About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life, starting with cats as a kid and later helping with my mother-in-law’s Jack Russell terrier and Siberian husky, as well as my own 100 lb English Lab. During my five years as a rural letter carrier, I earned the nickname "the dog whisperer" for my ability to befriend even wary farm dogs on my routes. Since then, I’ve looked after a mix of local pets, including a reactive Lab-Shepherd and a few energetic pit bull mixes. I’m patient, calm, and consistent, and pets trust me quickly. Pet care fits perfectly into my flexible schedule while I pursue my Master's in Behavioral Health. I value structure and routine, which makes it easy for me to keep pets on their normal schedule. Spending time with animals is grounding and rewarding. It balances the intensity of my studies and keeps my days centered on care, calm, and connection. I provide attentive and responsible care for pets, prioritizing their safety, comfort, and overall well-being. In my care, I ensure that feeding schedules are followed, environments are clean and secure, and that pets have appropriate stimulation through play or companionship. About: I have been caring for all different types and sizes of animals since a very young age. I used to work at a veterinary/daycare/boarding/grooming job and now work as a vet assistant! I have also pet sit for friends, family, even neighbors! I am very confident in caring for multiple pets at a time, feeding, administering medications, training, bathing, even socializing pets! I do also have experience with horses as well as other barn animals. I do have my own horse so I am able to care for livestock as well! I currently work full time as a veterinary assistant but am able to care for pets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Sundays, and Saturdays after 3pm! My schedule may vary sometimes but that is typically what my weeks look like! I do live in a 2 bedroom house with a yard yard. I do have 3 dogs and 3 cats but I do have a crate and am able to crate your pet if needed!

“I had a fairly simple set up since the cat box and both dog/cat feeders are automatic, but my tortoise needed a bit of lettuce daily and the dog needed letting out (she has potty pads to use as well). They went above and beyond, came twice a day to break up the silence and give my pets some love,I received multiple pictures and texts to keep in touch about my trip and plans. Even brought in packages left on the porch. My doggie, huge twin kittens and tortoise were all happy and seemed very at ease when I got back. Will definitely use them again and recommend.”

About: I have grown up caring for all kinds of animals. I have the most experience with dogs, and small animals. Most of my family pets I provided main care for. Because of this I have grown a stronger sense of patience for pets, and have learned what will help them be more successful in their day as well as mine. I still am happy to learn more about the pets individual personality, and earning their trust. Though it is not my main career path it is something I am very passionate about. I volunteered at humane societies in my past free time. Though it is not something I can continue, I hope to make up for it by working with other pet owners. Thank you I currently work from home, though it is a part time job. Walks can be done 24/7 for whatever the pet may find necessary. Pets are considered in every part of the day from walks to the trash bins and fetching mail, to meal times and what is comfortable and safe. Born and raised in here in Salem, OR. My home is in a park filled neighborhood, with many walkable paths! A large, shade filled backyard.

About: I love dogs! I currently have 2 dogs of my own a 5 yr old Irish Setter that I raised from a puppy, as well as a senior German Shepherd so I have experience caring for dogs of all ages. “McKenna was great to work with. We had a meet and greet and it went great. Our cats walked up to her and were very comfortable. One of our cats, Sonya, is very shy and with a couple of visits McKenna had her doing flips in the air with the feather on a string toy and sitting next to her. In case you are wondering how I know I have a cat cam in the front room. The next time we need a cat setter McKenna will be on the top of our list.”

About: Know what it's like to own dogs since childhood. Tell me what they love, like, and hate. Love to bring gifts for the dog(s) anytime. Also been a great house sitter and pet sitter for my mother in the past when she visited grandkids for a week in California. As far in advance as possible since I also do crowd management seasonally but haven't worked since April 1st. P.S. A page from the daily calendar for Life Hacks encouraged me to join and I do know someone on Rover.com named Stephen. He's a dog sitter, owner, and trainer. I live in a condo on the ground level with a patio and a view of Mill Creek. I'd prefer to house and/or pet watch at your place.
