husky! She was great with communication and reached out with each drop in. Our husky has a lot of personality, and several medications. Malie made it simple, and took great care of her! Malie was great at respecting Koda's cues, playing when she wanted to play, but also giving Koda space when she wanted it. We will be booking again with Malie very soon.

Megan did a great job of letting me know what was on with my kitties while I was away. I was happily surprised that they actually came out to see her when she visited. Will feel confident about leaving the little ones in her care in future.

Pakuna was wonderful and took great care of our kitties. They don’t have complicated meds but they require special care and she was friendly in our meet and greet, took great notes, followed instructions, and sent great pictures and notes throughout the visit. Highly recommend Pakuna for your pet care.

Benjamin did an amazing job taking care of my 18-year-old cat Buster. He went over and above with his care of Buster , who needs medication for thyroid twice a day. He spent time with him, sent me lots of pictures and kept me up-to-date with everything that was happening. I recommend him without any hesitation at all. Thank you, Benjamin.

I am so grateful that Alyssa was able to look after my kitties on short notice--and doubly grateful that she was on hand to deal with an urgent medical issue with one of the kitties, which she did very professionally. Alyssa is one of those people who really "gets it" about cats. (Cat people know what I'm talking about 😃.) She gave my extrovert kitty tons of play and snuggle time, and he loved it. I will absolutely be using Alyssa's services in the future!

We are glad we chose to have Heather care for our senior kitty this past weekend. Her approach to offering services through Rover was very professional. She did everything we asked, was attentive to his needs and sent lots of pictures and details about her visits with him. We plan to reach out to her for future sitter needs.

She had watched our cats twice now for extended lengths of time and is amazing. Not only is she personal and makes you feel confident before hand, but also punctual and knows how to work with cats with differing personalities (one of mine can be a handful and cranky). Will certainly be contacting her when needed again.

About: I am an experienced veterinary technician and love doing dog AND cat sitting on the side! I live in NE Salem right next to some parks and a school. My yard is fully chain linked fence, about 6 ft tall. I provide access to the yard as needed, I don't leave the pet unattended. About this sitter: It's tough to find the right person who has the same love for your dog as you do and has the personality that's understanding and the comforting experience in the veterinary field. All any dog lover could ask for. Right here~! As for a personal reference about me, I am 34 years young and have 12 years of animal care experience. I have my own car, own my house, and I worked at a veterinary clinic and LOVE it. Vet Technician for 12 years. Dog boarding experience for 12+ years. Dog grooming experience for 1 year. Volunteered at multiple shelters. Why I love dog sitting When I was 5 years old my mom was taking a home video. I was telling her how when I was all grown up I was going to be a doggy doctor. Funny how childhood dreams play out. I am now steadily working in the Veterinary field. Meet my pets 3 Cats and 1 yr old heeler mix. About my yard Large fenced yard! 6 ft chain-link fence. My experience administering medication Very. It's done daily at my normal job. I work most days but only for 4 hours in the morning. My schedule is also flexible so I can be home whenever is needed. I have a large fenced yard, dog kennels and free roam of the house. My couch is ready for the snuggles and we have kids who are dog friendly to give the love! We also go to the park in walking distance every day for the able pets.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 874 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Fruitland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fruitland. On Rover:

  • 99% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
