About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life, starting with cats as a kid and later helping with my mother-in-law’s Jack Russell terrier and Siberian husky, as well as my own 100 lb English Lab. During my five years as a rural letter carrier, I earned the nickname "the dog whisperer" for my ability to befriend even wary farm dogs on my routes. “Karly came to my house once a day for 4 days to feed my 2 cats, the fish in my aquarium, my 14 hens and one wild hen turkey who recently moved in with the chickens. I also asked if she’d collect eggs. She had never fed chickens so I gave her directions for feeding. And collecting eggs. Oh - and she cleaned the cat box. So the cats hid each day she was here. Never saw them once. Seems like everything went smoothly. I think as a Rover pet sitter she went above and beyond the call of duty. I am very thankful she was here taking care of my critters. I hope she’s willing to return one day.”

About: I have grown up caring for all kinds of animals. I have the most experience with dogs, and small animals. Most of my family pets I provided main care for. Because of this I have grown a stronger sense of patience for pets, and have learned what will help them be more successful in their day as well as mine. I still am happy to learn more about the pets individual personality, and earning their trust. Though it is not my main career path it is something I am very passionate about. I volunteered at humane societies in my past free time. Though it is not something I can continue, I hope to make up for it by working with other pet owners. Thank you I currently work from home, though it is a part time job. Walks can be done 24/7 for whatever the pet may find necessary. Pets are considered in every part of the day from walks to the trash bins and fetching mail, to meal times and what is comfortable and safe. Born and raised in here in Salem, OR. About: I have experience working with all sizes and manors of dogs. I have pet sat for years, and have cared for dogs, cats, fish, plants and more. I walk several reactive dogs back in California, one exceeding 50 pounds. I am excited to meet the dogs of the area!! I work most weekdays, but my afternoon and evenings are usually free. I usually don’t have plans on the weekends. I will begin school in the fall. I can walk the dogs, play ball or even just give them some pets. I usually can check up on them 2-3 times a day if pet sitting. If just walking, I try to gage the energy level, and adjust my walking distance and location accordingly.

“McKenna was great to work with. We had a meet and greet and it went great. Our cats walked up to her and were very comfortable. One of our cats, Sonya, is very shy and with a couple of visits McKenna had her doing flips in the air with the feather on a string toy and sitting next to her. I follow all owner instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication routines, crate rotations, leash handling, and household rules.
